Hey guys! I recorded this video a few months ago. I just now got around to editing it. We should be starting back up within the coming weeks! Thanks for being supportive and all that! I tried something new with the music at the beginning, Does it sound ok?
Im so happy I found your feed on uTube . As I’m fairly new to fly fishing . I’m semi retired that I have more time to fish as I’ve been to the Clinch river and the Smokies You made my mind up where I’ll probably do most of my fishing from now on. So I’ll have to do more research on what flys to use though the season. Thanks for posting these videos you’re doing a fantastic job . And I have learned so much from you already I used to yrs ago volunteer for their yearly trash cleanup. The Cherokee national forest has so much to offer.
Who knows Matt could be a wild
Cody is a great guy, and his shop is great. My dad and I always stop in before we fish.

He’s awesome!
Some Beauties caught this outing. Great job. Have you fished the Tellico lately? My Son-in-law and I did well there last Saturday and are going there tomorrow. I finally netted a nice brown on a wooly bugger!

Dude that’s awesome! I actually was up there yesterday doing a guide. It was very tough fishing. It was snowing all day and the water was high and the temp was in the 20s 4 hours we caught 5 fish. But considering they had never held a fly rod. I’ll take it as a W lol They were taking a fire starter ( carrot stick)
Can't wait to fish those Tennessee streams next year!!!

@@TheTroutGuy1 Yes sir, next summer i should be moved in somewhere near the Maryville area. And sure looking forward to getting in the waters...not a lot of good trout streams here in Missouri.

Maryville is the best area. You’re about 2 hours or less away from some really awesome streams.

Nothing wrong with going solo! I live around 2 hours away and go by my self all the time! I feel like it’s more peaceful that way haha
That was a great day! Seemed like it was a action packed from start to finish. Looking forward to seeing more videos hope you had a great Christmas and New Years.

Just came back to finish watching... I definitely think that one was a wild... It was pristine! So sad to see those dead browns, but what a great stretch of water and a great day of fishing! Way to finish strong with that monster... yeah!

Thanks man! Yea that last one was pretty nice. He started to roll and I think my leader got him in the gill. But I followed him for about 5 mins and he seemed to be fine. I’m hoping to get out and get rolling again here soon.
Great Video! I actually fished the river the week before this, I only caught one rainbow but that's how it goes sometimes. I still haven't found the Blue Cabin hole. Gotta keep looking.

Thanks! Yea it’s tough sometimes. I recently went to Gatlinburg and it was slow. So it happens, if you don’t fish the Tellico a lot the blue cabin hole can be tricky to find because it sits off the road a little bit.

@@TheTroutGuy1 Yeah that's the fun part, exploring and finding spots that work and others that don't. Can be frustrating at times but just takes patience. I've only been four times so far so I have much more to learn.
I'm also a user of tapered knotless leaders.

Night and day difference!
Question for you, I’m new to fly fishing, are the egg patterns you are using beaded? Or are you using split shot or just fishing them weightless?
@TheTroutGuy1
Жыл бұрын
Beaded. Gets them down faster in fast current. I only use beadless when I’m fishing really slow water.
When you say you are below or above the hatchery what hatchery is it specifically? Trying to get a better idea where you are fishing
@TheTroutGuy1
Жыл бұрын
It’s the Tellico hatchery. It’s about a mile above green cove store on the left across the river. It’s kinda hard to explain
Planning a trip up there in Mid March. Was wondering what flies I should tie leading to it. Thank you
@TheTroutGuy1

I’d take some dry flies, some adams and Stimulators. Pats rubber legs Black stone flies Wouldn’t hurt to grab some squirmy worms and eggs.

What parts of tellico would you recommend?
@TheTroutGuy1
Жыл бұрын
Definitely my top area is from green cove store to the hatchery!
You are a good fisherman but you need to respect the fish more. As you’ve seen with the dead fish it doesn’t take much to kill these delicate trout. Please release them by gently holding them in the water and letting them revive before releasing…….please, I HATE seeing these beautiful fish treated so roughly.
@TheTroutGuy1
Жыл бұрын
Absolutely Jon. As I do try my best to do so. A lot of times I’ll leave them in the water. (Net) grab my camera. And have them out of the water for 4-5 seconds then release. I will take your advice, and try to do better from here on out. The big trout at the end, unfortunately had wrapped up in my leader causing him to get injured in the gill. If it makes you feel any better. I had followed him down stream and he looked like he was doing fine.

@@TheTroutGuy1 Thank you! You seem like a good guy and like I said a good fisherman. I wish I was half as good as you. Planning on going to the Tellico in a couple of weeks. Your video has me real excited about the prospect of some great fishing.

Thanks man, I appreciate you sharing your problem you have in such a nice way. Some people are very rude and disrespectful. But hey it’s the internet lol. The Tellico should be firing up here soon! I’d love to know how you did. Keep in touch Jon.

@@TheTroutGuy1 Thanks. Can’t wait to fish the Tellico. I’ll let you know how we do.
I enjoyed watching, but I have to say, your release technique is terrible.
@DavidJones-mv5mr

Agree. Get those bigger fish back in the water quicker, and be more careful with all of them - release from the net and less handling.
@TheTroutGuy1
Жыл бұрын
I totally respect your opinion, those two bigger fish were out of the water for a total of 20 seconds. It looks a lot different when you’re viewing through a camera. But I will get them back into the water faster. I appreciate you watching!
