    A long time ago I read the book The Mental Game of Golf to improve my scores on the course. It worked! All about timing! This video is reminescent of those same instructions. VERY helpful, and spot on.

    Been running sordins for a long time, Gels are the bomb. Been wearing them on a range for the whole day without issues. (Other than the hat button issue lol, but you cant it a bit and no problems) Been looking at the in ears options out there. Bought the Axil Xcore Pro. We’ll see how they are

    Great video man! I'm curious why you didn't touch on the 3M Peltor Tep-200 and other options from 3M marketed towards firearm use. I'm running the eep-100 with skull screw but it spooks me that they are labeled for construction not shooting.

    I too have the Otto NoizeBarriers and had battery issues after 3-4 years. I only used them during hunting season, so I think its more of a battery age versus use issue. Unfortunately the batteries are not replaceable, but I loved those things! If they fixed the battery issue, I'd buy another set in a heartbeat.

    You hear through the occipital bone as well as the ear canal. That's why headphone style hearing protection is so important. I have some industrial full cup units that are absolutely amazing, but WAY too bulky for rifle shooting. I wear them during pistol shooting quite often, however.

    Commonly held belief, that I'm not sure if supported by the research at all. Couple caveats, obviously if plugs don't fit properly and aren't deeply inserted they don't work as well, just as muff don't work as well when there are leaks due to eye pro being shoved under them etc. But the research I've seen indicated only a margin increase in sound attenuation from adding muffs ON TOP of custom molds, let alone much difference between the two. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5187656/

    These have an 18 month warranty which seems pretty low for the price of these. People have complained about the battery losing its strength a couple years in and the battery is not replaceable. With the chance of these going out or the battery dying after 18 months I just cant justify buying them.

    This was great. Thank you. I like the "not everyone is this same" point. I can shoot alright but I know I jerk. My 9 not staying open after the last round isn't good but yet it's awesome to see how I'm jerking because I think there's a live round yet. It only happens with 1 magazine I have so I'm using it to my benefit. I'll try my best to random load a number of rounds. It's hard to get my mind not to count when doing it so I'll use several mags and stuff a few rounds in each trying not to pay attention.

    Great video. In terms of regular maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication, is it the same as a glock? How often do you clean and lube your oz9? Less maintenance than a 2011? How many malfunctions unrelated to ammo between shooting all your OZ9s? You own how many OZ9s? Have you ran the radian ramjet + afterburner? If yes, any thoughts? Thank you sir

    sometimes, more likely to work with a light-bearing holster and does work with safariland. Better off looking for an OZ9 specific model though.

    I have a Gen one OZ9. Both locking lugs on the barrel sheared off. Only had approx 2k rounds with the majority of that being 115gr training rounds and about 100 "duty" rounds. Also was attending a Sage Dynamics class and had one of my screws back out but I know that was on me and not the gun. The last thing that happened was the slide stop lever broke off during another training class. I did like shooting it till I went to staccatos.

  • @SpecTrain

    most springs are recommended around 15k, the recoil springs is supposed to be closer to 5k actually but most push it well beyond that.

  • @R41D
    @R41D14 күн бұрын

    What lbs recoil spring are you using in ur v1 and v2 OZ9? the stock is like 17lb IIRC. Would you consider changing out to a heavier rod(Tungsten) + light recoil (11-13lb) spring or just leave it OEM?

  • @SpecTrain
    @SpecTrain13 күн бұрын

    Ran the v1's stock most of the time. Ended up running a 13lb springco when I really trying to tune it in. But lot of variables there including ammo. Running the v2's with the setup they sent in it exclusively so far for testing purposes.

    I typically get a blue label stock Glock, then throw a Zev slide on it. Their slides are fairly affordable and ROCK solid. Might have to try out a full Zev build one day.

    Why dont you just put a retractable lanyard with steel wire on the AMG? Use a d ring or similar thing to clip to your belt? It will flop around if yoir running. But if your static it should be gtg.

    The reason Police officers have a less than 10% average nation wide hit ratio is specifically because of lack of understanding of target focus, practical shooting/predictive-reactive shooting principles, when they are faced with the need to shoot multiple times, fast and accurate. In addition that most of the training ( if there is any) is done without any stress inoculation. Slow bullseye, front sight focus, one eye closed, 1 shot at a time, taking the time to prep, pin, or come off trigger, and without any understanding of hand placement and pressures on the gun, when you are shooting more than 2, 6, 10 fast pace rounds. The point is that the training application agencies are using is the wrong application.

    As a former D1 college athlete I had access to excellent medical trainers - albeit many moons ago. You guys need to seek a good trainer, maybe from a local college or something , that can help you with recovery from your injuries. I am sure there is more you can do other than rest. to speed up your recovery. Since this is now post Nationals, I would just like to say you all did great and you should be proud of yourselves. As a newbie shooter I have learned a lot from all of you. I hope to one day to take a class from one or all of you. Thanks for all your work.

    As someone who has taken damage on the range from inferior ear pro, there should be no "budget" option. Trust me when i say, if you end up taking damage, if you could go back in time you would pay 100x to prevent it. At the end of the day, THE best ear pro you can find is the most important part of your load out. Do your research and get the best quality possible

    I watch a ton of shooting podcasts (including everything by Ben/Joel & all of the Redneck Lives) and this might be the most info-packed episode I’ve ever seen. I need to watch it 1 or 2 more times and take notes for things I want to add to my training. I think this is mandatory content for all A/M class shooters trying to level up. Good luck at Nats! PS: My money is on Christian taking the top spot.
