Had a quiet moment remembering being a bus driver in liverpool i was based at prince alfred road depot penny lane from 1962/1966 used to drive routes 61/79/5/99 great days in the sixties. 😂

The route lost its appeal for me when it stopped going down Green Lane and round the back of Allerton Library. Life was never quite the same after that.

If you notice some of the letters on the floor on the way in are red. They spell out a secret code “cyclops in the wood”. That refers to that book inside the Oak Room which you showed. The Genus Crocus by George Maw. An amazing looking book!

i once lived at upper brassy street 5 mins away.then moved to the country for my dads job. ive been loads with the kids its really nice to walk around all these years later and to walk over the bridge with out using ice when its frozen to get over .ive not fished it for 40 years but goin give it a go soon

For me it isn't about aggression but is connected to pride in our home and countryside, in wanting to help our neighbours and having a love of our history and culture...from Alfred the Great onwards. Vera Lynn reminds me of my grandparents and parents who played their parts in the Second World War and were "quiet patriots". This song (and your pictures to accompany it) help me find the courage to stand up and defend what they and their generations so bravely fought for.
