Does anyone know where to get the bass sample? Or a clean one shot of it? Or better still, what they used in the first place, thanks.

I've been djing for 30 years, I love records that sample old tunes. I was having a conversation with a friend tonight about Black Legend, trying to explain the genius of the use of samples. When I got home i watched the original Barry White recording in Belgium, and then stumbled across the video. I assume the guy on the left is Felix, explaining perfectly for the first few minutes what the crack is. The guy on the right is silent. The gentleman on the left basically says he was going to cut the barry white video down, but the sample was so clever, that it's impossible to do so, he needs to play it all. Because rightly, there are so man nuances that Black Legend took to create this gem. Just as the main hook/sample kicks in, the bloke on the right starts talking right over the top of it. Whoever the bloke is on the right, what an absolute bellend. The look on Felix's face. It's like when a bird starts talking over your favorite scene in a film. Why have someone on a youtube video/podcast who has zero knowledge of what the subject is. Anyway it's 1am, and clearly i need to get a life 👍

There is something destructive in speeding up the original tempo and adding a lot of electronic debris. And where did all these white women come from? Sorry, love the dance purity of the Robin S. version --- it's still religion in the U.S.

Best clubbing experience of my life was listening to Kings of Tomorrow - Finally mixed by Erick Morillo at club Bed in Sheffield, 2001 and I can remember nobody wanted the closing tune to end, just shouting encore, encore and Finally coming on! It was one of those special moments you both talk about. My requested sample track is Voodoo Ray by A Guy Called Gerald 🙏

Thanks for getting some of the truth out there Roger McKenzie was like a brother to me when I was living in Brighton and Hove and we were both working at the clubs some of them together . Roger DJ and myself a manger working at the old Mars Bar, Henry’s cafe bar and Helsinki. And the infamous escape club in Southampton for John Holland. I left Brighton and Hove for two year arrived back in September 1995 And the unfortunate happen He had a heart attack in Southampton after visiting his mother and died in England not America as I went to his funeral. Roger McKenzie was a genius so talented and yes without Roger’s work fat boy slim ( Norman cook) wouldn’t i’ve achieved what he has done with Rogers work I thought Fatboy Slim Norman Cook remixed it to raise funds for Roger McKenzie’s so that he never got to see born (Noir). I’m totally confused now. I hope some of it went to Roger McKenzie‘s family. I left Brighton and Hove in 2002 live in Australia All the best days were in Brighton. Hove will never forget it. The people, the places effing amazing would RIP Roger McKenzie

So he stole the basic hook for his hit. The Piano is the hook in the song. And that is what he uses unedited. I hope the piano player got some royalties for this. - And of top of it, the vocal melody he uses is also written by someone else. You know when you have song and get royalties for it. It is the chord structure and the vocal melody that makes it your song. He didn't own neither. Edit. the vocalist got royalties. Good.

It's the first song released with the famous Korg M1 Organ2 sound as house bass. At about the same time Show Me Love by Robin S was remixed by StoneBridge. He was remixing that just before Push the Feeling was released, so it's not like he stole the idea. There are more similarities: where Marc Kinchen turned a flopped song into a huge hit, StoneBridge did the same with Show Me Love: he asked a record company if he could remix a song. Just like with Marc Kinchen, his first remix was rejected, and he also quickly made a new one in a few hours, which is the one that became a huge hit.
