We are so glad that you found us here on KZread! We mostly create content here on KZread to share with you our experiences fishing and travelling. Although we mostly post fishing content, we also like to share some of our travel experiences here.

    I live in washington and we don’t have a limit ever cause there a problem fish that were planted here in the 1800s 95% of us don’t eat them we just catch hundreds of them to use for crab and sturgeon bait as well as bait for other fish when you find a person that does eat them they normally smoke them

    Seems like people of the east coast especially the northeast eat the stomachs of the clams, but they purge them first.

    I like the roe The fish is not that tasty 👅 Someone brought it into church for everyone to take Lots of bones I would chop up and use for bait to catch salmon 🍣

    Thanks for sharing, salmon are tough. My friend took me on his boat about 10 times and I only got one. He got two

    If you aren’t keeping shad, do not handle them like that. Use a net and keep them in the water. They are very delicate fish. Also, they kept pulling the hook out of their mouths. Shad have delicate mouths that rip through easily.

    Thank you! Rules here in Washington State is a bit different. We're required to put the shells back. We'd honestly prefer to keep them in their shells! NZ is a dream destination for us!

    Good job on catching those crabs! Just a fyi you can keep up to 12 males and it only has to be 5 3/4 inch when crabbing at that jetty.
