If you use a dehumidifier it really helps. Not great for off grid but you seem to have lots of power at taterland. I use a midea and my ac works kess hard and on cooler rsiny days i just run it. Gets that humidity out. Plus i have covers fir my vents so i csn open during the rain Safe travels Norm
I'm so sorry for both of you dealing with a lost cat. Just to give you some hope...My daughter has 14 cats! they are barn cats for the most part, but still very loved and cared for. One of them went missing months ago. She figured it was gone for good, but then low and behold, she saw a post from a shelter with 2 cats turned in. One was her missing cat, who now seemed to have a buddy. This cat had been missing for 6 months! Of course she went to get her kitty and ended up with his buddy too, lol! What's one more! I also remember a lady who's cat went missing in the desert. It was an old cat, and everyone figured it had ended up badly. But, after she hung around for quite some time hoping it would return, she had to leave and go back east. Someone found it finally and she was back on the road to pick it up. Don't give up hope. But, this is the reason I have indoor cats and outside catios for mine. I travel too much and don't ever want my cat to disappear on the road. Praying for a cat come-back.
Years ago my kids found a tiny kitty in our front yard. We went to all the neighbors and no one knew where he came from. I told my kids the kitty should not go outside because it was not safe. The kitty, however, had other ideas! It was summer and we had our windows open. One day I could not find the kitty anywhere in the house when I noticed a small window screen had been clawed enough to allow the kitty to get out. We found him a couple days later but he destroyed the house when he wanted out. So he became and indoor outdoor kitty. He lived to 19 years old! My point is some kitties want to be outside no matter what. It is not always doable to keep a kitty inside! There is no blame here. If he is gone, by whatever means, he lived the life he wanted while he was here. Cats cannot always be forced to live inside. I hope you find your kitty but if you don’t remember he had a good life while he was with you !!

Mine took off for 3 weeks, 2 weeks later was told to sprinkle his used litter around house few days later he showed up

No monsoons in Phoenix this year and not mush of any rain. Send the rain down to us! It’s hot as hell still here. It’s not worth letting cats outside unless you’re out there with them, way too many coyotes and dangerous animals out. I’m really sorry for you both

El Niño years wet in the south, dry in the pnw ~ La Niña coming this winter, dry in the south wet in the pnw. Sorry about Yin, we lost a cat to an owl in New Mexico, it is heartbreaking, no more outdoor kitties after that experience.
