    Feels more like ANIMATORS had nothing to do with it. And money only made the movie because mr. CEO wants more money and stuff. So he fired a huge lot of 2d animators. And thats a reason it feels really A.I

    As someone who never had nostalgia for the original characters like Willy wonka or cruella, I thought the new movies were good stand alone because I didn’t have any expectations or knowledge on the og characters, so with nothing to compare to, they felt like their own characters that I didn’t need to watch the past movies they were in to understand them.

    I have a theory that all three of Willy Wonka movies are in a reverse timeline, which to me makes sense because this recent one is about his origin story, the 2005 version goes deeper to his family roots, and the 1971 version is his improvement on the factory and actually provoking imagination from the characters and from us viewers. For the record I have seen the 1971 and the 2005 versions, but not the 2023 version because the preview for it seems off-putting to me.

    Rules of Hollywood, you cannot make a movie that criticizes the people funding it too hard: See examples such as "The Lorax". They avoid the class divide and other such things they use as window dressing here because your forbidden of exploring those themes too deep. Gotta keep the message squeaky clean, unoffensive, and within the rules post OWS Hedge Funds want.

    Not to nit pick but i think the old man shaking is not showing nervousness but desperation of the defenders that even this frail old man unable to keep his bow drawn for long is having to defend his family and friends. Some might view it as bravery but in previous scenes we seem them arming young boys in arms and armour far too large from them and his shot sort of punctuates this desperation before the action begins.

    The menu is one of my favorite movies. Im bored of safe and high budget movies, instead I do love indie movies that have an interesting or unique plot. Like I loved ex machina and the orginal saw. Its something that makes it worth the money of buying or renting the movie because your into what could happen instead of something so generic that chat gpt can write a script that almost matches it.

    There is no greater sin then making a lukewarm mediocre film. The audience came to watch to be entertained, and promising a good movie and giving something just boring is defrauding the audience of their time and money. If you make a steaming garbage fire, then at least the audience will feel something, and you may even get to the level of The Room, and earn yourself great fame and a cult following.

    Something that always bugged me about the movies is that there is no innermonaloges, Katniss and Snow are both observations based characters who are always thinking, a lot of the scenes feel off without that context

    I felt really bad for Avantika as karen cause its clear she was doing her ebst to match the Broadway version and even killed sexy karens one solo song. But instead of rewarding her with an actual good story for karen they cut her so much to the point the only thing i remember is her being borderline mentally disabled and having a catchy song. What made the original karen so memorable was not just her dumbness but her sweetness and empathy. she may not have been smart but she showed genuine love for her friends, this was not at all reflected in the 2024 version.

    I agree with almost all of these points and especially the fact that it isn't a good prequel to the original, but this, as a stand alone movie, was one of my favorite movies released in years. It certainly has made my top 3, and maybe even be my favorite movie of all time. Again, I see its flaws, but I still love this movie.

    The makers of the show didn't care, so why should we, the audience, care? Cavill was literally the only reason most people watched the show at all and he left because of differences between him and the showrunners who openly said that they didn't care about or like the source material. Imagine Jackson telling everyone that he absolutely hated The Lord of the Rings and only made the movies because he wanted to grift off a big name. Imagine the effects on crew and cast morale the guy running the show said that. I'd walk right off the project. I either didn't like any of the characters in the show or was just indifferent. Characters which I loved in the books and games.

    I personally think the worst part of including the song Pure Imagination is it invites the audience to compare Chalamet and Wilder's performances. Chalamet was never going to sing it better then Wilder, especially with pitch correction "helping" him out. That is just mean to Chalamet as he MAYBE could had made it work if he did not have to go toe to toe with Wilder.

    Yeah the diversity thing is weird. If you want a black family at the center of the film that's fine. But make her brothers, father, grandfather etc black too. Commit or don't commit. It just feels half-arsed otherwise. And I know mixed-race people exist, but it's been done. My two issues with diversity in film now 1) Race-swapping characters. If a character has been fully formed and people love and know the character for who they are, they should stay that way. They shouldn't change race. Pocahontas shouldn't become white, and Snow White shouldn't become black and Moana shouldn't become Indian. 2) If you want to make NEW films whereby the characters are Black, Asian etc I am all for it. But commit. As he said, don't just make the female characters different races?

    If they really wanted to pander to current teens, then it would have been so so easy to have the narration done via storytime tiktok, rather than that weird mish-mash of instagram video, cinematic camera, and school news narration. Like when I think of some teenager talking about something that happened at school, I definitely think the format would be via a multi-part storytime tiktok. "Get ready with me as I tell you about how the popular girl at school got hit by a bus, part 1." you know?

    It’s kinda sad knowing that if Barry had turned himself in from the start of the show not only people around him would have had some sympathy for him he probably could’ve gotten less prison time because of the fact that he was pretty much manipulated by fuches since a child. But his desperation to keep his life intact (killing Moss and Chris) is what made it imposible

  • @diegovera1353
    @diegovera1353Күн бұрын

    6:30 I think this was badly framed: Barry didn’t kill him cause he was furious when his friend said he’d turn himself to the police, he killed him cause he “””had””” to. He was furious/frustrated that his friend mentioned he had told his wife he was at the gym, effectively making killing Chris the safest course of action, he’s furious at the fact that by doing that Chris dug his own grave, Barry “””has””” to kill him now. Barry wishes Chris would’ve never said that because if his wife knew he was with Barry then Chris would have walked out alive.

    for me, an important factor to consider is that WONKA sets place before the information wars, so he is still yet to gain that cynicism we see in Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, meaning that the traits like whimsy and optimism are greatly magnified while the cunning and such are less developed, so i feel that it's somewhat unfair to compare those two interpretations of the character because of how they're set at different points in wonka's life, and as such are trying to magnify different aspects of the character
