I’m about to live in PDX and I need melanated friends 😢😢
Oh man I wish you had the names of these apartments.
One year later how do you feel about Portland?
I love it! The city has grown on me 🤗
I am moving to Oregon with my husband and daughter and seriously can’t wait! We visited Beaverton in May of last year and we fell in love! We live in Vegas now and Vegas is definitely not family friendly lol
You're so talented!
Thank you ❤
I’m on my journey now.. moving from Texas to Oregon.
Thanks for sharing! My partner and I moved here about a year ago and are still settling in, your videos are inspiring me to do some more exploring of the city!
I’ve been feeling the pull to Portland…from Philly. The weather is the SAME here in the winter. It amazes me no one talks about how similar the weather in the NE area is to Portland/Seattle, especially since we haven’t been getting nearly as much snow as we used to. To me, it feels like a dead zone of hustle and bustle, smog and dread, moving fast to go nowhere lol.
happy anniversary to you guys ❤️
thank youu! 🤗
Dope video!! Happy Anniversary!!
thank you ❤
Love your videos! Keep it up.
Thanks for sharing, but how much are the apts? Half asleep, maybe I missed it? Thanks..
Very very expensive
Loveee the simplicity of your videos!
Appreciate it! ❤🙏🏾
My husband and I just moved to Portland from Dallas and your content has been such a gem! Love seeing the city from your perspective 🤎
Welcome to Portland!! 🫶🏾
@@adoseofdai Thank you! Looking forward to adventuring the food and wine! Hopefully we can hit on a good BBQ spot soon 😖

Thanks for watching! ❤
Dope I actually gain some good insight from this video I definitely appreciate you for it thank you 🙏🏾 ❤
love how blacks always bring race into everything , just live in portland youll be fine i promise
No shit. This is supposed to be a video about Portland, not a video about her obsession with differences in skin color.
FACE IT, PORTLAND IS A LAWLESS DRUG INFESTED DANGEROUS CITY !!!
i love this video so much, and your other ones, the PNW is so beautiful and I will visit and maybe live there in the future!
What area did you stay in Portland Oregon?
I hope someone informs her that Oregon was once the only whites only state. And the “designated black neighborhood” was located in close proximity to the KKK who operated until before the mid 90s, so do the basic math…
I’m aware 👍🏾
You would be surprised how black people who grew up here didn’t know any this. Be prepared and expect that a a very good amount (particular the men)of people in your community to not have solidarity with you because I’ve witness my Black friends laughing at Anti-black jokes, or randomly shitting on black women by other black women. I hope you are able built a network of a community. ❤❤
There's no more black neighborhoods everybody's on one side of the fence then the other people who live in Portland we're spread out once it's a lot of homelessness here on the streets are mayor Ted wheeler is mentally ill walking the streets attacking people and stuff is really not good place to come to
Where is the blk community at then??? Cause I live in Portland for 15 years straight. and on and off for the last 5… so where at? Plz explain
You've encouraged me to start applying to jobs! Thank you and good luck with everything :)
Hey, WHat brought you to PDX?
Is it expensive to live in Portland?
It's relative - if you're from LA, NYC, SF etc. it's cheaper for sure. If you're from smaller towns or low cost of living cities in the Midwest (for example), you're in for some sticker shock. Housing is the big one - low supply and pretty spendy to rent or buy.
New subscriber! As a recent transplant to the PNW (Tacoma, WA) I love watching your journey as a fellow black girl & KZreadr. And I have a trip to Portland planned soon. ❤
loved this silent vlog!! Excited to follow your journey as I contemplate moving back home to Portland 🤪
I’m looking for a change from the Midwest. Over this flatness 😅 Portland is on my list so I’m happy to find this channel! Just subbed ❤
I wouldn’t recommend moving here as Black person, it’s super segregated and the KKK operated here until the somewhere around the early 90s right by the one “black neighborhood.” The black population is like less than 5% and is the smallest minority group in Portland, which is continuing being pushed out. The white liberal people are the typical passive aggressively racial ignorant who tell you they voted for Obama twice unprompted (but then voted for Trump). The Black community she’s referring is mostly the typical Light skinned folks with a Black father and a White mother archetype that participate heavily in respectability politics. “Girrrrl, you in danger. The amount of Black folks that I personally was acquainted and classmates with who were ok white folks say the N word with an A was very uncomfortable. Oregon is essentially white utopia, it once the Whites only state, and you couldn’t own property as a black person until the mid-90’s.
Thank you so much for this video, I’m moving to Portland in about 6 months from BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA. I’m super nervous yet again so excited to step outside my comfort zone and explore different parts of the world. I am a little nervous about finding black spaces, where I can connect with people but your video really gave me relief that I can fit into this new city. THANK YOU and THANK YOU!
How did ur move go?? I'm asking because I'm moving there from FL next week and would appreciate any helpful tips😊
@@dianelarro1886Hi, how did your move go?
I love the windows n 2️⃣ The second bedroom could be a closet….
what is the price ranges of the apartments if you don't mind sharing?
They ranged from $1900 to $2300
I couldn't imagine living in a room with no window! Moving to PDX soon and I love your vids :)
Exactly! Especially in the PNW when it’s so gloomy most of the time. I need light 😆. Thanks for watching 🫶🏾
really loved the silent vlog style! the first place with the windows was 😍
thanks dom🥹 silent vlogs make editing so much easier 😆 i was in love with them windows!!
How was it moving to Oregon as a black person? Not many black people is fine (easier for me to relate to them haha), but do you feel welcome? Is there any nuanced discrimination, or are you comfortable?
Definitely feel comfortable & welcome! I moved from Texas so racism/discrimination is not new to me haha.
@@adoseofdai I’m possibly moving from Dallas also. Overall any regrets??
Lovd it
Thanks so much for your video considering moving to Portland with the family :) could you make a video for your experience with finances there? Also what camera do you use?? Looks great!
Also no good Caribbean food places, central and South American.
Are you single
Never mind got my answer
Love the vibes!
Thanks for watching! ❤
Loveeeee this vlog ❤
Thanks for tuning in! 💞
I love your vlogs, always such a vibe! I was thinking about moving to the portland area, would you recommend for a fellow melanated lady?
Thank you for watching! Yes, Portland isn’t for everyone but there’s a growing melanated community and it’s a fun place to explore 🤗
Do you like Oregon ? Keep it real with me is it a great place to move ?
I'm thinking bout packing up a car and moving to Portland from atlanta... Atlanta ain't the same no mo
Exactly why I’m watching this video. Trying to get out of Atl 😅
Oh my God same here!!!
Does Atlanta feel unsafe?
@@ariesdelfuego yes especially if you got children.
Hi. I want to travel to Portland with my toddler. Do you have any suggestions or can you redirect me to some sources so I can plan accordingly ?
Hi thanks for making the PDX videos? Have you visited any churches or know of good ones to visit?
I’m moving there in a month from Vegas. Are the roads well maintained in the winter? I’ve driven in snow but Portland looks hilly.
It doesn’t snow much but it shuts the city down. They do not know how to drive in it. You use to have to put chains on your tires but that might have changed
@@melissaawesome9403 Thank you.
Oh did y’all do the big hill to the right? It’s got some spectacular views of the coastline when you get to the top
We didn’t get to do it this time, but we plan to next time!
I absolutely love your vids! thank you for sharing 💙
And thank you for watching! ❤️
Beautiful views❣️Can't wait to explore 💜🥰
Can’t wait either 🥰
