My name is Adam Patterson and I am located in Canada. By day, I am a full-time web developer, but in my spare time, I love to make stuff. In my videos, you will find a variety of woodworking projects that I have created out of recycled and found materials. As a father and mountain biker, I enjoy spending time outdoors and capturing my adventures through photography.
I hope you find something useful and inspiring on my channel.

This is very cool!
you can use knifes (only if its soft wood
What a great set and way or storing them!
Perfection.🕰
*Evil smile and admires the watch.* How lovely. Thank you for sharing. *Tips hat.*
Beautiful
Looks good, but no real joinery here. Dovetail, fingerjoint, or even some contrasting splines would elevate the design and add durability. Still very pretty though.
How GOOD are those yellow 0.9mm pentel pacers?
Buenos trabajos
What are the materials. Do you have a book of instructions?
Thank you mate ive lisened to this vidio ten timez and its so relaxin ❤
Even my second one was too loose... I'll try again!
Thanks for the video, I made one but it was too loose to stick together. I'll try again cutting the notches a bit smaller...
😊
Beauty chess board
very nice job
Lovely neat work Adam; you make that double needle stitching look so easy! Thanks mate - I think you've inspired me to give leather work a little try later this year. Thanks again mate.
The stitching wasn't as complicated as I had thought it would be. Well, it hasn't come apart yet!
Can’t find the right size wood wick online so making my own and I’m looking to buy bandsaw what company is yours bandsaw ?
Самый интересный момент на 36:59, ржака
Good Job! i love your work in the leather. ps: im here because r/mechanicalpencils haha
Hey, thanks!
Hi, very interesting video! And very nice machine you’ve made :) may I know how you make the wooden plate moving front and back precisely?
hermosa
beautiful
Love this design, cannot think anything more minimalistic, elegant and functional!
Thanks so much!
Brilliant ❤
Nice job building your clock. I’ve done something in walnut accented with maple or birch dowels. Really looks great the pop against dark wood.
I wanted to use brass but I couldn't think of a way to make a nice cut. Maybe I could use my wood lathe and hacksaw blade. But I like the maple walnut idea, even inverting it with a maple clocks and walnut dowels.
Excellent ❤❤❤ look very much like Hamilton watch.
Really? I still haven't seen Hamilton.
Excellent work. Thank you for sharing your talents 👏👏🌈🇭🇲😀♟👏👏👏
Clear packing tape, works pretty well
It probably would, I actually sent Rockler a Tweet because after this I modified the bit. I enlarged the the hole every so slightly and used a better quality bit. After this board I had made 2 more without issue, no clogging and very little tear-out.
I want it. But not i have such machine
What is tge grip eqiupment you use them
I used a bunch of F clamps
Parabéns excelente trabalho! Very Good!
Would taping the board before drilling reduce tear out?

What Pacific tool are you using to smooth the wood I'm not totally sure
He was using a block plane. It's a small low angle hand plane. A sheet of sandpaper on a flat surface can achieve the same thing
Yup, I was using a block plane. If you keep your eyes open you can find them used for a decent price. But sandpaper will also do the job if you can cut the wood thin enough, but this step isn't necessary.
That herringbone wood pattern is all over the place in furniture shops in my area at the moment, how do you make that on your own? A pencilcase in that would look so nice!
That's a good idea! It's winter here at the moment but I'd love to make another box with some nice pattern work and more advanced joinery.
I made a couple of stars, guided by your video. Thanks! But my stars are a bit "loose" fitting. What can I do to tighten them up a bit without making it too difficult to put together?
You might need to adjust the angle cuts a little bit. I made a few using some scrap pine before I went for it with walnut. And the stars I made years ago do expand and contract with the humidity so during the winter mine are a lot looser than in the summer.
The watch is running very slowly, -588s/day
Very, very nice. Just what I was looking for - a natural candle holder made easy. I am just trying to figure out how to do this without a drill press. Any thoughts?
You can use a cordless drill but the forstner bits grab when they are this big so make sure your holding the wood safe.
Finally, the perfect pitch. Not too sonorous, not aggressive, but with presence. Constant ticking unsettles me, so the right type of 'tick' is very important. I listen to them for focus. Thank you.
Glad you can enjoy it!
Really impressive technique. Who needs Woodpeckers measuring kit. Subscribed pronto.
haha, I do have some Veritas Set-Up Blocks but they were around $100 for 2 sets. these 1x2x3 blocks are amazing and maybe $25 for 2. At least they were when I bought them years ago.
Wondering what you used as a finish?
I use Tung oil, for basically everything. I think it looks nice and is super easy to apply.
What wood did you use? Does any type of wood work?
In the end it was Maple, I started off with Spruce but I learned that different waxes melt at different temperatures and different woods will wick the wax differently. The end result was natural bees wax and maple. Hope that helps!
@@heyimamaker Thx!
This is only the second person out of about 10 that I've seen rapping all that cord around the thing. Most people just make the regular board and use the cord to swing it with
I like to keep it tidy by wrapping it around the bullroarer. When I use it, the cord unwraps nicely.
For future reference, if you make pencil lines across the joints during your dry fit (4:52), it will make lining the pieces up easier during the glue up which will help result in fewer corner alignment issues in the finished board.
If you ever get confident enough to try to make the pieces on the lathe, I would recommend the Yves Tanguy style as it's pretty minimalistic. I learned about the style from WoodYouMakeIt here on KZread and have been able to make a few sets in that style with my limited lathe skills.
I might be able to make some, but they would not be very consistent 😂 I'll checkout that channel!
@@heyimamakerGoing for consistency is definitely a struggle especially when you have a tool that can tell you exactly how much you messed up haha. Pretty just have to accept a certain amount of error though.
That sound is awesome
Better hope you don't catch one of your hands with that blade man..
A healthy respect for the table saw is good, I use push sticks, blocks, or sleds with it's not safe. Otherwise there are situations where those devices can be a bigger liability.
What wood do you find works best?
It really depends on the wax you use, Soy, Paraffin, and Bees Wax all melt and flow at different temperatures. I found that Maple worked best with this Beeswax.
My main product is custom woodwick candles and I've always wanted to make my own Woodwicks to use in them but never knew the process so thank you for sharing. Definitely now a goal of mine.
Awesome, thanks for watching!
