    First time I rode one, I thought it cornered weird. Then I realized, I was coming into corners MUCH faster. Their ability to roll obstacles is incredible.

  • @spicymountainbike
    @spicymountainbike9 күн бұрын

    You know I thought the same thing at first but yeah the corner speed is insane and the traction in turns is substantially better than my 27.5. Actually the entire ride has become incredibly better. Climbing is slower than 27.5 but a lot smoother with better traction. I’ve only ridden that bike one time so far and it’s still the best ride I’ve ever had since I started mountain biking in 2015.

    Hey can u help me with my maguras they just don’t work I tried bleeding I don’t know what to do anymore I’m not a brake expert I’m new to this I have no idea what to do

  • @spicymountainbike
    @spicymountainbike14 күн бұрын

    I have some other videos on bleeding the maguras. If you got oil on your pads you will have to replace them first before you can bleed the brakes. All you need to do is put the funnel in the bleed port on the top of the brake lever and put oil into it and squeeze the lever repeatedly until all the air comes out. Go ride and then repeat the process. Eventually all the air comes out. Watch some of my other bleed videos g.

  • @spicymountainbike

    Yes you have to flip both sides at the same time. If it feels loose check your bolt and make sure it’s tight and that you didn’t lose the washes that are on the side of the shock body.

    Be careful reducing pressure past 30% sag, past that point and you are just reducing your travel and making your fork feel stiffer even though the air pressure is lower. Also the pike can take up to 6 tokens

  • @spicymountainbike
    @spicymountainbike28 күн бұрын

    I had 2 tokens but then removed 1. It’s been pretty good with 1 token but I’m not too impressed with the new pike. It’s too flexy and I can hear some kind of metallic cha Ching sound when I jump at certain angles. I should’ve gotten the lyrik 140mm fork.

    Just quick bleed to vacuum the air out, it works within 3-4 times doing it. My first time owning magura MT5’s and i was able to do it fine, no need to wait and ride around first, just fill 15ml of royal blood and syringe with hole at 30mil, pull up on lever bleed port to vacuum out air, much easier.

    Listen to the Spiceman, I rocked Shimano M485s since '08 and switched to Magura MT5 in 2022. I was worried that the MT5 was a tighter system but that is the way hydraulics started. You had a reservoir up top and you worked with getting out the air just like he does in this video. I serviced mine today and I didn't even use the funnel. I just stood over the hole and dripped in the mineral oil little by little while squeezing the brakes regularly. Worked like a charm.
