This is what it took to make me give a crap about science...............is there anything knives can't do?😊 Have a safe and happy Independence Day.
Thanks for sharing as usual!😺⚔️👍🏻
Hey I’m interested.
@@malcolmholt2010 Courtney said your package arrived today. Think your other went back yesterday, I'll write you down bro. Thanks
Awesome
I've watched a few videos where someone almost makes the whole knife with an angle grinder. Man, they make it look easy. I've never seen the step on the steel as you grind it technique before 🤣. Give it a year or two, and you will be making it look easy, too. Thanks for bringing us along on the journey. It's a blast!
Later we'll toss it off an overpass to make sure it survives the fall and the 70mph hit to the windshield 🤣🤣...we ain't sciencing nothing round here
I've done a few pre-orders. It is hard to wait on those, but it does more or less guarantee getting something that may sell out quickly. I figure I will be able to get ahold of something from you eventually. I just wish you success more than anything.
Were gonna do some stuff eventually 😎
Already excepted for yall 🤘🤘😎
Thanks bro. I'm excited too. Nervous as well but definitely excited.
I'm definitely interested but like Kathleen, probably won't have the funds. Not sure of what range of cost anyway. But you'll do well! 😺⚔️👍🏻
@@BolsteredBlades range of cost is expected to be aroubd 160ish with a kydex sheath and 140ish without.
If you pay for something that's not even made yet with no guarantees on anything especially ETA, YOU ARE A FOOL ‼️ IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG, DON'T BITCH‼️

Can I get a pre order? 😂

@@kathleensmith370 that's ok, I'll let you know regardless. I'll order extras on the next batch so we can give one away on the channel too. 😎
You two have a great day! ✌

good info. u keep losing to the mrs. and ur gonna lose ur man card😀
Already gone bro. She's got my cashews in a jar on her bedside table. Let's me play with em once a year 😅🤣
The update from Larrin Thomas basically follows what Peters Heat Treat has been doing, it seems. That's still nice to hear- and I'd still consider harder better (if you can get a confirmed blade) in a smaller edc. Also I agree- Tactile nailed the hardness for the design.
😎
Wonder if they ran that since it is a fixie? Thx for the video
Most likely! Good point
Cool Brother
😎
Thanks as usual! Congrats on the win finally! 😅😂
Thanks Stacey 💪
😂😂😂
Have you been able to get your hands on a crk by any chance?
I have a s45 inkosi
I appreciate you
We appreciate you too
😂😊 That's the kind of competition I like to see!! Thanks again y'all! 😸⚔️👍🏻
Come get her Stacey lol
Getting smoked son😂
She don't know nothing 🤣🤣😆
I don't know why bestech knives aren't made that well, while other knives oem by bestech made very well with very good hardness on them. I think they don't care about selling their own brand knives?!!!
That's interesting. I don't know much about the brand tbh
I agree, 14C28N is fantastic.
I love it!
I understand that steel has many characteristics: rigidity, stainless steel, etc. But we are talking about steel on a knife, and the main task of a knife is to cut, therefore the duration of edge retention is the main indicator. And if you compare 14c28 with 20cv, then we are talking about a 3-4 times difference in edge retention, all other things being equal. Yes, 14s28 is easy to correct on a ceramic rod or leather with diamond paste, but personally I would prefer premium steel on an EDC knife than carrying the same worksharp tool.
To each their own bro, I have never had a cpm20cv knife that has served me well. However...I've had plenty of M390 that you'll hear no complaint from me about. It's pretty much the same steel right? Edge retention is very important I agree but it's not the most important thing to me. It's cool if we are different. I've had some 14c28n that's out performed some 20cv ....even in edge retention...possibly because one was heat treated correctly and the other wasn't. Honestly though, I'll take high carbon / tool steels all day over any stainless I've experienced to date.
@@apex_alchemy_knives Could you clarify which models of knives with 20cv steel made you decide that 14c28 is better?
@@Warsmith_Honsou of course , I had a foray in 20cv that wouldn't hold an edge to save it's life. I had a cold steel 4max USA with a 56 hrc in 20cv...of course it was way too soft to hold an edge. Are you familiar with American Bladeworks ? Michael Martin is the maker over there. He would heat treat several blades at the same time, all going through the same processes, yet some blades would be 56-57 and some blades from the same batch would end up in the mid 60's. I have a para3 in 20cv that did ok but nothing to make me feel that's a superior steel to anything. I remember when it was the hot ticket s30v upgrade, and Ive bought several knives in it over the years. It's a steel I avoid now, simply because it doesn't seem to be consistent for most any maker. On that note, if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. I'd be willing to try a model that I haven't tried if the price makes sense. What I mean by that...if I can get a maxamet pm2 or a 20cv pm2 for a similar price ...I'll own 5 maxamet pm2's before I buy a 20cv model. Like I said , I'm all ears if you have any good suggestions 😎🤘
@@apex_alchemy_knives Those are some crazy low numbers for a 20cv. There are quite a few knives on the market with 20cv below $200. The same zt 0357, AD20.5 sharkcoub, old models from WE.
Damn! Check out Ironfly Syperfly budget Brand from Kunwu! 14c28n at 60-61 HRC. Greetings as always
😎
Agreed on 14c28n-- it seems to be made for real, practical, use in the real world. Good D2 is good stuff, cheap D2 can be pretty questionable. 14c28n at 57 is too soft for a pocket knife. It's a little softer than ideal on a fixed blade
Right , yeah it's a little on the soft side for sure
I bet Courtney ate 2 bowls of Cheerios this morning ‼️🤣
😆😆
Go Courtney
Booooo
That is an expensive knife for a lightweight but with that said that's the one steel I do badly want and not sure why I don't own it yet lol
Looks like I've acquired the temperance and the police 4. If you still want one in this steal, keep in touch. I may have one up for trade if you like to trade.
14c28n take an amazingly sharp mirror edge my bridgport knifeco 395 is arguably the sharpest I've even gotten an edge out don't hold it like my rex45 15v or maxamet but off the stone it will go to the bone no doubt
😎🤘
Yes it is made by bestech. It is Bestech's budget line
I'll be! Ok great to know. I have a buddies serge pachinco trisect coming up. That thing is made by best tech and it's phenomenal 😎🤘
What does ik24 mean on the blade of my ICON knife? Comments please. Cheers!
I assume Icon Knife 2024...mine says 23. Ik23
@@apex_alchemy_knives thank you. That certainly makes sense. Cheers!
You bet 😎
Dude these are f’in awesome videos brother!!!! Keep it up bro! You have the niche and the honesty to be up front and honest! I love it bro!!!! Remember when you go live , I want to reserve one of your blades brother!!!!!
We gonna try to get em built up
Author's hardening does not always give high hardness numbers. Judging by the result, 64hrc is the best option for cpm 15cv, at least according to the temperer. By the way, I won because I wished for 65hrc. And of course you have no reason not to believe me.😁
Warsmith for the point! We'll jot you down bro
It will be a great knife
Oh yeah
No. It's a combat fighting knife that could do camping if it had to..
😎
Do you have a and saw? That is what I use for basic shaping
I do but it's a porta-band that I still need to get a table for
That most definitely is not the fun part. But once the basic profile is set then it’s satisfying too
I despise angle grinders , there has to be a way to do it better but I can't figure it out. Stuck it in a vice waist high...vertical , horizontal...nahhhh . This tool and I just don't see eye to eye lol
@@apex_alchemy_knives I’m fairly proficient with em and I still don’t enjoy it bro
Enjoyed that my Brother!
Thanks man , nothing too high tech on this channel. 😆
My guess beforehand is 65 on the nose 👃
That's a great guess
@@apex_alchemy_knives Thanks! 70 would be a bit much, 15% Vanadium still does the job perfectly 💪
@@Barney_Greenway absoooooolutely 😎💪
Very cool I'll take 64. I am like you had no idea what to expect. Thanks for all you guys are doing I really appreciate it. I have some more I will send later.
Yeah 64 is not a number I'd snub my nose at. These will be back on there way to you tomorrow. Thank you for the loans bro
she a skinny girl
She is indeed. We bumped her up by 55% and now she's .13" blade stock
Outstanding

Mule yeah 👍🏻
Oh yeah
Very nice! Any new growth of the channel?
It's been a little slower for the last week but probably 10 or so new subs in the last 7 days. The ones who care will find us over time. Thanks for everything you do for us. 😎
Fascinating!! Thanks for sharing! 😺⚔️👍🏻
No problem
Seen other test and Manix and I think Shaman and they were 67+ I believe. I would think on a fixed blade the handle would be a little softer than the actual blade. But who knows.
You may be right, unfortunately it's a full flat grind so we know if we aren't testing a completely flat surface the number varies greatly. I honestly figured it'd be aroubd 70 myself but I'm not mad at 64.5. Especially if that makes it easier to sharpen. 😎
@apex_alchemy_knives 15V with diamonds is a dream to sharpen. Takes a great edge and even performs great down at 15dps. BBB was doing test and laid it back to 13dps and held up great. He was doing testing on his channel before the knives dropped.
@@S4Detroit man that's what I'm talking about. I have a mad respect for Shaun. He's a wealth of great information. 😎🤘
BBB has a video of it testing higher hmmm next up spyderco maxamet 😉
Hey I still have the knife here. Gimme a few minutes. I made sure the machine was calibrated on the adamas video...which this knife was directly after. But allow me to double check to make sure the calibration is still spot on. It's a measuring tool , so you know how it goes. If I get different results on the next go around , I'll post a new video. 😎✌️
I actually just went to his channel and watched his manix test and his manix in 15v was reading 65 on the nose. Not saying he hasn't tested other samples but it was the first video I found when I searched. 😎✌️
@@apex_alchemy_knives that's the one after I said it I went and watched as well I thought it was higher guess not I thought it said 67 been awhile since I seen it but am shocked to see rex45 come in a decent about higher but I have been preaching rex45 since I got it. It's so good
@@bighamz1175 bro those tungsten / cobalt knives are crazy good.
Thanks 👍🏽
You bet 😎🤘
I have the BBB 15v pm2 and I would expect nothing less than 65 to 67
I'm going to have to add something in 15v to our collection. I've never used it at all. I think my expectations were off...but I couldn't find a distributer that had a range listed. I mostly looked at the pm2 variation.
Really wanted the manix 15v but missed out had to buy the pm2 on blade binge well knaf sale at the time which I'm glad I didn't get the manix them i wouldn't have purchased the rex 45 manix so know I have both amazing steels and a maxamet para 3
@@bighamz1175 there you go. Sounds like you're all set up. 😎✌️
