Thank you for this, I'm looking to book for November with a friend and I can't wait now, unless we go elsewhere, we're putting countries in a hat and picking one out, but it's somewhere I've always wanted to go to
Mexico is AWESOME, lived their for three years by way of Las Vegas.
My whole life I’ve never heard of a cheese slipper (have lived in KC for all of that life). I want to try it, though! It’s fun to know everything and still learn more from this area!
Lovely video, Aimara & Gordon. Just a quick question: Did you need to fill out any online forms prior to entering Malaysia? Something like SG Arrival Card? Thanks!
I believe Tentúgal pastries have a certain touch of nothern african (Magreb) pastries.
I feel bad for English kids that they have to learn the English language. No wonder they have spelling bee competitions. They basically don't know how to write a word unless they're tought. Having a alphabet is pointless considering every letter is spelled differently according to... nothing basically there's no rules, although they might contradict me on this but it feels like it's true cuz they say something but write something different. What's the point to have letters if you don't use them in speech and also the letters sound different according to different words. It's nice to remember and celebrate tradition but we shouldn't get stuck in them. You'd think we'd all speak one language by now and we'd choose one where the letters are not "silent". But then again they still don't wanna use the metric system although is 10 times better.
Hi. Could you please tell me the name of the place in Breb that you stayed with the animals? It looks so beautiful, and we are going there in a few weeks. I'd love to stay there too.
Do you know anything than eating?
Yeah i have lived near kcmo all my life and have never heard of them together. While you guys were talking about it. I was like the server and like what?! Lol definitely must be a Kansas thing lol
Lived in KC all my life, 49 years. We had chili and cinnamon rolls for school lunches all the time and still continue to eat it. But I’ve never heard of a cheese slipper.
❤
Dont travel with transtar bus, often late, often last minute announcement, drive much slower than other bus, 90 minutes longer and no toilet on the bus.
I sure had fun there. I need to go back!
im about an hour away on the MIssouri side... cinnamon rolls and chilli is less popular here but we had it for school lunches
Nice video
We love you and watched all your Romania videos. We were very inspired by the sites you visited (and the name you gave the communism victims site visit). After watching many videos from other channels we can honestly say that we relate most to your traveling style. We plan on visiting Romania next year, thank you for sharing your travels. maybe if you visit Romania next year also we can grab a beer or a palinca. :)
I do my cinnamon roll chili combo like biscuits and gravy. Sooooo good
50+ years in KC. There is no such thing as this chili concoction you mention. Tumbleweed Kansans like to associate with KC... Also Jackstack lamb ribs are the best!!!!
How long was the trip? How many bus stops for toilet breaks?
Chili and cinnamon rolls was made up for the internet
Y’all went to the dotte! That was brave
I’m from Kansas city and I’ve never heard of a cheese slipper
You suck 😢
Visiting Sri Lanka next month solo and I can't wait!! I'm so excited. I've been watching lots of vlogs and videos but I have to say, yours is the best one! Thank you for sharing all the information in such great detail and also for conveying such warmth and excitement about this country. 🙏
Hello!! Is it recommender to visit on November? I have heard it's a rainy season, would it ruin the travel?
I hate people who put a fake "friendly" smile the whole time just for a video🤮
Okay, Joes does have amazing burnt ends.
There are better bar b que places in KC. Next time try Jackstack.
So happy so see all the Kansan’s here in the comments!
actually the blacksmith wasn't talking with u in hungarian he was talking in romanian and he was saying something about "valiza la gara"="suitcase to the train station" he probably made something for your suitcase when u go to the train station probably a zipper who knows I couldn't see properly
Why don’t you eat fish anymore?
born and raised in KC. WTF is a mochi donut. Q39 is just microwaved BBQ, don't deserve a mention
Thankewww for the video !
Can't believe you guys fell for it. 😂😂
Where was the location of the restaurant where you had your first meal? Old Bari? A certain Piazza?
You bloggers who only visit Bucharest and Transylvania can't stand you anymore! This does not mean that you have seen the REAL ROMANIA as a country!!! But only one region of the country that only has a different zonal specificity compared to other regions of the country!!!
How much was the ticket? Thanks for the video. This is great and very helpful.
Restaurants are cheating when it comes to papanași. What you get in restaurants is NOT the traditional papanași, it's the fast food version (basically fried doughnuts). Traditional papanași are made from semolina and boiled, not fried. Restaurants prefer the easier version to make, and customers prefer the higher calorie content per Leu. But traditional papanași are much tastier (in a lighter, more subtle manner) and healthier.
Is it safe to eat out generally?
I live in a shared house UK London my best friend is Romanian came back from my first trip to Romania. Three weeks ago. It was amazing stayed just outside of Bucharest . with Marius in my friends families home. Also, he has a empty flat in central Bucharest. The airline fee was, £50 return from Stansted definitely would love to go back again
Asia>europe
You need to go to LC out on 64th street by the Zoo its a bbq place and get bbq baked beans with burnt ends in them. Omg they are the best beans And i lived in kansas city 50+ years But ive never been to 1/2 the places You went to. Oh down by the Old Kansas City star and sprint center EE cholate Its infused with fruit flavors its very good.
When we visited our relatives in Sicily in 2000 we traveled all over but we didn't go to Palermo. When we asked why, they said, Mafia! 😮
This is a great video. You did really well with your midtown recommendations. Except for the cheese slipper and cinnamon roll thing. Whoever gave you those recommendations is just weird. If you return to KC, you’ll have a thousand more barbecue recs to seek out, but the other low-key meal KC is known for for is tacos! We have no fewer than 150 local Mexican restaurants in the metro. Many small, mom-and-pop shops specializing in street tacos and other foods from their hometown. Mostly Jalisco, Michoacan, and chihuahua. Check out the KCK Taco Trail. Visit KCK tourism has a list of over 50 street taco shops on the KS side alone. My faves are Tacos el Tio and GG’s Barbacoa Cafe.

KC born and raised. 25 years on the Kansas side and 20 years on the Missouri side and chili and cinnamon rolls is definitely NOT a thing!! Yes, everyone makes chili. It’s a common midwestern dinner food. We have chili cook off competitions and chili potlucks and chili for football games. The first time I ever heard anything about this weird combination was at my office last year when we had a chili cook off. Someone in the office brought cinnamon rolls because “chili and cinnamon rolls was a Midwest thing.” We were immediately confused by this and took an office poll. Out of 50 people there were only a couple who had said they’d ever heard of it or tried it. Everyone else thought it was weird. I still don’t know if you’re supposed to dip the cinnamon roll in the chili or eat them together or separately? Most of us thought it was pretty gross when our coworker made us try it. From this comment section I’m guessing that some school districts served cinnamon rolls for dessert on the same day they served chili so that’s why they think it’s a thing? I mean, on pizza day they served corn but if I told you everyone in Kansas/missouri/the Midwest eats canned corn with their pizza you’d think that was pretty weird, right? I honestly don’t remember chili day in elementary school, so I don’t remember if my school served cinnamon rolls or not, but it’s just a dessert. If I told you we were served jello on fried chicken day no one would tell you that we’re known for eating chicken and jello here. And chili isn’t really something you go out to eat (yes, I know about Dixon’s in Raytown), it’s something that you cook at home. And everyone makes it a little differently, but it is much more likely to be served with a piece of cornbread on the side.
