Center For Applied Research In Dementia

The Original Montessori for Dementia Training®

Our company specializes in translating research into practice. Our primary emphasis is the development of non-pharmacologic interventions for persons with dementia and related disorders. We also have worked with other populations that have memory and/or cognitive impairments. We train professional and lay caregivers in effective interventions for challenging behaviors associated with dementia and related disorders, and we use a train-the-trainer model to facilitate dissemination of training within organizations. Our manuals and other training materials are in use in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia, and have been translated into six different languages. We also provide distance training around the world.

Have you listened to this video with headphones on? Having only the left ear with sound is an issue. The bell was in both ears. Just trying to help.

Thank you so much for sharing this series! I am a retired Montessori teacher, now caring for my dad. I feel like I've been using many of these principles, just because It's what comes naturally to me. I wasn't aware of this for elders, but it completely makes sense, and for me just validated my feelings . Thank you!

Anne, thank you for sharing! It is no wonder these principles come naturally to you. If you have any words of wisdom or stories you'd like to share, please do. We love hearing them and I'm sure other people do too.

I once believed Alzheimer's disease has no cure.. Well, it is true with western medication, but not with herbal medicine. My Dad's experience opened my eyes to the reality of a cure through herbs.. My Father was diagnosed with mild dementia in 2013 but now he's finally free with herbs from Dr. Rohan.. You can reach out with the doctor via [email protected]

My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease 7 years ago, almost when all hope was lost due to several failed attempts in making her healthy. My desire to see her permanently free drives me into searching the internet for possible solutions which led me to a video about Alzheimer’s disease on KZread, I met with a comment on how an herbal doctor used herbs to cured someone of Alzheimer's Dementia. I collected the herbal doctor's contact and reached out to him, we talked about it and he asked few questions about her physical challenges which I answered, and then he prepared the herbal medicine and sent them to me here in Tennessee with prescriptions on how to use attached, I ensured my mom took the herbal medicine accordingly and in 3 weeks of using this medication, we began to see improvement in her health and now, I am so glad to share this testimony that after 8 months, my mom is permanently healed of this horrible disease called Alzheimer, and now she is living her best life. Contact Dr. Rohan via [email protected] you will come back for your testimony

Dementia is a syndrome, and Alzheimer's disease - a type of dementia - has a disease pathology (the progressive plaques and tangles), which is why it is medically labeled as a disease. As the majority of dementias already are a syndrome, I don't understand how now labeling AD as a syndrome would reduce stigma or suddenly open doors that are not already open for the other dementias.

This video is a good first step. However, I think that all of us have abilities that are limited in one way or another, and they may also change from day to day depending upon our sleep patterns, what we eat, our lifestyle, etc. Are we not still medicalizing Alzheimer's and dementia when we call it a syndrome? And, yes, we want to provide environments, physical, cognitive, and most importantly emotional that support people with a dementia.

Enjoyed the information - curious- when you state that "no cure for the cause of the symptoms" (2:40) - were the individuals completely and thoroughly evaluated for what could be causing brain damage? We picked up a copy of the book and appreciate that information also. Cheers.
