So I see a lot of discourse in this comment section about how Quagmire is very hypocritical and how Joe or Meg would have been better to deliver this rant to Brian, here's my question though: Is Quagmire wrong? A lot of comments imply that because Quagmire is such a shitty person that it somehow detracts from what he is telling Brian, that his points lose relevance based on Quagmire's own actions in contexts that are not this one. So again, is Quagmire wrong about what he said to Brian? Did he at any point in his rant state something that is an outright falsehood? This isn't a "what-about-ism" situation, did Quagmire at any point lie about how Brian is?

Quagmire is a horrible guy but understands his flaws and in some points he understands himself on a deeper level like how his nature is from loneliness and poor treatment from his mother. inversely Brian is just a narcissistic, self-centered and hypocritical and will avoid coming to terms with himself or his flaws and improve because in his eyes it's better to BE better rather than make yourself better.

I have no reason to side with Quagmire even if he was right about every reason he said as to why he hates Brian. He calls Brian out for hitting on his best friend's wife when he clearly does the same thing, and that's just hypocritical of him to say, which he's also a rapist too having devices in his own house to trap women to have sex with him. Brian has done plenty of bad things, but imo Quagmire is much worse than him even if he's not all bad of a character.

Maybe I’m reading too much into this scene but I think that the point here is that Quagmire doesn’t hate anything that Brian does. He hates “Brian.” Brian thinks that he can win Quagmire over by doing some nice things. None of those nice things will change who Brian is which is what Quagmire hates. Quagmire has shown throughout the series what an awful person he is. “I admit it” is not an excuse and it definitely wouldn’t give Quagmire the moral high ground in any real life scenario for what that’s worth. The point is that Brian thinks that he can win over Quagmire and the fact is he can’t. The fact is that any attempt to win over Quagmire will fail because the only thing that Brian can do to win over Quagmire is become a completely different person and even then, it’s not a guarantee.
