Thank you bro! I was struggling with replacing my rear wheel trying to get the wheel in with the caliper still in place rather than installing it last which makes complete sense

Hey man.. thanks for the video. I got a question about installing the left side spacer (the sprocket side). The spacer has a thicker side and a thinner opening side. Which side goes into the wheel?
@toddrogers92826 жыл бұрын
Is there a spacer underneath the sprocket hub. If so how did you prevent it from falling out.
@wedginator12 жыл бұрын
@DATBOIRO It could be the spacers not being in the correct side. Have you tried switching the spacer around? Or it could be the tight tolerance between the swingarm. Sometimes it can be a pain to fit the wheel back on.

this was helpful, thanks. mine is an 01 and its still in pieces cause im still waiting on my new sprockets and chain. i have been concerned about gettin the chain tension and alignment right when i put it back on cause this is my first time doin this. i got it used so i dont have a manuel, do you know where i could find the torque specs for the axle nut and stuff?
@2289rainbowmount44674 жыл бұрын
can you also use copper- grease instead on the axel and treat ?
@wedginator11 жыл бұрын
That pulls the axle blocks tight against the tensioning bolts.
@DATBOIRO12 жыл бұрын
@wedginator I fairly certain they're on the correct sides as one has a little lip and the with said lip will only fit on one side. But I can't get the spacers in with the caliper mount. I"m lost.

What is the reason that you place the metal piece between the chain and sprocket when you tighten the nut? Thanks

how many spacers did you have ? i have two and don't remember where the other one fell from

What kind of grease do you use? Best recommendation? I use white lithium grease for small pivot points but am not sure whether to use it on wheel bearings. What's your opinion?

Hey man great video but what if I moved my Adjusters when taking off the tire on accident how would I get them back to where they were
@wedginator13 жыл бұрын
@WildBill1006 I did have a bit of concern in the past so I've decided to do it with one bolt first. It didn't back out. Even with antiseize the bolt was still torqued on good at time of removal, but removal was easier. The bolt without antiseize was actually seized and I ended up stripping the bolt. I'll post that video later. Took me 2 hours to drill it out.
@wedginator12 жыл бұрын
@newchips I just use standard axle grease.

I have a P7, same bike, and this is a pain the ass. Not contradicting the vid, it is great, but I didn't have such an easy time. There is absolutely zero tolerance between the swingarm/spacers/caliper mount - get it perfectly aligned or it all falls apart. A two-person job, we ultimately maneuvered a brick under the tire to help set up. Maybe with repetition this task becomes easier but I had a difficult time. btw - according to the kawi svc manual, you only need to grease the cush drive.

What type of grease are you using for the axel?

So you're saying as you had the wheels on the floor, the rear tyres brake disks weren't touching the floor?

No bolt is hard when you have a 3 ton truck jack handle as a breaker bar. 😀

if you haven't figured it out yet, caught your post from 9 hours ago, take a look at an on-line parts schematic for your bike. Those generally help figuring it all out.
@Supra2winTurbo9811 жыл бұрын
No worries... the parts schematic was the first thing i did but it doesn't show a clear picture of the spacer. I figured it out though... The thicker part goes against the swingarm...
are you not afraid that using anti seize will have a reverse effect and loosen the bolts with the vibrations of riding. The reason i ask is cause at the tire shop I work we have to (protocol) clean off all anti seize of the lug bolt (stems)and hubs for that reason alone.

Question! My girls 2013 636 been pulling to the rite" so I checked her adjustment blocks at the rear, The one on the Gears and clutch lever side is just off to the left of the line! but just a little, is this ok? or should I align it back? and how can I do that? TY and ride safe.

Even being off a little can make the bike pull to either side so definitely make sure they are exact on each side when u adjust chain.

I think it's a but more of a fiddle on my GSXR as the calliper needs to be in place when the rear wheel is inserted and it keeps falling out of the stupid slot in the swing arm. Last time I done this I knocked the pads out of the calliper with the disk and bent the anti-rattle clip. doh!
@wedginator11 жыл бұрын
That's what I'm saying. Watch the video again, you'll see a good half inch of clearance from the disk to the floor.

Prop the wheel up so that it's roughly in line with the swingarm. Tape the brake caliper bracket into position. Position the wheel as far back as possible so that only about two or three millimetres of the left-hand spacer (chain side) touches the inside of the swingarm. Looking at the right hand side you'll see that the spacer overlaps by about 2mm. Fear not! Put the tip of a large flat head screwdriver or similar on the wheel hub in front of the spacer and pry the right-hand swingarm out by a few mmm until you can push the wheel and spacers forward between the swingarm. Ease the screwdriver out of the way and the swingarm will clamp the wheel and spacers into place. Cut the tape holding the brake caliper and line up the holes. You should then be able to fit the axle without much difficulty.

You must be a noob. Where did you see the disk touch? My rear tire is wide enough for me to place the wheel flat and have plenty of clearance for the disk.

Jesus, leaning it wheel down on the brake disk, what a stupid mistake! It can warp the disk.

does chain lube work the same as grease?
