The oldest bike shop in America, founded in 1909, and still serving Ontario with Trek and other fine bicycles, accessories, and components. Best service dept in the Inland Empire.
Lloyd Garrison Bumstead founded this shop over 100 years ago and Lloyd Garrison Bumstead and his son by the same name are running the shop today as the 4th and 5th generation to do so. They know bicycles! Whether you are looking for the hottest new concepts in Road, Mountain, Fixed Gear, or BMX, they have the knowledge to help.
The service department is old school. Sometimes you can even get your repair done on the spot. When you do leave the bike for a tune up, repair or upgrade, you know it will be done on time and done right.
Well known throughout the Inland Empire for their fixie selection, you can get a custom build or buy a complete fixed gear bike off the floor.

Thanks for taking my anxiety away. Also found out my bike is a POS lol they crammed that fat wheel in there and it was so tough getting it back in without warping my disc break. Soon as I popped wheel out it shot my disc straight to the frame 😅
@@dead_man_sleez we deal with this problem all the time at the shop changing flats on every brand , some are horrible to work on !
@@BumsteadsBicycles that's terrible. Cheers
Great video
Great video brother! All the best
I am looking for a bike that can do both road and trails. Nothing crazy but it’d be nice if I can go off-road for a bit.
@@cindyknows9220 look at the Aventon Level I have had customers who changed the tires to something with more tread for the dirt and were happy riding dirt trails
@@BumsteadsBicycles thank you! I was doing my research and had my eye on this exact bike.
How do you show a bike and not talk about the sleep mode?
I'm looking at a SE quad or a Stolen Max 29iner I'm needing help , im mainly light trail riding and hitting the neighborhood
@@GolfRemoEchoGolf2 both bikes will work. My preference would be the Quad because of the unique frame design, it just adds to the “ bike geek “ or old school design. Don’t over think it , just enjoy it
@@BumsteadsBicycles thank you
Excellent video with great information to consider!
Biking is new to me and is now my only form of transportation and I just got my electric bike. I can’t even thank you enough for that help. It would take me an hour in over hundred degree heat to get to work without my bike and I was definitely stressed. 😅 thanks so much for making it understandable.
@@jadegilpatrick4802 bicycles are the best transportation on the planet ! Tell everyone you meet
I rented this bike at the trail park and it feels very good riding it.
Thanks for the slow, simple explanation. Mechanical breaks always make me anxious and now I have the wheel off to get fixed! stupid nail!!
Fyi, you do not need to turn the battery on first. Just hold the power button on the controller for a few seconds
Dude, you ROCK!!! Got me out of a jam! Thanx!!!
Easier than I thought! In just need the tools and exact tire tube required, thanks!
What size wrench?
@@rosscauvel8481 most hub drive axles use an 18mm or 19mm. There is no standard , worked on a bike yesterday that had 18mm on non drive side and 19mm on drive side ! Good luck 🍀
Hello Bumstead's Bicycles. I am a 13 year old who has been trying for ages to save up enough money ever since to get my dream bike. It's the Maniacc Flyer and I was really hoping if I could do some video editing, thumbnails, or posters probably for the bike at a discount or gifted to me probably? I would like to use the bike to start content creating since all im stuck with is walmart bikes and I dont think they will help me improve as everytime I crash they just break completely. Please consider 🙏🙏
@@pumpkindero it’s great that you are working to save the money for a bike! We have someone that does our social media work for us but it is awesome that you are asking for work , keep it up the money will come and you will appreciate the bike so much more because you earned it.
FYI,the best bike inner tube I've ever seen is a Fenix thorn-resistant,they're MUCH thicker than regular or even "heavy-duty" inner tubes. they're worth the extra cost.
to fix a flat while on the road, you need the tools,a patch kit with tire levers, and an inflator. Tire Pump or CO2 inflator. a spare good tube is handy,if you can't find the puncture. I missed the part about how to remove a rear wheel that has no connector. Can a connector be installed? hopefully DIY? and don't forget to check the inside of the tire before putting a patched or good tube inside it,make sure there's no nail, screw or wire bit remaining to repuncture your tube.(it's happened to me...) and having a small pliers to pull out a tiny wire bit really helps.
Terrible audio. Stop the frugality and invest in a ClipOn microphone similar to what the guests on late night TV talk shows wear and use.
I watched another video and it was brought up about the hydrolic brakes when turning the bike upside down you could have spongy or no brakes at all, just saying!
Carnt hear shit that music is the worst ever
I was catching hell trying to get my back rim off my ebike and your video helped me tremendously. Thanks a lot now I ride with new tires thanks to you.
I purchased a Big Sur 26" Ebike in Matte Black finish and after almost 200 miles, while I enjoy it, I expected much more out of the torque sensor and LCD display. I found those short little test rides at bike shops may not truly reflect the performance of the bike. My 1st long ride was right after I purchased the bike as I did not have my QuikrStuff bike rack yet or another rack suitable to transport the weight of this bike so I rode it around 19 miles home. As I watched the battery level decrease during my ride of mostly flat Houston metro landscape and adjusting my assist levels down, I had to be careful with my pedal rotation speed and really watched the display when I got down to 10% to monitor the Watts used. Another trip along Buffalo Bayou through Terry Hershey Park and Addicks Dam area, I managed around 40 miles and used 70% of the battery but to do this I kept it in level assist 1 and pedaled at a very slow rpm and speed between 10 and 13 miles an hour in a 3.5 hour ride or so. The next day at the bike shop I asked if there was a way to adjust/refine the assist levels to allow more effort on the cyclists part to contribute to the ride as I found it way too easy when pedaling at a normal cadence and it just increased the speed and wattage used depleting the battery faster and was told no. I am also not aware of an app that can link to the LCD panel such as the one on the new Velotric commuter bike I purchased for my wife that same day and which also comes with a find my bike feature. Maybe I have not figured out how to reset trip mileage vs total mileage and see other interesting statistics for rides but I hope AIMA adds these features and makes it available for the existing bikes that were sold. Torque sensor needs to be adjustable to rider to allow them to provide more effort. Can ride without battery assistant but in the 8th gear it takes a lot of effort.
Would have liked to see the washer direction on camera at the end
Theres a lot to said about the Fisher diamond frame on the Trek. Its proven and along with propriotory aluminum alloy will handle rougher trails rhan the Ramblas. Also, there is very little noise on the Trek as well with no battery or cable rattle. The frame is probably more robust too.
Can I use other brand electric wheels with fiido
@@abcbarbrabear not sure what would be compatible. Check with a local shop or the manufacturer
After I had my heart attack I've never been the same just can't handle those hills anymore I need the help
Not a single full wide shot of the bike. Amazing that you managed to pull this off over a seven minute timespan.
I’m in Orlando but if I lived there, I would buy from you. Great review.
Great explanation bro
My first "serious" bike was a Trek, purchased in 1979 from a small, local bike shop that was also just starting out. 45 years later that shop is the largest and best-respected shop in town, and still selling Treks (and also the Cannondale that I currently ride). I was looking at ordering a Ramblas online until I discovered another small local shop that carries them. I just visited the shop, had a nice chat with "Ben", and planned to test-ride a Ramblas next week. So it's looking like deja vu all over again: I'll be buying a bike from the new-kid-on-the-block bike builder through the new-kid-on-the-block bike shop. Here's hoping history repeats itself for this new brand and bike shop and for my long-term enjoyment of the bike... I still have the '79 Trek. Support your local bike shop!
Thank you SO MUCH! Got my first flat on my Aventon Level2 and I changed it by myself using your video. I used another video for the actual tire changing part. So grateful!!
Om an ebike you should always be in a full face helmet for motorcycles; you go MUCH slower but they are overkill and that's the point.
very helpful
So how do I decide between this and Specialized Turbo Levo
I prefer Treks suspension design but I am biased . A good bike shop that you feel like they will take care of you is the most important thing to look for. Shop for a bike shop then the bike 🚴
If I like to raise the handlebars higher so I don't have to bend over while riding the bike is that possible?
You would have to change the stem or bars to get the position you want
Thanks you! that was very well done - my new e-bike is the same as in the video even the same color. Out for a ride this morning / 30 miles made it home. came out to the garage to fined a rear flat. So the video is spot on, 😊thanks again .
Thanks! A really comprehensive and great review! Keep on with the videos! You see so much models and names and confusion is imminent. This helped a LOT
3:29 - 4:00 The type of seat is why I just ordered one in that style. I hope it can be peddled like a "normal" bike. I bought it for the seat comfort. The old fashion saddle will give one a numb crotch on long rides.
I'm sorry to say this but I just have to say this after watching all these videos about bikes. It doesn't mean it doesn't matter if it's just a regular standard pedal bike mini bike gas bike or e-bike. There's none of them. It's a bicycle
Lloyd, your content is great, but please put more effort into the quality of the audio. It would vastly improve your videos.
Why do you have that annoying music so that you really can’t understand what you’re saying?
Excellent information for the new or experienced E-Bike rider. Thanks you for putting this out.
I put some in and they made me a lot slower
It can’t be this easy there’s no way. Everytime a repair video on a car looks this easy it’s a nightmare. Might be different since it’s just a bike but we’ll see.
Good luck 🍀
@@BumsteadsBicycles thank you, youre video helps me have less anxiety about it, thank you
When choosing an e-bike the most important thing is how well it goes, and how well it stops. So get the biggest battery and the best hydraulic disk brakes After that, it’s just cosmetics
My wife and I just bought the Big Sur for her and the Santa Monica (another AIMA product). We liked them very much. They had Aventons but they just didn't appeal to us. Not sure the Aventons have torque sensor either. Seems to me they were using cadence. The torque sensor is way better IMO.
Awesome video! I no longer fear taking the tire off on my Aventon!
Can’t hear you talking because of music.
Thank you!
Its designed for flat surfaces, riding uphills isnt suited to flatfoot tech.
