    For the propane gas tank and the extra tire, did you never had any issues with people stealing those? Since they are just attached on the outside of the car?

    I have also taken stuff to cook inside a hotel room, but never thought to actually take the entire kitchen! Genius! I had to go back and forth many times to get spices, oil, and whatnot... your way, is the way!

    It is interesting, comforting and refreshing to see how these fit-outs can be achieved without lining the pockets of the large corporations and Chinese trinket makers. Most people are Zombies who copy and paste what most others do. This idea presented here is almost certainly superior. I mean, when you see that the kitchen can be transported the advantage becomes self evident. I learn the most from, and am inspired by, the cheaper home made innovation fit-outs such as presented here.

    Late to the party! I've been scouring the KZread for ideas on a storage build for my FJ. Every time I settle on a particular concept another one comes up I change my mind. YOURS by far is the bomb! The removable kitchen concept is awesome. Your set up is clean simple and realistic for DIY guy. Thanks for sharing!

    Hey guys. Sounds like a half decent video. But posting anything with max of 240p is just not going to cut it. Everything your showing is blurry due to the quality. Most cell phones get way better quality then this now a days. With better quality you could make some good videos.

    what kind of toilet is that? I've never seen one like that. might actually be better then the thetford cassette toilet.

  • @chrisogden6443
    @chrisogden64434 жыл бұрын

    It appears to be the Wrappon Toilet, which acts like the old "Seal-a-Meal," heat sealing waste in a puncture resistant bag, with a polymer coagulant to neutralize liquids and start decon. The little pouches are then ready to discard in any "normal" trash. Waterless, odorless, and no mess. I believe it weighs ~29lbs.

    This looks more like 3/4" ply on top and box sides w/ drawers being 1/2". I do like your max use of space of using drawers as support rather than framing the box.

  • @LostWorldLuis
    @LostWorldLuis6 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Doug. As far as the plywood goes it is 1/2 inch pre finished birch ply all around (except the quarter panel covers which are 1/4”). The drawers may look skinny cause I did a rabbet joint on the front piece.

    This is super informative! You mentioned you'd been traveling for 7 years -- my wife, daughter and I are planning to take a year (at least) to travel around (at least) North America (either with a Four Wheel Camper or a small Aliner trailer). Any advice you'd give to people just setting off? Stuff you wish you'd known? My wife and I have done a fair bit of human-powered travel -- we've both ridden bicycles across the US, done some long-distance hiking, and off-road multi-month bicycle touring -- but this'll be our first motorized expedition.

    I have a four wheel hawk for about 2 1/2 years now and love it. Just returned from a week camping and leaving in 4 days for another week. Great for boondocking but also will fit in any parking spot so when in a town or city parking is easy. Nice video! Thanks.

    Do you have solar power and if so how many watts? Is it enough to run your computers, phones and appliances?

  • @LostWorldLuis
    @LostWorldLuis7 жыл бұрын

    I believe there are 150watts worth of panels on the roof, maybe 250 (remember this is not my rig). We had more than enough to charge our iPads and iPhones, lights, water pump, furnace fan, etc. as long as the panels are getting a good couple of hours of direct and even some indirect sunlight every day

    It's just been our year on the road in Latin America in a 4x4 truck with rooftop tent and man... I can totally relate with the reasons you stated in the beginning, all of them. Already thinking about a 4x4 sprinter when we get back to europe. Go anywhere style vehicle is nice, but not having to go to sleep later at 6pm when you're on Salar de Uyuni, or cooking inside when it's raining for days, I'd probably trade it for that. And for stealth camping.

    Driving an FJ60? Most definitely a doable trip with a very capable rig as long as the truck is well serviced and maintained. We have friends doing that drive right now in a Nissan Patrol and in a Jeep (kevandemgoglobal and theroadchoseme)
