My passion for horses and the British countryside inspires my artwork. I began my business initially sketching for friends and family and two years later, In 2016 I was commissioned by world dressage champion Charlotte Dujardin (CBE) to produce portraits of her up and coming medal-winning horses.
My work strives to capture the uniqueness and individuality of the subject displayed in each reference photograph.
I hope you will follow me on my artistic journey x

I really enjoyed doing this, thanks!
Bethany, Your work is breath taking. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, and years of hard work. Wishing you a wonderful summer. Sincerely, Cathy Herteman
So happy to see you don’t rub out a lot of lines at once Bethany, I get totally lost when that happens. Your drawings are amazing.😍
Thank you so much for sharing this opportunity 🩷
Thanks for sharing this lesson 😊. I don’t have the paper you are using…which would you recommend out of 1. Arches Hot pressed, 2. Stonehenge Hot Pressed, 3. Hahnemule Nostalgie or 4. Lightfast paper?
AMAZING ❤
this is so underated❤ i love your art
I wish I can just give you a hug now and tell you that everything will be ok... I can relate alot to you. I also draw like crazy sometimes because that's what gives me comfort and disconects me from this world. I also lost my trust in people and relatioships long time ago and I'm alone for quite a few years. Even if I'm fine being by myself most of the time, there is that period of time when you just need someone to encourage you and to give you a hug... It's hard and I think that the only way for us artists, is to find someone that share the same interests and hobbies.(still looking for her) That in my opinion is the perfect match and the most durable relationship, when you do the things that you love, together with the person that loves you... I wish you all the best 🤗🤗
So realistic.. 🤗🤗
Can i use pastelmat
Thank you for this podcast! I really needed to listen to this this week. Just started out recently as a full time artist and there is definitely the fair share of joy and challenges!

!! UNDERRATED !!

Good for you, sounds like you're going to be talking about a lot of taboo subjects. This isn't an easy process but you'll get alot out of it yourself by sharing. I'm looking forward to hearing more. More than that I love your work and tutorials.
Thank you Bethany……can’t wait to have a go at this 🙏
May I ask you what you used colours and pencils base and detail? It’s incredible I would love to give a go but not sure I can
It's amazing how you do this
Thank you so much for the opportunity for this type of drawing. I always wanted to sign up and learn. This year is just to busy :(
I think you are wonderfull and a beautyfull lady and you can by proud off yourself. Excuses for my english.
Hi Bethany I feel like some of the stuff you were saying in this episode ring true with me, I went to university and I felt like they just didn’t understand why I wanted to draw and do portraits when they wanted everyone to do abstract stuff it’s almost like fine art and traditional portraiture isn’t something art schools want anymore.
Mine died last year😢
1:43 - 1:54 "I feel like, just a few years ago, realistic art wasn't as popular as it is today, possibly because social media wasn't so well utilized as a marketing tool for artists." It may also have to do with the fact that society has become a lot more conservative in recent years, and people on the conservative end of the political spectrum often do not appreciate abstract art. Which isn't to say that all - or even most - people who only enjoy realistic art are conservative or anything like that, I'm just referring to general tendencies that I've observed in our society over the years. Great video, BTW, and your art is absolutely stunning! 😍 Very impressive!
Perfect 😍
My dog recently died do you mind making her she was a brown and white French bulldog
Any advice on how to not stress to high heaven when busines is dead lol?
Loved this episode, it is about similar struggles I have at the moment
I've said this before and I'll say it again... thank you so much for these episodes. This topic hits with me. Thank you for always being so authentic and honest.
I hadnt heard of Shannon Mullins - will definitely check her channel out. There are tons of great artist/creative YT channels now sharing in a similar vein. Some with incredibly high production value too, which is impressive given the whole other skill set required. One channel that immediately came to mind I thought you might enjoy - if you're not already familiar - is Brooke Cormier's. Her YT shares are both well put together and do a great job conveying her personality - in addition to details about her work and creative journey. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eZp9qqeHkbyXkdo.htmlsi=fngpR0A-VGKl_xHc

As someone who struggles with this more than anything else, this has been my favourite episode so far! 🤍
Enjoyed your podcast Bethany. You are very natural and authentic! I'm sorry you've had trolls .. I've had a few here and there and I just delete and block them, but I get that it's hurtful. As artists I think most of us are quite sensitive - a good thing in some ways, bad in others! Keep up the fabulous work 😊
I think we can be really thankful that we can't even understand the mindsets of these strange people online. Social media has given these people a new avenue to express their shame. Well done for pulling yourself out of spiraling because of it ❤
thank you for this!
Thank you for this, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better this week. I must admit I've never really understood Pintrest but what you said made a lot of sense so I'd love it if you did more of a deep-dive about it. Week 11 already...go You! xx
Same....never understood it but sounds interesting. SEO...that is one thing I am not so great at lol..
Awww thank you for the recommendation Bethany! 🥹 Loving these episodes!! 🤍
Bethany, that guy was probably a bot. I would just completely ignore this type of comment.
Ignore these trolls that are jealous of your work, your amazing
❤❤❤
How long does it take you to do a horse portrait?
Love you 🤍❤️
Bit of stress here too but i guess I have reasons...commission being very slow again but also 16 year old dog who's gradually nearing that dreaded day. I lost her buddy at the end of Jan so it is still pretty recent. This stupid weather isn't helping matters. Agility shows keep being cancelled and walks are just mudbaths. Even taking the old dog onto the garden to toilet is blighted by heavy rain and she's having to miss her little walks on the field to stop her stiffening up because it's always raining...
Thanks for this episode, Bethany, I needed it. I have been feeling a bit off this week also. I don't know why, because I received a really big commission job. You'd think I wouldn't feel anxious or upset after getting something like that. I just don't get it. The video has helped though. At least I'm not the only one who gets this way. I try not to let the feelings consume me though because if they do, it affects my ability to create any art.
Thank you for yet another very informative video Bethany!
Hey Beth, thanks again for such an honest episode. I really hope you’re ok. Look forward to the next one. 😊
Your podcast has been so inspirational. Thank you, Bethany ❤
