    Awesome video! Im definitely considering buying this camera. But do you actually notice more light/shallower depth of field when using the adapter + full frame lenses that are f1.4-1.2 etc compared to the GF f1.7 lenses? My understanding is the full frame f-stop equivalent of lets say a GF 55mm f1.7 would be crop factor (0.79) x 1.7 which would give you a full frame f-stop equivalent of ~f1.3 (and a focal length of 43mm). When adapting a full frame lens to a MF body like a canon 85mm 1.4, I think we have to divide the f-stop by the crop factor 1.4 / .79 = f-stop of 1.77. I might be wrong but my understanding with converting focal lengths (on APC or MF lenses) to identify their full-frame equivalents, you have to do the same for their respective f-stops, and visa versa.

  • @ThePhotographerGuy
    @ThePhotographerGuy17 күн бұрын

    Short answer. I love the colors, tone, resolution, and over all image quality out of this sensor. AF is better than other models. I haven't tested the newest GFX 100s II. As for depth of field, the Aperture stays the same but the perceived depth of is a bit more amplified. Focal lengths are wider with 35mm lenses. Using EF glass makes this system much more interesting. I stated this youtube channel around testing different EF lenses on the GFX System.

    From my limited experience, Capture One Pro largely levels the playing field when it comes to color science between cameras and eliminates any shortcomings with older Sony cameras. I don't know how the magic behind their "ProStandard" color profiles work, but it's what drew me to Capture One starting out with the Sony A7III. Oddly, my wife uses Lightroom, and I use Capture One on the same MacBooks. I thought the Sony A7III had awful sickly looking colors in SOOC JPEGS or Lightroom but importing the RAWS to Capture One instantly fixed the problem. Endless fiddling with presets and sliders can get you close in Lightroom. With the newer generation like the Sony A7IV, it seems to not matter so much if at all. I think Adobe tries to mimic the different manufacturers' idea of color while Capture One doesn't care and just tries to generate their own "Capture One" color.

    Couple of questions I have, Do you shoot in manual or Av mode 😊. Also, I shoot the R5 and I have my front button set to single point, and my back button to eye focus. What exactly are you doing differently? Also, sometimes I’ll just switch to eye af. And I let it pick up an eye, and move with the joystick to which ever eye I want to be on. When you say it doesn’t track, do you mean you tap or put the square on something and it tracks it wherever you go? And are you saying that the R5 cannot do that? I hope I asked this right. lol

  • @ThePhotographerGuy
    @ThePhotographerGuy20 күн бұрын

    The R5 Tracks but not anywhere as well as the R6 II. I have my buttons set up the same. The R6 II will over track when you have subject detect on. I turn off the Subject Detect on the R6 II so that I have more control over my focus point. for example. If i want to focus on something that is not a face and there is a face in the screen. The camera will chose the face and not my focus point with subject detect on. I'm always using manual.
