Julius Erving scored 12 points in Game 5 and passed up a number of shots that he would usually take. Okoren was a good defender but 12 points. Go back and look at the whole game. He grabbed 19 rebounds that day. It's almost like he became a role player that day.

This video shows the difference between wanting to win and wanting to be great for greatness’ sake. Lebron wants to be the system on every team he’s on. In a Lebron-led offense, the entire offense goes through him. Because he can’t stand the Westbrooks, Hardens, Doncic, and Jokics of the world getting more points and triple doubles than him. Unlike Lebron, Jordan was able to sacrifice potentially getting more triple doubles than Oscar Robertson and Magic Johnson so that the Bulls could run their triangle offense. He also put in the effort on defense, night in and night out. Lebron only cares about chasedown blocks but can’t be bothered to move laterally on defense, preferring to play safety and gamble in the passing lanes. By doing whatever it takes to win and sacrificing, MJ became great. By trying to become great, Lebron won less. Ironic but true.

The referees used to tell the younger referees that if Jordan goes to the hole and if there's a crowd there then just blow the whistle. That's what the refs are programmed to do.” - Tim Donaghy. It's easy to be one of the greatest, when you have the greatest sixth man ever the referees.

I don't understand why these videos of individual comparison of a team sport have any relevance. I'm so grateful I grew up in the era that didn't have social media. It allowed me to appreciate the opportunity to witness all of the great players and teams without any concerns about who was the greatest of all time. MJ is just like all of the great players that came before him. They got their butts kicked until they reached that point of time for them to experience winning championships. From individual perspectives the only two players that went into the NBA and instantly became focal points for their teams success of making it to the finals and winning as a rookie were Magic and Bird. Of course we know Magic not only won the championship but also Finals MVP. Larry Bird actually won rookie of the year that season over Magic. I don't appreciate the GOAT discussion or the constant videos of MJ and LeBron being the greatest of all time. Especially when people are disrespecting all of the great players and most of all the great teams that paved the way for MJ to even have an opportunity to showcase his talents. The same goes for LeBron. Here's a point from history that encouraged my prior comments. Had the ABA maintained it's league, where would the NBA be today. Prior to the merge between the ABA and the NBA ticket sales were very low for the NBA. People were more interested in watching the ABA because of Dr.J The increased notoriety of the ABA and the public's desire to witness such high flying dunks forced the NBA into the merge. I'm sure the lack of financial capabilities and television contracts or connections by the ABA played just as much a role in the merge also. That's why it's so disappointing to me when I see these GOAT debates because many great players had their personal stamp on this game in numerous ways. Dr.J is a very significant reason why the merge happened and the NBA was transitioning into something great. Magic and Bird came along and enhanced that. Then MJ came along and took it to higher heights than ever before. Then LeBron comes along and exceeds all expectations and continues what MJ had already improved. The torch continues to be passed so who f.....g cares about who is the GOAT

WTF is this Pippen jock sniffing advert. Pip ppg average was what barely 17 on a goood day now go enjoy reality buddy. Jordan gave Pip a hall of fame career, understand that sitting on the sofa reading gossip magazines, Lol. If Pip did not like the Championships we would not have heard about it DECADES later. NEVER once was there ever a mention of a unhappy Pip or asking to be traded bc we aint stupid and neither was Pippen. When Pip had the moment to step up he bitched out bc Phil called the play for TK and not him, after his LeBron like meltdown no teammate respected him...psst he still didnt ask for a trade. MJ cameback and they ran another 3 championships and wdyk Pippen still never complaained to anyones god about being unhappy. FP.

The debate is manufactured by media that can't create enough hype because they lack. . . .well. . . .creativity. Proof is that how can he face a bunch of MVPs when he IS the MVP? How can he face a top team when they ARE the top team? Media are clowns.

People often don't realize or choose to ignore how many games that Pip, Rodman, Harper, Kukoc etc missed in the Bulls 2nd threepeat with only MJ not missing a single game, and yet they still dominated. As to where I'd rank the 97 Bulls, no lower than 3rd, maybe even equal 2nd with the 86 Celtics.

Saying Philadelphia kept him at bay is hilarious considering the Bulls blew out Philadelphia 3 times and in all 3 games Jordan sat out the entire 4th Quarter of games that he was having a good game. Sounds like they really kept him in check by not putting up a fight. Also while Jordan sat out those blowout games AI played all 12 minutes in the 4th quarter of games he knew he wasn't going to win. Big difference.

I did enjoy the comparisons but the team vs team records are irrelevant. You can’t compare 5 hall of fame Celtics against MJ by himself and give it a win for Bird. It was never just Larry. That’s absurd. Also Prime Kobe and Shaq against MJ’s Wizards? We really going to take the those wizards losses as MJ losses? Aside from that it was fun to see what the top 75 players did against each others teams while playing against each other.
