Prestige Reef is a continuously growing video-based free educational resource for all aquarists
When Prestige Reef first started I wasn't sure if anyone was going to be interested in my content, but I wanted to at least try to make a difference for the beautiful saltwater creatures we keep.
The sad truth is many of the amazing creatures die due to a lack of proper knowledge on our part and if i can share my 10 years of experience to prevent others making the same mistakes I believed I could make a real difference to people keeping saltwater tanks.
I couldn't even imagine I'd be where I am now and when I look back to when I first started and from the feedback I have received I know I'm making a difference one tank at a time.
While also getting new people into the marine aquarium hobby...Be warned its addictive...amazing...but addictive.

Jesus Christ loves you
Back when my dad was alive, my mom was a terrible toad-sitter and didn't replace the water, resulting in the toads at the time dying due to dehydration.
I don't agree with Angel fish because I've have 3 in a tank with Real coral but they never nibbled
I really hope this is the time that the Waterbox can finally take off! You've been through the worst time with this tank. All fingers and toes crossed for you!
amazing tank
Thank god there in😊
I hope you plan to qt all corals and inverts too or you might find yourself in This situation again
What do you feed your fish in qt? They look fat as f'!!
Aren't you worries about the hawkfish with the cleaner shrimp in the same tank?
Congratulations
Your 'never quit attitude' is encouraging! Will quarantine everything wet that goes into the waterbox from here on out?
Great stuff , been there done that brought the t shirt & all that jazz , I did 109 days only as the last week I went away & the few days before I didn’t have time but now Qt it all , all the best going forward now , maybe a bacteria shot it some prime ….
Love the scape and the healthy fish. I hope you’ve turned the corner and the tank starts doing well for you! Very nice video, good job.
The scape looks great but personally I’d make it higher, that’s just my personal preference
I am just upgrading to a bigger tank and facing the same question. I have gone for a lower landscape and less of it because I want to maximise the open water for fish and also have fewer, but nice, corals with a bit of separation. Likely LPS dominated. I can always add a bit of height if I end up not liking it
I think the aquascape looks like a pile of rocks. Which it is. But having a perspective look - at 1:20 the right hand pinnacle is getting close to half height. The left side peaks at 1/3 height ish? Add a bunch of coral height to this and all of a sudden the centre area becomes a dead spot as you just won't be able to push flow that far without smashing the left and right coral heights. Start low and build up. Be prepared to move structure. You see every kind of rock pile and structure whilst diving. Fish LOVE structure they can hide in.
Cracking watch and I love the captive bred yellow tang 🙌✨. Nice for a video to focus on the fish. 👍
I must have missed a previous video or explanation as to why the fish were in quarantine for 76 days.
All looking good mate nice one
Delighted for you. The scape does look much better. Also impressed by how bright the tank bread yellow tang is.
Need a lot of help
Gorgeous
I appreciate how well you're documenting issues setting up a new aquarium. When people say saltwater is "easy", I just roll my eyes and turn off the video. My first marine system was established in the days of dry rock and dry sand. And then I had 3 years of non-stop problems and issues establishing it. Which included draining it and culturing the rock, and then draining it a second time to treat a coral eating pest, and then a fallow period after I had Brooke in the tank... It was the 4th year before their was any sense of ease or stability. Then, that tank had a seam failure and my second attempt at a reef tank began rushing into my 'tank upgrade' I had started several months earlier. I had the new aquarium on the stand and not much else, noting plumbed, not enough lights, too few pumps. But the fish and corals went in anyway.... That was this past December. And it's been nothing but a downhill slope since, as the new tank lacked any sense of ecological succession or 'stability' even though it inherited all my live rock and corals. I watched most of my coral die off over the last 4 months, despite all my best efforts in cleaning, testing, treating, and water changes. While experiencing the worst hair algae and cyano blooms I have ever seen. This is the first time I've watch hair algae choke out a coral, because it was growing so fast, I couldn't keep up. And that's with all the usual offenders in a full cleanup crew. There are simply some tanks that are an uphill battle. Those tanks, are what makes this hobby a real challenge. I'm not done with reefing, but I'm certainly taking a step back, trying to maintain what I have, and have no interest in adding anything else for some time. It seems I have another long establishment period ahead of me...
Sounding more upbeat about everything now think the realisation on going to the show has brought you back on track? Looking forward to seeing you at the show in September
Lots going on 👌🙌✌️👏
Hey Ryan, how/what are you feeding the bounce mushroom? Thanks
Ryan is going to work Sam to the bone! 🤣
Fantastic video and Sam was a natural aswell. Can't believe the journey that Convict tang went on 😂😂. 👍
Sam brought the drive back.
Glad you took the young lad on. I take on one uni student every year for work experience and I have my office at home too. I have staff that work from home but the uni guys are always based at my office for 2 days a week. It’s great to try and help the next generation and you will both gain loads out of it.
Just curious. You last mentioned you had UV running on the QT tank due to a bacterial bloom. Were you still running medication in there while that was going? I’ve heard UV can ruin the medications. Might be best to check and make sure you don’t need to redose whatever you were treating with to be safe.
Hammer and chissel on that rock maybe?
I was more interested in the equipment, not enough lighting discussion for my money.😊
Big statement macna/reefpalooza , hopefully not as the date moved so I’m away , enjoy .
Please bring some Banana Cyphastrea to the show if you can. It’s gone from the website
Don’t worry I will
Come to Reefapalooza in Anaheim, California
Greetings from Phoenix, AZ. Ryan you seem really happy and excited! It's awesome to see. Keep up the great work!!!!
That KZread Silver Play Button is not far away
Well done Sam. I hope we see more of you

Very Nice!
Great video update 🍿 I’d love to see how you frag mushrooms 🤔 I need help 😬🤣

Feels like you've got your mojo back 😊
So true
Agreed
Well done Sam and look forward to September mate to see you
Option 2 more likely route I think. Well done in giving the work experience lad an opportunity at your farm 👏
Make a video of the plumbing of the farm, some mistakes you made and would like to avoid in future if you have to rebuild it again
Amazing need to pay you a visit ❤
sps tank is more slavery
If you think clown tangs a bastards, I think reindeer wrasse are just wankers....
