I have this sinking feeling that Solas is going to be this cartoon bad guy in the game because this writers dont seem to have the best grasp of subtlety. but at least the song is good. can always trust the fans to deliver.

We Solasmancers are reassembling as the new dawn draws near. Gods I hope we can get a satisfying ending for every type though- friend, lover, enemy. So excited for the game to come out.

Absolutely stunning. I love how the song, rather than focusing on Astarion's outer facade of a flamboyant and theatrical man, is focused on the inner turmoil our sweet little star is going through and how intense the emotions behind his mask are. (I think this makes sense. I love how the song represents Astarion's actual character, that's what I'm trying to say. Not the best at articulating my thoughts, apologies^^)

everything about this song- from the marching drumbeat, the steady humming of the hurdy gurdy(?), and the rolling rhythm of the lyrics give this song a sense of dreadful, pensive inevitability that captures the durge's struggle so well. a durge's dirge, if you will, yes i see what you did there. march, until no soul remains, not even your own!

I am totally in love with both versions! I do have an idea for one more before moving on from Dark Urge--a mix of both. Something like: If I must kill I will do it on my terms--if I enjoy it it's not because of my blood. Bhaal you made me, but in this, my life, I lay claim on MY OWN CHOICE ANEW. Orin you stand no more chance against me. If I stayed I may be dead by your hand, a failure alone, but now invincible with the ones I choose to walk beside. Kill me, break me, my own mind torment me but persevere I must for the safety of all. My knife will be sharp, there's no question about it , but your mistakenly let me slip away and now I'm out for blood, no longer a mindless killer but now with a purpose against you, let my killing Urge be my own! Clearly no song writer here, but there's an idea if you wanted to take it and run. Love the songs!
