HEN3DRIK - Electroplating 3D Prints

HEN3DRIK - Electroplating 3D Prints

Moin, in this channel I present different ways how you can make crazy stuff with your 3D printers, 3D printing or other stuff. Often it is electroforming/electroplating, as how to deposit metal on prints. If you have any questions, feel free to comment, I will answer (almost) everything. 😃

These are some ingrediens I often use for electroplating:
Chemicals
🛒 Bright Copper Electrolyte: amzn.to/3zk2S1F *
🛒 Conductive Copper Paint amzn.to/47cpbpR *
🛒 Palladium Electrolyte amzn.to/3DDr8hD *
🛒 Gold Electrolyte (Pen) amzn.to/44NNwRp *
🛒 Gold Electrolyte (Bath) amzn.to/3QJoInD *
🛒 GRAPHITE Paint amzn.to/3YtPZhD *
🛒 Galvanic Degreaser amzn.to/3rV4v5r *

🛒 PEAK Tech 30A: amzn.to/3V5rdo7 *

@HEN3DRIK Could you post the model that you purchased? Also, could you talk a little bit about the type of resin that you used? I've tried printing these parts with Siraya Tech's Fast ABS-Like resin, but I'm getting distortions in my prints to where things don't always match up very well.

I purchased this one: cults3d.com/de/modell-3d/spiel/hd-master-sword-game-accurate-sword-legend-of-zelda I then modeled a cylinder for the rod in there. I cannot remember what resin I’ve used but I think it was anycubic or elegoo basic resin.

What’s the point of doing 3 layers? Copper, nickel, gold. Why not to leave copper (rose gold)? Why not gold over copper? Why not gold right onto conductive paint? Nube here, hello😅

Thanks so much for the upload. You're the reason I'm getting into electroplating. I was wondering if you had a link to that rotary jig or something like it? Thanks, again so much. I'm eager to try my hand at this. Keep up the good work. Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, whoever looks with lust has already committed adultery in their heart. If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But God is not willing that any should perish. Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you.

Hello, exactly which Binder product have you used? The graphite powder and acetone are clear, but there are many Binders and small differences make it impossible to use them with an airbrush.

Awesome work my friend. Your attention to detail is amazing. I do have a tip on the primer sanding step though. If you use a contrasting color of primer and put a very light dusting coat over the grey, it will show you all the low spots and scratches because they stay the contrast color as you sand until they are actually gone. This is an old body shop trick called Tracer coat, or guide coat. It will enable you to get a perfect finish and those scratches and low spots can't hide from you. This also works with wet sanding as well, which is my preferred way to sand parts. Less mess and the slurry helps the process.

im really struggling with copper plating a 3d print i used a graphite paint that stated specifically for electro playing, i buffed it too, i have tried to use copper acetate insteaf of copper sulphate, as i had acetic acid already how ever no matter what i set the voltage or current to, i get minimal plating that is spotty, and the part ends up covered in a brown crud instead, what am i doing wrong ?
