    Good luck with a mechanical fuel tank and a double pump will operate wipers better. I've tried 3 pumps and now there's an electric 6v pump. 6v wasn't too hard to find

    I installed a stationary antenna on the 99 /from a explore without power antenna. Because I can't find a power replacement! Now I need an antenna coupler. Now I've got two male antenna ends. I'll see after I get the coupling if it works. It's been a long while since I took out the power antenna. Seems like it had wires that might have went to the amp.in the rear? Too bad I can't get the power antenna.

    Thank you for this video. My car happened to be. 2002 Corolla and so I found everything exactly where you showed us it was. The electrical connection was stuck and took a while of trying before I could disconnect it. The new sensor was slightly different from the original, but fit perfectly into place. Thanks again. I couldn't have done this without your help. God bless you.😁👍

    Make sure you have the engine just a little warm so the oil will remove more sludge and contaminants.

    My problem while replacing the MAP SENSOR is getting the rubber 'L' to go onto the tube from the throttle body. Three times put the sensor into place, but that rubber piece is being uncooperating. Any good suggestions? Thanks for a reply.

  • @larrysalzman7165
    @larrysalzman71656 ай бұрын

    After four failed trys to get the rubber L onto the throttle plate tube with moving to the side away from the nozzle port.....I rechecked my thinking. I slide the rubber tube onto the nozzle first, keeping it centered. Attach screws loosely and with a small screwdriver and bend the top on rubber L back towards you and put in the two screws of the Map Sensor tight. Once the sensor is in place ,, push UP the rubber tube onto the Map Sensor inlet tube, so now it's in place. Started engine,,,ran smooth. This system worked for me, so if you are having the same problem that I had, this should help you. Good luck.

    Unfortunetly the mechanic has zero experience with engine development, certainly not with testing cold air intakes on a Dynometer. The team I worked with abroad had three, the smallest able to read as low as 1/4 HP. Intake temp does not change much without an intercooler but they reduce or eliminate design restrictions, noise baffles etc. Of dozens most produce 5-10 HP if done correctly; we had over 15 HP+ on some engines that had high-flow exhausts etc with stock air boxes and filters. Many of our mechanics today think they know everything about not just mechanical things without any basis but "seat of pants" research as well as more about Virology, Climatology, or if a mask can stop transfer. Until they need an operation! With smarts dropping from attacks on schools we have to import hundreds of thousands of engineers and scientists each year because some now think any profession like engine development that takes more knowledge than home skoolin' at the kitchen table & maybe a GED or even an actual education is just lies to confuse slower brains! Many things like special plugs etc will not budge a Dyno readout. Exhausts & intakes on newer vehicles are better than an amateur can do but sound or the change in feel can fool you. If the exhaust is too restrictive or the engine intake is tuned for low-end an intake will just change feel at certain RPM. You need a dynometer to know but engines are air pumps so of course flow & volume matter. If all you see is old tools and grungy garages get performance improvement advice from experts with the neccesary learning when trying to improve anything. As for changing a TPS over testing if the original sensor, idle air control or mass air flow sensor are over 15 years or near 100k miles old they are so cheap replace them anyway, they are so cheap online and can really sharpen up what seems to be working fine already.

    You do not loosen the two 14 mm bolts..you loosen the idler pulley bolt which is on a slide. Just like the outer belt it secures the adjuster in place once adjusted.

    I bought a milwaukee 1/2 inch 1400 ft. pound impact because of my first experience doing the crank bolt on this. Some guy on you tube broke six honda crank bolts in a row with the same battery at a junk yard and it just spins it off like it's nothing.

    Seems like the hardest part of the whole thing is getting the lower timing cover back on. I've resorted to pulling three motor mounts and moving the engine over. Also, one of my water pump bolts stripped and the fun of doing a helicoil in there. I did it though right angle adapter with right angle drill with 1 inch 1/4 inch drive stuby bit. The helicoil brand takes a 1/4 inch drill bit which comes in a set of 1/4 inch drive stubby bits from amazon. It was not fun. 6m x 1 bolts like to strip.

    Just pull the 6 50 torx bolts off thr bed and move the box back 3 ft. The whole operation to mo e the box off is about ten minutes and you can do everything from above.

    Slider bolt is 14 mil and not 9/16. 9/16 is slightly bigger and I ended up rounding off the stuck bolt with it. Wasted time and money getting an extractor socket set.
