WOA... what have I found...
I was privileged to see Chris and Oliver at a delightful venue in Bearsville (next to Woodstock). Maybe a 100 or so in the crowd- one of their first shows as the Wood Bros. I’m sure all of us were fans of Chris and were largely presold on his older but mostly unknown brother - it had to be good, right? Oh baby! Sublime. He acknowledged that he was still getting comfortable with live performance and I assured him that as soon as he is doing 3 or 4 shows every week that not only does it get comfortable (or better) but one’s level of musicianship takes a QUANTUM hop to a higher level. (I had logged about a decade performing with a pretty successful Pink Floyd tribute so I ain’t just blowing smoke here 😎) Both Woods are wonderful, humble humans and I’m at a loss for words to describe my delight at how they have grown as artists. Holy Moley! Is all I’ve got!😂

The swedish tune in Bb is called "Bas-Pelles Eriks Brudpolska" by Per Wastberg of the band Draupner
AMAZING!!
At 16:17, the song is "A *World* Away", not "A Work Away".....and at 49:15, the band jumps straight into a second instrumental, "Native Stepson" ( the first half was "Milky Way Home", co-written with Eric Johnson).
The resonator guitar was built by Larry Pogreba (Bonnie Raitt has one too); the gold-foil pickup looks similar to those on a Japanese Teisco guitar, possibly one of the modern reproduction pickups made by Lollar.
Gotta love Molly - total all round talent!

Is it a fact that Garcia has been quoted as saying Kimock was his favorite guitar player shortly before his death? Ive seen people saying it in comments, one even said Jerry called him The Little Roaster or something like that. This was some time ago so I can't point anyone to one of these comments, but I have done a short search on the topic and wasn't able to confirm anything. I doubt anyone will see this, but if you do and have a link or something, I'd appreciate it.
I believe it is as I recall reading it or hearing it...definite facts though as it was a shame he or even Hidalgo were not chosen for the 50th over Trey.

It was a survey of GP’s board members. One question asked them to name the favorite unknown guitarist. Garcia named Kimock and Frank Gambale. The nickname Little Toaster (not Roaster) came from his fans.

What an amazing set! Molly is a major talent, playing, singing, song-writing, and stage presence. Killer band! I've never heard of claw-hammer guitar before. Sounds a little like Michael Hedges. Duncan's fiddle strap fascinated me. Thanks for the upload. Looks like a fantastic fest!
