🤛🏾😎 just put crank and bearings in my 0610r and second ride that rattle started...but it is the original oem tensioner so almost 20yrs old and bound to go bad. Gotta order one of those manual ones for sure.👍🏽🏁🏁🏁 Good post well explained.

Is it necessary to remove the pan to access the drain plug? What size the drain plug 'o'ring?

Great video. I have a 21 as well with the same loud crunchy sound from 1st to 2nd shift. What causes this? I notice around 3k rpm shift practically sucks into gear but most other times I get the crunch sound.

is it better to have more gps speed, maybe 200kmh or is it irrelevant? OE speedometer is not linear, more speed less correct is.

I just use automatic chain tensioner on my Z900. When chain makes noise for more that 2000-3000km and tensioner dont do it itself (and it never did), i adjust it one click (2 small bolts loosened until one click is heard). Its like MCCT :D I did it 3-4 times in past 72500km.

You shouldn't solder cables in any vehicle, this was a lesson learnt from the aerospace industry, due to vibrations the solder cracks and creates a break quicker.

Thanks! I just needed to modify the gas pedal. I screwed on an extender to bring the gas pedal closer to the brake. These are some parts I bought off ebay and made them fit using aluminum pieces. This makes revmatching much easier.

It's less confusing to convert liters the can holds to milliliters and then divide by 50 to get the amount of oil to add in milliliters for 50:1. So a 5 liter can equals 5,000 milliliters, (just multiply by 1,000) then divide 5,000 by by 50 equals 100 milliliters of oil to add to a 5 liter can for a 50:1 mix.

Btw the timing mark is to put pistons 1 or 4 at tdc not both so make sure you’re not 360 degrees out on your measurements. You can check this by seeing if the cam lobes on pistons 1 or 4 are engaged then you can continue to measure the valve spacing.

It isn’t that relays are used where you need more amperage than a switch can provide or else they would just make higher-amperage switches with the same contacts that go in a relay. No, a relay is when you need a switch that is electrically actuated instead of requiring you to physically flip/turn a switch. The reason you might think otherwise is because one of the biggest reasons to use a relay is to switch a high amp circuit on/off with a low amp circuit. For example, you don’t want all the amps from your headlights or starter going through the ignition switch, so the key on and start positions merely trigger a relay that gives fully power to the starter or headlights.

Impact gun is safest (both for you and for motorcycle) way do undo that nut. I have relatively strong pneumatic impact gun (over 2000Nm - 1500 ft-lbs) and had no problem with that nut on my 2020 Z900.

Great tips. I just got a 2009 Ninja 500R. It hasn’t been run in a few years, so I’m taking one issue at a time. I have it started but no headlight. The bulb is good, the connector is good, the ground is fine and the hi / low switch seems fine. When I turn the key all the other lights come on but no headlight. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The reason all modern sport bikes have cam chain noise is because that’s how they’re designed. My uncle just retired as a senior mechanical engineer at Honda and he was explaining to me that over the years they discovered a direct relationship between the strength of the tensioner and cam chain components (guides, chain, sprockets). Through research they found that they could greatly reduce the amount of wear to the timing components by using a less powerful tensioner. Does this mean more noise and a unit that wears out faster, yeah, but it also means much more longevity for the engine.

I know you can damage the motor if not enough oil gets into the fuel mix. What if you accidentally put too MUCH oil in the mix? Is there a downside, other than dirtier exhaust?

Hey brother what kind of nut socket did you get. Is it the normal square or a special one . And by the way I need it for a 2009 one. I seen newer models that use the regular socket but this one seems to have like a star one .
