i believe very soon tesla will make auto mag connect charger... so the driverless auto come to the charging station... it can connect to charge without people help... maybe a charger stick? "ready to get sticked cars" can just go up to it for a stick lol
I think Toyota had the better idea: which is to say, make the batteries in EVs hot swappable so that you can charge the batteries without immobilizing the car. Now, Toyota was having robots do the swapping, but I think the batteries should be removeable and replaceable by the owner. That way the owner can charge a spare battery at home while out driving, then swap the batteries for the next day.

So what's the service life of these battery packs? For example, most mobile devices do not have the capability to change them.
If two tesla semi want to charge; then the charger would have to have at least 3 megapack batteries and probably more since cars will also be charging. So maybe 4 or 5 megapacks.
remember that power will be coming into the charging station while charging semi and cars. I presume the grid connection is 3 phase and at least 600 vac...does that make the input essentially 1800 volts at ? amps? maybe 200 amps? 360,000 watts? In 30 minutes charging time the grid will supply about 18kwh. that's not much compared to how much 5 megapacks hold --- 5mega watt hours.
oops, i left out a zero...the 18kwh should be 180kwh input...or about six hours to recharge one megapack?

How can Sandy Munro be called an engineer when he has no engineering degree ? I know his wife has an engineering degree but he doesn't. Tesla has been getting bad results from some of the giga casting so why would you glorify Elon and Tesla from bad gaps in vehicle manufacturing. electric revolution what are you talking about tesla has had to drop prices so far that they have pissed off their customers. Ford and GM cant sell an EV to save their life. And 46% of all EV owners me included will not buy another EV again. this was just a FAD and now its over.

Given time unions collectively bargain their jobs away. How do I know? I was UAW in my youth and watched thousands of well-paid "brothers" lose their jobs. Look around your house or office, can you find anything made in America? We compete in a world market and 2024 is NOT 1964. but what do I know? (Our UAW leadership was dumber than a bag of rocks.) Millions of people South of the border would be thrilled to have those jobs at half the cost.
