I see you have a box of Cheez-Its. What flavor do you recommend for a new carver just starting out?
Jeff: I have been doing a lot of KZread watching for wood carving and some of the creators just don't realize what it takes to get good knives. Helvie has a 16 month waiting list. A year and a half. If you want to start carving now, you can not get a Helvie knife. Ebay has a few that are way over priced. Not many. Drake knives have a 6 month waiting period. Then next tier down are available immediately. OCCT, Badger State Blades. I even use an old Flexcut that I have honed razor sharp. But the truth is, the best knives are not obtainable now. Unfortunate. But realistic.

Jeff, This is a good video. My dad was from Seymour Mo. Perry J. Silvey, his uncle was the oldest sheriff in the country. His name was Pistol Pete Silvey. I know Seymour is not a very big town and was wondering if you know any Silveys down there. I am Carl Richard Silvey. We lived in Mansfield Oh when I was a boy. Dad had 3 siblings Ramond, Lenord and a girl, can't remember her name at the moment. I happen to see this and thought I would send you a message.

oh jeff your on oxygen sad to see ive seen treatment for emphysema where they block air to damaged parts of the lungs which dramatically helps people , that i saw on USA news, i dont know if this is suitable for your health condition, there are also certain foods and oils to avoid apparently canola oil is one to avoid, beetroot and also hibiscus tea help dilate blood vessels improving oxygenation, the olympians here in Australia use it, its a non drug cheat . i like the christian aspect of some republicans but your right republicans and our aussie liberal party hate renewables which shows they're corporate puppets. i know we dont see eye to eye but i dont like seeing anyone suffer. the west is in steep decline too many nut jobs at the wheel and on all sides, i guarded reporters politicians etc they are all bs artists and they're all puppets, worst part people believe their lies. zephyr valve is the thing they use for emphysema
I went with Flexcut's Micro Gouges. Very nice and very sharp. I really like them.

Well Billy you are NOT correct but that has been long long time ago .Democrats separated themselves from the Klan and denounced your Klan friends. THE DEMOCRATS NEVER STARTERED THE KLAN ! It was after the Civil war that it was started by Southerners from the south to terrorize the blacks. Klansmen were influential inside both major parties, pushing racism, nativism, Prohibition and especially anti-Catholicism. In the South, Jim Crow-supporting Democrats made a natural fit for the KKK. But in Midwestern industrial towns full of immigrant Catholics and Jews who voted Democratic, the Klan took root largely among Republicans. The Klan was Democratic in Oregon and Republican in Indiana - two of its biggest strongholds. By the end of the decade, the organization, whose membership remained semi-secret, claimed 11 governors, 16 senators and as many as 75 congressmen -roughly split between Republicans and Democrats.

Hi Jeff, I was looking for a video to enforce my views on starting cheap, this is perfect! I do wonder, since you use the 'V' tool pulling toward yourself, if you have ever tried a 'V' tool scorp? I've not tried a 'v' tool scorp, but love a wide shallow Flexcut scorp for shallow spoons and the action is much like using a kniife.

However, I can’t believe you supported Biden and Harris, the most incompetent President and Vice President in the history of the country. How could you support Biden, when he was the most corrupt vice president in our history? All those dealings with his son, Hunter? Then the complete cover-up by our mainstream media?Are you kidding me? And he’s been wrong on every foreign policy decision in his entire career. Now there’s the southern border debacle. It ruined many things in this country. Thousands of businesses shut down. Without the coronavirus, Trump would’ve won in a landslide! It would’ve been 90 million votes to 40 million. The Democrats, being the lowlifes that they are, fully politicized it. Harris even said she wouldn’t take the vaccine because Trump developed it. Now we have a lot of people not wanting to take the vaccine as a result. How many lives did that cost? And your views on Tucker Carlson are wrong. He pretty much calls it like it is. I view politics like this: whichever one is not affecting my personal freedom,or infringing on any constitutional rights,gets my vote. I didnt like Bush.Liked Obama at first until i saw him continue Bush policies. Definitley not a fan of biden/harris. They are communist to the core. The best way to save the planet is cull the herd and pfizer/moderna are doing a good job at that so far. Yuri Bezmenov was 100 % correct i n his assessment of infiltration of our colleges and political parties.

They just made him acting Mayor. His latest opinion piece is about the US census done on our town population which has dropped by 80 people. He said it was more or less Biden that did it to his town. Weymour said our population has went up much higher than what the census said. He went on to say that the Dems did it purposely to cut some Federal funding to seymour because it's always been mostly a Republican voting town. Bullshit. He and his opinion has gotten people to leave Seymour, not Biden. Just more shit for him to stir up and keep Dems and Rep hating each other.

@@TheWindTurbineKing I saw a scientist interviewed, who said wearing a mask to prevent this virus from from spreading was equivalent to trying to prevent a fly from flying through a chain-link fence. The only thing a mask does, is if you sneeze or cough, it prevents the germs from going 20 or 30 feet into the air. That’s it. The germs still get out and can infect people. Only a N-95 mask will really protect you. Don’t believe the hype.

They are absolutely not out of business! Helvie is a small "Mom & Pop business, run by two incredible people who have full time jobs outside of the knife company. Pay attention to the message on their website for notice on when a small stock of knives will go on sale. Also: look at the "signature series" knives on their site and contact each of those carvers directly. They often have new knives available on their individual websites.
