  Dude, what a great video!!! Man, they were killing it that day, eh? I snagged a big one over near Helen, GA the other day. 3 pounder that was a left over from Opening Day Tournament cause it had a tag on it. I was tempted to filet that dude but I let it go so some kid could catch it. Your vids are always great, Matt. Enjoy the heck out of them.

  Went up there 2 weeks ago and had about 40 all between 12-15 inches and finished the day on my last cast caught a 25 inch rainbow

  How can you tell a trout fish is wild or stocked? Which fins would be altered if stocked?

  Wilds will have all their fins. Sometimes stocked trout will have one or more of their fins clipped, or rubbed off from the hatchery tank. Wild rainbows don’t get that big on the Tellico. Maybe 7-10 inches. So the wilds will usually be smaller. Sometimes it’s just really hard to tell lol

  I’ve asked a few people about it. They said they stock it a few miles down stream and they swim up into the park. But who knows! I’ve only ever fished it a few times.

  @@TheTroutGuy1 Ah that is true. I know they do stock it right outside the park. But judging by the fins, only one of the multiple big ones you caught was a stocker. Nice fish either way.

  How can you tell if they are wild or stocked?

  Wild trout in the smokies are typically smaller fish. Besides a selected amount of streams. They’re also so rare. So when you go out and catch 3-7 bigger fish you can just assume they’re stockers. In this stretch of water, the rainbow trout get around 8-10 inches. Maybe a 12 inches if you’re lucky. The stock trout will not have all their fins. They’ll be rubbed away from the hatchery tank. If a stock trout has lived a few years in the water prior to being stocked, they’re called hold overs. And they will grow their fins back. And look kinda wild.

  Yea, normally a dry dropper. A dry fly that floats and a nymph under that. Or an indicator with two nymphs below it

  Yo dude. I just got back to TN from a vacation in FL where I did a lot of fishing. I've got the bug again and I dug all my tenkara stuff out of my closet and snagged a fishing license.   The weir dam is a great place to fish from shore. It’s about a mile down from Norris dam. Millers island is another great place. It’s on river road. It’s a medium parking lot with a boat ramp.
