If anyone's here prior to the start of the Euro 24 tournament... here's a question for you. I think, before I start, that Steve Clarke's done a great job of getting to Germany, but... if you could have three Scottish players from this era to add to the modern squad, who would they be?

Back when players could actually leather a football (Graeme Sharp excepted) not like the weak, pass back to the keeper shots you get today. Players can't shoot in the game today.

Out of all the club's up there at the time. Norwich lost out the most from being banned from Europe. Timing was awful. Cheers Maggie! Hope no pool fan's take offence. Just thought I'd mention that. It wasn't Liverpool's fault. By the way. What a goal Gossie! Bless you and takecare

I vividly remember a report on Grandstand at full time, Motson I think, who described the game as a disappointing non event or something like that. One of the great games of that era, Liverpool the well oiled machine and united who were known as a cup team in that period, more than a match for them on the day. What a fantastic atmosphere at Maine Road, in a time when the semis were played at clubs grounds such as goodison, villa, etc. Fantastic events before it was scandalously moved to Wembley to rake in more cash. Silly.

Different times. Today it's impossible for "small" clubs to compete with the super-rich. It was way more interesting back then because now 2-3 clubs win everything, the rest are just in survival mode, and everyone knows it even before the season starts.

Disgrace from Aldridge patting Laws on the head after the goal. Hopefully Laws caught him before the final whistle.

Barnes was not only a top drawer footballer, but a proper winger. He must look at today's inverted wingers and chuckle. Imagine Ian Rush playing today? No chance.

Chris McGrath went to Man Utd when they already had Steve Coppell. Chris was a quality player and a Northern Ireland international. I can't help thinking that he would have shone at the top level had he moved to a different team.

I've got a question for the Arsenal fans. This is only for those of you in your late 50s and over. I want to hear from fans who went the game and were following Arsenal at the time. No wikipedia answers please. What did you think of Nicholas? I see that Woodcock, Mariner and Nicholas played here. What that common? Was Nicholas playing just off the front two? Now, one for the Spurs fans. Again, only for those who went the game in the 1980s. Did you get all the clock end for these games? My team only get a section of it. In some Arsenal-Spurs games it looks like the Clock End is mostly Arsenal, here it looks a bit different. Thanks folks.
