So if lego is setting a precedent .. theres no more exclusive mini figures even if they say it.. which figure is next.?? Lord Of The Rings.. Ninjango…Batman.. Marvel..?? Lego just put a shadow over the term Exclusive…
I havent heard a single good argument yet. Rex should have been different, like every other UCS set ever. The microfighter was already going to exist so everyone would have the chance to get one. "Everyone should be able to get a Rex" is a dumb argument because YES they should and they can. Nobody is mad because of that. People like me are mad because they are not different in anyway. The minifigs in UCS sets should always be taken into account. "You shouldn't by the set for the figs only" YES i agree but minifigs make the set better and might be the reason sombody bought the set. Its like buying a house Vs buying a house with a pool. If you are happy about Rex why aren't you mad about USC Luke, 3CPO, Boba, the several exclusive Cantina figs, Veers, Imperial officers etc? They are different higher quality figs not released in microfighters. I saw this comment which i agree with. Its scummy of Lego to lie about the exclusivity of Rex in an expensive set, then once sales were conplete, release the cheap Rex. Lego dosen't care about the scalpers, they did it to maximize gain with selling the same fig, not putting in the work for a better fig. Lego should have released the microfighter first then release the Venator with a slighty different or better fig. Other bad arguments is "Its better for the Lego buisness" , wrong because Lego owns Bricklink so they would want the fees from rarer valued figs. Furthermore its better to have more types of figs for characters, building fig Diversity. The fig doesn't even have to be better, just different. Think about the 2 kinds of Jango fetts, 1 has a smirk and is valued more, the other is valued a little less. Finally whos buying a Rex from a scalper when its hundreds of dollars and the set isnt retire yet? Just don't buy from scalpers, especially when the set isnt retired. Yall mad about the scalpers, which i am too but they already bought the set and will just move to the next set. Lets stop Scalpers rather then laugh that they lost some money and forget about it. Alot already sold their Rex so they won. Summary, Lego was always going to release a Rex Microfighter so everyone was going to get a Rex. Don't hurt the fans whom saved money for years to buy a cool set with cool figs then make the figs cheaper.
Ngl watching all the scalpers get super angery is very entertaining.

Anyone who bought a Venator or spent scalper prices just for a Rex figure and are mad about the situation can take a long walk off a very high but short pier. Only thing I'm mildly annoyed at is Lego didn't print enough sets for the obvious high demand of this set from day one. My local store sold out in 10 minutes.
For me the biggest disappointment is another Y-Wing microfighter when there are SO many cool star wars vehicles they haven't made yet.

if you buy a 650 dollar set for the minifigure, thinking the entire build is an extra well you have some issues
im a fan but these are litterally toys for kids like no matter what pov they are made for childeren no matter who likes to play with them why are fans mad its not an absurd amount of money for one figure I'm happy that they made this i have made my point
Scalpers can stay mad. I will remain happy that I no longer have to buy a Venator, and I hope Lego does this more often with popular figures.

I think he’s entitled to his opinion even if I don’t agree at all. As I remember he was ok with a cheaper Rex, he just didn’t like the fact that LEGO said the fig was exclusive. I’m just so happy I finally have a Rex fig 😂

No fans are mad because they aren't different. Nobody is mad about getting a cheap Rex. I've been a fan for 15 years and still don't have a Rex.

Bro my walmart doesnt have any in stock, lego says it will ship within 60 days, it isnt on amazon, and target put it up but its out of stock as soon as they did it? I just want one to lead my army of 501st troops bruh. I have 3 501st battlepacks, 1 of the speeder and sidecar with kelleren, and 2 337th packs. I also have fives. I js want rex.

Same, I tried going to my local Walmart and target and I can’t find them at all. Idk if they’ve released the set in stores yet? I don’t want to wait 60 days from Lego lol

@@matthewjiron You will know if your walmart released them if you check the little tags that show the prices. If they released the set then they would have had to put the price tags out. Now if there are any there or not is a whole other story. 2 of the walmarts i went to had the tags out but no sets, but the one closest to me did not have it out yet, so im just going to go there every day until i find it, then ill buy one for me and one for my gf bc im trying to teach her how to build with legos lol

Tbh I'm starting to find modern lego fans annoying... every one complaining about the same trash over and over again... LEGO ARE KIDS TOYS! they will never be perfect.
I agree to a point. LEGO has started targeting adult builders and with the cost of LEGO I think some scrutiny over standards is a good thing. But yes, they are still toys 🙂
Why don’t they just sell Clone minifigures with stickers that you apply? That way y’all can make reprolabels like the TF fans do.

any time scalpers get fucked over is a W to me. i also had no plans on buying the $650 venator so i'm ok with it. very greedy of lego to lie about its exclusivity tho. they could have just not said that and there would've been no harm no foul.
Totally hear you. I disagree with the lying bit though. I see it the same way I do movies where they say ‘coming exclusively to cinemas near you’, but you know it’s coming to dvd or nowadays streaming eventually. I don’t think they should use the term exclusive though. I can’t stand that kind of FOMO marketing.
@@DarkAnimalStudios im sorry but if u genuinely believe that lego didnt know EXACTLY what they were doing when they put one of the most desired star wars figures of all time into a $650 set and then re-release it into a cheap one once sales plateau, then i have a bridge to sell you. its scummy business practice 101. they could have had nearly the exact same effect by just NOT saying its exclusive. but they went out of their way to say so knowing it would squeeze out at least several dozen more purchases from people who would never do so otherwise. granted, it was most likely “investors” and scalpers who took the brunt of the hit, but still.
@@eitak12334 do you honestly believe that the majority of people who bought the UCS Venator bought it for the figures though? Surely they get it for the model and the figs are a bonus? I do agree that LEGO should drop the 'Exclusive' term, like I said in the vid, they could have communicated it better

No I get your point and I did not say you said that, I’m just trying to have a civil discussion around the topic. I was referring to you saying they squeezed out several dozen more sales because of the figure and my point was that I don’t think the majority (my word not yours) who bought it cares about it as they get the value out of the full set. Like you say…it was the investors and scalpers who took the hit, because they probably were those extra several dozen sales. I’m not saying you are wrong, I agree the term ‘exclusive’ was not the right way to go about it.
Cool set and a cheap way to get captain Rex. I wait for it on sale in Russia. I think in a month this set will cost less than 1500 rubles

Hey everyone, two corrections that was pointed out by helpful commentors: First at 0:20 I say '99 cents' instead of pence. Secondly at 2:20 I say 'Zelda's house'...it is Links house. Thank you for setting me straight :)
The only thing that’s stopped me from buying it is the price. It’s $450 AUD which is insane

This set makes me so angry. Ong I loathe it. It is representative of all the flaws with Lego and especially Nintendo combined. The price is the worst price I have ever seen. Hogwarts Castle, for €150 has more pieces. Ik price to piece ratio is a bs way to value a set but still it is over double the price for the same number of pieces and a build that just looks underwhelming
I think the build looks cool, but I agree with everything else 🙂 You don’t even have to check the piece count to see that it is overpriced…and we are talking about LEGO here

300$ for 2500 pieces while there is a Ninjago set that cost 250$ and have 3489 pieces. Even branded it's pretty expensive

Going to need a great organiser to keep all these 2-in-1 spares aside so you don't lose them into other builds 😅 Can't wait to see this one up close. Also.. didn't realise how much I needed ears on my mini figures.
Sadly…I’ve been going over my feelings towards this and I’m considering not getting this. I love whats here and the figs included, but it either needs more figs or a lower price
Incredible looking set! I agree about the price though. I am pretty sure slightly lower prices would increase their revenue.
It’s tough…the price is very high when. you compare it to something like the DnD set (which was also overpriced). This one feels so steep that I’m considering not picking it up.
@@DarkAnimalStudios yeah. I mean the price to produce bricks doesn’t change much (unless they require a new dye). But would be interesting to see what the IPs charge LEGO… could be playing a big role (especially considering that the two sets you mentioned are from Nintendo and Wizards of the Coast 😂)
IP tax is very real, but I also think LEGO is pushing the boundaries a bit to see how much they can get away with…everyone wants Zelda…this will sell well even if the buyers are uncomfortable with the cost
I have never played Zelda games but I think this set is very good
If you have a switch I would highly recommend trying out the latest two, they are amazing. BotW an OoT are by far my favorites
