    after removing and reinstalling the valetronic motor, the end stop relearn needs to be completed. I would also recommend doing an adaptation reset due to the new O2 sensors, and vanos solenoids. Good videos man.

    I have an xt-225 and a tw-200. Both bike are great for taking camping or just cruising around the Texas countryside. Both are 2007 models and match each other. Both bikes fall heavily into the “fun” category and put a smile on your face.

    Such a loaded question. They're pretty cheap and I think they offer a good bang for your buck, especially the 335i with the N54 if you want to make more horsepower. They handle well, and IF maintained, they can actually be fairly reliable. If I had to rely on this as a daily, I'd pay more upfront and buy the best example I could find.

    Back in 2021 I sold my 2016 Limited 4Runner full time 4WD and bought a 1 owner leased 2018 GX460 Premium. The V8 and the transmission on the GX makes a world of difference. Of course, the KDSS, ATRAC which is standard on the GX460 is another plus! Mines has been to the OBX dunes, trails and mountains. Absolutely love the GX. Thanks for the video.

    @@Dan_And_Daves_Garage okay check this out.. i had a n63 in a 550i.. i would get that vanos code whenever i go full throttle and get into boost .. figured out my charge pipe had a boost leak and the code went away after fixing the boost leak .. i figured the car would throw that code because the vanos system wasn’t getting the correct afr to do its job

    Thanks for the heads up. I actually haven't fixed it yet and have just dealt with intermittent issue since it decides to almost randomly go on and off. Hey Dan and Dave! I am a newer (and shorter) rider and picked up a Honda CRF300L Rally thinking it had everything I wanted. After a couple months of riding around on it, it still feels too top heavy and too tall, and a pain to load in and out of my truck. I'm looking at selling it and picking up either a TW200 or an XT225. I rode my friends TW200 last month and it was very confidence-inspiring and I was having a blast, but I haven't had the chance to try an XT225. Have you ridden a TW200 and would you be able to compare the two?

  • @Dan_And_Daves_Garage
    @Dan_And_Daves_Garage19 күн бұрын

    I have not ridden a TW200 but from what I've read they have allegedly a tractor-like riding experience. The XT225 is 22lbs lighter, with more suspension travel and more "performance" (I can't believe I would even say that) oriented wheel/tire combo compared to the TW. I've only seen TWs used around me locally on farms for chasing around sheep and goats, and they are great for that. The XT is very confidence inspiring and still easy to ride. It's light, nimble, and has just enough power to get out of its own way which makes it a great learning/beginner bike or casual rider.

    Fantastic video, I have a 1992 WD21 Pathfinder and they tend to get more sound deadening from factory but I'm looking to see if i can take it another step. I'm praying this video gets blessed by the algorithm some day.

  • @Dan_And_Daves_Garage
    @Dan_And_Daves_Garage19 күн бұрын

    Thanks, it probably won't ever get picked up by the algorithm, but that's fine. The biggest limitations with the WD21 are just that it's a brick. At some point, you can cut out vibrations, but you won't ever get rid of the wind noise. If I were to do it again, I would go with the closed cell foam + butyl mats cut down any noise just to give it the best chance of quieting down.

    I owned a Z31 turbo. I regret selling it. Ended up buying an RX7 non turbo. Wanted to do an LS swap when I lost compression. Couldn't afford the LS at the time😢. So in a matter of a year and a half, lost two dream cars. I eventually would like to get another Z31 and do my dream RB26 swap. Is it possible? IDK. Lots of fab work I'm sure.

  • @Dan_And_Daves_Garage
    @Dan_And_Daves_Garage19 күн бұрын

    RBs nowadays are getting hella expensive. Any engine swap in these is a pain as everything is custom built and $$$. Not really worth it in my opinion. There is decent enough support now for the VG engines that running VG33 truck blocks and boosting them to the moon is pretty doable

    For 90% of people who want an adventure vehicle and don’t wrench in their own cars, Just get a newer gen 4Runner. They are ready to go right out the box. Those old Land Cruiser require a lot of maintenance and you will be replacing old parts every few months. 80 series land cruisers don’t really have a lot of maintenance videos on KZread. It gets annoying tbh. If you’re looking for solid axles you’re better off getting a wrangler. Way more aftermarket support and maintenance videos. I don’t have any experience with the 100 series but they are kind of dated looking and heavy for actual off-roading. I’m not hating on LC just trying share my personal experience with them. They are great vehicles for weekend camping trips on dirt/gravel roads

  • @Dan_And_Daves_Garage
    @Dan_And_Daves_GarageАй бұрын

    Fair observation that there are other vehicle options out there that offer similar or better capabilities. Really depends on what features you value the most and what terrain you plan on conquering. Buying any 25+ year old vehicle, you run into the same aging issues no matter what make/model you buy. Is there anything specific you'd like to see maintenance wise on the 80 series? Almost everything has already been solved on iH8mud. Personally haven't ran into anything complicated. Even if you ran into something funky you can buy and download all the factory service manuals from Toyota's TIS site.
