    Now I am going to wake up at 3am - to remember one of the chemicals put in city water - to get silver to turn to a chloride [ fogging up ] again if the memory has it correct . Not sure what you started with - but inquarting silver with gold to a ratio of 25% to 75% - gold to silver - then pull out silver with nitric ? Dang , now another channel to checkout ;)

    You’ll want to inquart the gold with silver. Making the gold maybe 8 karat. I’ve not tried it yet though. Good luck and let us know the outcome. Thanks for the view and your comment.

    Absolutely! It’s been a while since I’ve put out a video and I was pushing to get this one out. I’m sure I’ll do another refine video one of these days. In the meantime, I’m working on a PIN Gold recovery video now. The button is very impure but I’m trying to figure out what else is in it so there’s a couple more videos coming before I can put another beautiful bead up on KZread. 😊. Thank you so much for the view and the comment.

    I think the ice needs to be made from distilled water. Tap water will have chlorine in it and other impurities so adding tap water in your aqua regia will add impurities to it and I also think the chlorine reacts with it...ps: i am no expert, I just watch people do this a lot so could well be wrong

    First, thank you for taking the time to review this unit. No disrespect however but this unit is $5000+ USD and for the carton to be greatly damaged in shipping leading to a scratch on the device I would've taken a picture before cutting those straps so Ecoflow can see how it was delivered to to you. They could offer you some money back if you don't want to go through the trouble returning it or swap you out for another one. That's a very expensive device and the only "war wounds" it should receive are from you, not UPS, Fedex, DHL or whomever delivered in that terrible condition.

  • @KKRRenewables
    @KKRRenewables4 күн бұрын

    Yes, I was not happy about it. I’ve placed the unit and it shouldn’t get any more physical war wounds as it’s not near anything moving. I may yet reach out to Costco about the shipping. Thank you so much for the view and comment.

    That’s awesome! How much stuff can you connect to it with 1 battery versus having 4? How long do they last? I’m in the process of selecting a portable battery and I’m between the Ultra and the Delta Pro 3. I’m not sure what to get, all I want is back up for blackouts during Hurricane season . (video is super informational, thank you for posting, make a follow up to see how they are working🎉)

  • @KKRRenewables

    Great and thank you for the view and comment! I can give you advice but it will be biased towards my own way of thinking. The DPU has a larger inverter than the DP3. The DPU capacity is natively more expandable than the DP3. I wanted a home back up system so those two things give me more versatility with the DPU over the DP3. Price is a large consideration, and portability might be a consideration for some, it was not for me. I can force the DPU to be portable but weighing in at close to 190lbs means it’s only portable if I have help and want it to be stationary after I move it :). I can give an update on battery balancing, once the entire system state of charge got to 50% it began balancing the batteries. I did reach out to support in an effort to learn the “rules for balancing” and they basically just told me that once the device is sufficiently charged, it will balance. They tried to be helpful, but I think a language barrier is a problem so while the words were English, I’m not sure the communication was. If that makes sense…. I also have scheduled tasks set up so the DPU charges for 3 hours limited to 600W each night during the cheapest grid charges. The rest of the time it charges from Solar. Once I get to a reasonable state of charge (say 75%), I’ll disable that scheduled task and run only solar and see how that goes. Thanks again Lola, I hope that helps. Ask any questions you’d like. Have a great day.

    Why do you only recover 10% of the value in Printed Circuit Boards? It's so easy to make decent money from PCBs. I never waste time manually removing anything from PCBs, instead I keep them intact. First step is hydrometallurgical removal of all solder for Tin and Lead recovery (Tin is worth five times more than Copper). After this initial process all electronic components simply fall of, thus they can easily be sorted in correct categories for further processing. A lot of these components contain Silver, some contain Gold, and many contain other valuable metals; a few even REEs (Rare Earth Elements). All contain various base metals worth to recover. The components are processed by several different means: Pyrolysis, mechanical separation, hydrometallurgical separation, electrorefining, or electrowinning. Every single component is money! I don't spend any time cutting off electric wires soldered to the boards; the solder removal step takes care of that. All wires, still with plugs/connectors attached are pyrolyzed for complete removal of insulation/plastic parts. Pyrolysis yields not only clean metals but also Raw Pyrolysis Oil, which is later refined into free petrol/gasoline, free diesel, and free fuel oil. The liberated wire strands/connector pins are then melted into a flat anode and electrorefined to 99.9% pure Copper, which achieves the highest sales price. All other metals (including Gold from plated pins) remain in the bottom slime and are of course recovered. Depopulated boards are then processed for recovery of the Gold plating. Even the extremely thin ENIG plating (Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold) is recovered. The bare boards are pyrolyzed for Bromine recovery (the Fire Retardant in the boards) as well as for the yield of Raw Pyrolysis Oil. Finally, the ultra thin Copper layers are separated from the glass fibers. A glass recycler passes by once a month to pick up all glass residue from processed scrap material. When I process PCBs nothing leaves my workshop in any other form than valuable end-products!

    Just finished the last of my chips. I had the same problem. Lots of metal mixed in the dust and the dust itself was impossible to crush. Had to end up running it wet through a blender for a long time. I use a bluebowl myself, and ran the dust over and over, crushing it more than once. I found that as long as copper pins keep showing up there will always be some gold underneath.

    You do realise that AP solution will also dissolve some of your gold ... the longer you leave it, the more it will dissolve ! Pure muriatic acid will not dissolve any gold at all. So, personally, I would NOT add the peroxide. What do you think ? Ah, watching on, I see you performing a stannous chloride test on the AP solution and it's negative ... so that is reassuring !

    What is the typical ROI on these type of eBay purchases? Do you often break even based on what you recover? I have no intention of selling any of the PMs that I have refined but I also don’t want to lose money in the process. I get all of my scrap for free so I have no real concept or baseline of what the ROI is for purchasing it. Really enjoy your videos, keep up the great work!

  • @KKRRenewables
    @KKRRenewables4 ай бұрын

    Appreciate the comment! I tend to either break even or slightly over pay on the cost. I rationalize it to myself in that I don’t have to spend time scrapping to get my feed stock. Nor do I have to store it, transport all the waste metals, etc…. So when I take all that into consideration, I feel like I come out ahead on buying, but you really have to haggle with sellers or you’ll WAAAAY over pay. Most sellers know their good content and don’t ever take into consideration that it’s useless to them as gold because “someone” will buy at the price they want if they just wait. Good luck in the hobby!
