You can also deflect players when they launch themselves if u shoot them with a wind charge so u can use it for both attack and defence. Very cool :)

My opinion as a hobbiest game dev: The mace is, not only absolutely broken, but it completely overshadowed the sword. Since it has the same base stats besides durability and can be enchanted with basically everything you’d want, there’s no reason to have a sword anymore. I feel like it should add to the current arsenal and not replace anything. So, first order of business should be, tweak it’s stats so that it can be used alongside swords and axes. My best idea is for it to deal less damage normally. Maybe 4-5 damage base. Since we want to incentivize its main gimmick (fall damage accumulation). Secondly, we need to determine if it’s ok or not for the damage to infinitely scale while falling (imo, it shouldn’t, but that might not be the devs current vision). Either way, maybe increase the minimum fall distance or decrease the increased damage bonus from falling. It’s undeniably too much right now. Imo, we should decrease its increase bonus damage and limit the total damage possible. Doing so, we can rework the density enchantment to increase the maximum height at which you can accumulate damage and not the increased base damage value. Maybe start at a max of 30 blocks and each level will increase that by another 10 blocks? Another problem I noticed from the vid is the lack of a way to properly counter the attack besides running away. Shields didn’t really seem like they’re doing much tbh… Another problem is the wind charged enchant. It might become too overwhelming if players can just spam that effect all the time. So maybe decrease the attack speed of the mace or add some sort of cooldown or, my favorite idea, make it cost a wind charge every time you use it! That way, the enchant is just an easier way to achieve what you can already do, it’s just lower skill and easier. Either way, the mace is absolutely broken as of now and desperately needs nerfing.

I dislike the weapon as a whole. Nightmare to balance and feels more like a modded weapon than something that belongs in the vanilla game. Minecraft combat already has some broken factors that need addressed, and in its current state, the Mace will join end crystals, elytras and totems in the pile of items that butcher Minecraft's pvp

I make the comment due to maces following a more "traditional" medieval weapon approach despite the lack of spears, hammers, halberds and other weapons of said nature. The presence of tridents is the only thing that really makes mace at all belong. If spears, warhammers or other weapons of similar nature are added in some capacity, which Mojangsoft hasn't disregarded to my knowledge, the mace will fit in a bit better. Perhaps I'm simply biased due to its current state of balance, although I'm not a fan of it having a pretty much 100% PvP oriented enchantment

Weirdly enough, the fact that it dosent “fit” makes it fit better in my opinion. And again, “the last time I saw X was in a mod” isn’t really a fair comment since then mojang wouldn’t be able to add literally anything ever. It was the same with glazed terracotta, crossbows, tridents, slime blocks and literally every interesting and unique thing they came up with. I feel like we should only focus on balancing the item so that it dosent overshadow all other weapons during pvp. It feeling like it belongs or not is very personal and a simple matter of if that particular person likes it or not. The actual impact the item will have dosent come from it being called a spear/trident/mace/hammer or whatever

I think it might help if the mace had a cap on how high you can fall to add to the damage. Like maybe the damage you deal is the same as 9 blocks as 50. Would nerf the ability to one shot players and also things like the warden with an elytra, but still make wind charges an optimal strategy.

Yeah. Like IGNORING ARMOR matters when you're hitting air jumps for 40+ (hardmore warden damage) anyways, which armor does very little against in the first place. This weapon does not belong in PvP
