Are there bus from Skala?
Hi there, there are buses and taxis available in Skala. Unsure of timings as might have changed since we went but I believe there are bus routes departing from Skála with services that depart five times a day, and operate pretty much day daily.

Hi! I need your reccomend. Is it possible to pay by card or phone on the island, in a cafe or they prefer to pay in cash? Are tips included in the bill? Thanks)
Hi most places nowadays can take payments both cash or card so you should be fine. Tips process differs from each venue but we didn’t have it included so we left tips separately.

Always best to avoid disappointment but if you are lucky or dont mind waiting you should be fine. Mikelatos is the only one we went to where we prebooked as is very popular

Hi there thank you for your wonderful comments and feedback! The quad bikes at the time were aprox 45 euro for the engine size but there are smaller ones! Have fun

I was there in June with my mother, sisters and a friend. I absolutely love it! Obsessed is an understatement. ❤
Brilliant. To anyone visiting skiathos….. if you use this video by way of getting the most your stay in skiathos you will have practically nailed it. This is the best video to try and emulate and of course there are more , many more restaurants and bars to find. The winding town streets are amazing and carry different vibes at different times in the day. We visited skiathos end of sept in 2022 for 10 days (rained 2 days) at bus stop 19 then returned in 2023 beginning September. Bus stop 4. (Rained for 4 days. The floods are well documented and were the worst for over 100 years). The destruction was so sad but everything was 90% back to normal within 2 days. Such an amazing effort by the locals. Check out skiathos 5/9/23 on youtube. Im currently sat on koukounaries beach typing this. By way of helping anyone visiting the island that would rather not hire a car/quad we found that being in or closer to town gave us an easier holiday in the way that after a day at any of the chosen beaches (which this video rightly states are very easy to get to within the first half an hour of your day) a quick beer/wine back in town and a shower and freshen up the town is very hard to exhaust over 14 nights. Fantastic video thankyou sooo much.

I’m sorry but we have been to skala numerous times and none of these Videos state that it’s not safe for children as far as the bathing is concerned it’s very steep when you go into the sea. I think it’s not always about food families want an honest review
Hi Sarah, in Skala area by Milos is not steep according to other guests. Having said that, its different for everyone so please share where you found it easier. I will suggest Katelios as an area that might be more suitable but please take this as a suggestion from us as everyones needs are different. Take care
Just a heads up if you want shallow waters for children,have a look at Katelios , very safe and great tavernas 😎
Sorry to say we did 2 weeks in Skala a few years ago never had one decent meal so disappointed

A local guy told me that the name Skiathos came from Skia and Athos which is a location in north Greece full of monasteries. Skiathos island is the shade of Athos.
Hi there, “Skiathos, meaning rich shade of trees, was named to its unique forests. Skiathos has always been called by the same name since the pre-Hellenic period. It is supposed that this name was given to the island by the Pelasgians, its first inhabitants because they were impressed by the great shadow (''skia'' in Greek) of the many trees covering the island.” These statements were taken from online quotes by the Mayor of Skiathos and Greeka

Is swimming good at skala beach
Hi there, yes its nice it is a long sandy beach, try Milos beach bar, there is a quiet beach there to relax
I found it not so child friendly you couldn’t let a child paddle as it goes very deep quickly but saying that it’s a lovely beach.
Just simply heaven on earth. Ooh baby. Live comes first! Kefa-lo-nia-is heaven on earth!!!

This channel is for me sharing my experiences and where I think are nice based on our journeys so far. As I say there are many beautiful places in Kefalonia and Greece overall but these have made fond memories for us. We enjoyed it and thus thought to share!

Nice.. Are those beach beds part of hotel or extra payment?
@@asianaxeman the hotel has its own loungers by the pool which are free. If you go to the beach these are charged at around 10-20 a pair depending on where you sit. Hope this helps

Hi would you say skala is ok for people in a mobility scooter and walking difficulties please
Hi there are areas where you could use a mobility scooter. Some areas however may be limited into venues as may have stairs. I am no expert but would say there are certainly options if you can get to places by car to start with. Sorry cant be of any further help.
