a little about me: I'm from Missouri, attended the University of Alabama where I started this channel in my senior year, graduated in 2021 with my bachelors of social work, moved to Atlanta, entered an advanced-standing MSW program online through Fordham University interning in a youth detention center, graduated in 2022, was hired on working in juvenile justice, and since then have transitioned jobs to be a social worker at a children's hospital working in an ICU setting. subscribe to enjoy the ride!

with hindsight, have you considered the possibility of consequences , not necessarily from you, but other social workers who have left their field of work, that. people who’s actual lives had no opportunity to quit or walk away.. i’m sorry beating around the bush, would a service from somebody who like you is transparent about what actually happens, a place for people to go or contact others who had that life rugs pulled out from underneath their very feet, basically the opposite of what you were doing happy wishes for your future, regardless.. remember that you are always growing & learning, try to stay strong & grounded

Despite our jobs as hospital social workers being so hectic at times, I genuinely do find your work week videos to be relaxing! I’m watching this as I head into this Monday. Discharged 17 patients on Friday so let’s see what awaits me today 😅

Hey Anna! Love your videos. I’m a fellow MSW from Louisville, KY that just graduated and got my CSW. I started working at the hospital as a medical social worker and was curious how you’ve found your income as a medical social worker compares to when you were working at the jail? I heard medical social work typically pays more than community mental health and inpatient psych but don’t feel like my starting salary reflects that.

You have to really enjoy female dominated work environments because very few men can be bothered to choose the field of social work - the ratio is 85% female-15% male. Nobody *EVER* talks about that.
Are "placements" the internships that you get during the Practicum classes? And Do I choose my own company or does the school assign me somewhere ?

I am so excited for you as you embark on this new journey of wedding planning! I haven’t been on KZread for a while but I made sure that when I did get back on, to binge watch your videos to catch up ❤ by the way, it is so interesting that you guys as social workers wear scrubs! At my hospital, we don’t swear scrubs and yet so often, when I walk into a patient’s room, they immediately think I’m a nurse 😂
ahh welcome to your binge!! glad you’re here :)) idk why we get to wear scrubs but I love it for the comfort lol we have different color badges by discipline though which can help distinguish between us but I definitely get mistaken for a nurse often

Hey Anna, do you have house inspections during your tenancy? In Australia, we have house inspections every three months which is super annoying.
We don’t other than required annual safety things (they’ll come to check our fire alarms for example). When we move out, they’ll do an inspection to document any damage (which there shouldn’t be any lol) and then we can get our security deposit back

I have finished my 2 week and I needed to take an extra day off I usually jog/walk 5 days a week This week only 4 I’m signing up for my first 5K I feel like sometimes I am getting better and other days I feel like I’m not improving Is this normal? I’m so excited to sign up for my first 5K race I’m already getting nervous and it’s not til Aug 17th 😂😂😂😂

I’ve swung back towards strength training for fitness and don’t run as much as I was this time last year! It’s not out of the cards for me for the future but I struggled to keep up with it through the winter (I hate the cold) and haven’t really got back out there since then
