I don't understand how circulating the water will heat the kettle faster. That should be determined by the amount of heat applied to the bottom. If you need to circulate the water you could just stir with a spoon or paddle.
@BenStetson Жыл бұрын
Kirk, circulating the water simulates the stir getting the potentially less heated water in closer contact to the heat source. One could stir by hand and achieve the same results, but it's easy and consistent to run the pump.

Have you ever tried the recipes provided by John Keeling of Fuller's? There are two I've found: one is from the Zymurgy magazine, vol 31 no 5, sept/oct 2008, article titled "Secrets of Brewing ESB". In that article, John really goes into detail of the whole process, even including the parti-gyle style mixture ratios of getting the ESB strength. Second is a book called "Secrets of master brewers", 2017 by Jeff Alworth. In it, both John Keeling and his successor Georgina Young provide an updated recipe, also worth giving a try. The second recipe reveals that they prefer using Tipple and Concerto barley as they have high nitrogen concentrations.

I have not, but I will definitely take a look at them. This is still to date one of the most complex beers (flavor), that I've ever made and it's incredible. I pulled my recipe from "The Electric Brewery", I came across the recipes page while shopping for electric brewing parts and found many to be quite good. Happy brewing!

The electric panel series is lengthy but a lot of info and every step of the build. The next video I hope to have an overview of decisions made and lessons learned with parts etc. For efficiency if I just let it drain and do a top up I'm at 68-69% which still isn't horrible but when I rinse/top up I'm 73-75% and even been as high as 78%.

I usually sent my pressure to 20psi just because its faster and I also have a second regulator off my tank to do it without messing with serving pressure on my other kegs.
