    Very well done ! This reminded me of when I was between 10 till 16 years old. Our parents had a sail boat on the lake. No engine. If the wind was wrong you had to push and pull, use ropes and the reap hook, and all you needed to get on your way. There were people who paddled 20, 30 maybe 50 meters before they hoisted the sails to be safe out of the harbor. When they came back this went the same way in return. I never ever needed to do that. My father learned me from day one how to it. How to read the wind, make use of it. It could be chaotic and noisy with a lot of sail flapping around. And it never went wrong. We pushed the boat out of the berth and pushed it around with the reap hook and we were off sailing. Within a few weeks I did this solo. It was so satisfying do be able to do such things. Best memories with my father.

    You did a great job very nice work. I know that’s not easy to do. That’s tough to park boat because when the wind blows it moves and it’s very hard and very easy to crash that too, but that’s good that you have all that electronic stuff that boat that makes a hell of a lot easier.

    I would move it to a proper slip. That’s too big and it’s more money too cause you have to pay for that extra room. You know if it was me, I would move it to the size of the boat slip.

    if you own a white boat, waxing is throwing money down the drain, it doesn't show if it's waxed....colored ones are another matter

    Wax or ceramic or any other protective coding is less about the showing and more about actually protecting the gelcoat from the elements. Gelcoat is porous and becomes oxidized quickly when unprotected.

    @elevateYachts: so how would you rate the X60 as a family vessel in the 60 feet class versus other competitors? what didn’t you like ? what’s your favorite 60 feet yacht for a family to recommend ? Best Regards, Martin

  • @ElevateYacht
    @ElevateYacht20 күн бұрын

    Great questions! First of all, the X60 was a home run by Prestige. Aside from this video, I took my family and another family out on this boat for a full day on the water with kids and it was a great entertainer. Unique, smart design features, great layout. Love: bow seating, huge flybridge, beach club, helm door and the two large sliding glass doors. So-So: small crew quarters, docking starboard side takes a little prep due to removed side deck but I get the value of removing that side deck. Prestige did a great job in evolving the X-Line, revolutionizing the interior/exterior space allotment and improved the fit and finish. Aside from this, personally my favorite is the Sirena 58. 17’7” beam on a 60’ boat is massive and give so much more entertaining space. Killer layout. CE A category rated for full ocean going capability. I’ve gone a few videos on this model and other Sirenas. Sounds like some fairly dialed in questions that I’d be happy to dig into further with you on a private call or email. I’ve spent tons of time on both the X60 and Sirena 58 and happy to chat through any further questions and experiences. Email any time to set something up - [email protected] Cheers!

    Thanks for the vid, our daughter just got a 2004 Bayliner 2655 and the water smelled so bad like sulphur as we ran faucet. it's a 30 gallon tank and I can see on port side of stern in engine well. Going to look for a filter and clean and fill multiple times with bleach and rinse till clean so we can use for at least washing hands on boat and for toilet. I may even remove tank if possible and hit the inside with a pressure washer.

  • @ElevateYacht
    @ElevateYacht26 күн бұрын

    Glad the video helped! Definitely sounds to me like old water sat in the tank too long. Open all faucets and showers and let all the water drain out, then pour half cup or more of bleach into the tank, stick a hose in and continue to rinse out the faucets and tank. You may have to do this a few times. Thanks for watching!

    There are Boats of All Kinds. From Tiny Paddle Boats & Jet Skis to Small SailBoats, Speed Boats, and Pontoon boats, then up to medium size vessels like yachts and other boats, then up to commercial passenger vessels, and finally to the large lake Freighters which are the Symbols and Icons of the Great Lakes.

    So when the yacht is cruising, is it common to leave the generator running?

  • @ElevateYacht
    @ElevateYachtАй бұрын

    Personal preference but running the generator allows use of heat/ac, power to larger systems, battery chargers and also powers seakeeper, so depending on the day and conditions, the generator can be very useful.

  • @ElevateYacht
    @ElevateYachtАй бұрын

    Glad the video was able to shed some light on cruising in our neck of the woods! It’s safe to say anything in the mid 50s or less shouldn’t have a problem fitting in most harbors. Sure there may be a few spots that have very limited slips/availability for larger vessels but with a little planning and research, anyone with a larger vessel shouldn’t have any issues either. Thanks for watching and commenting!
