dreamjewels IOM Sailing and caravans in NZ
I have quite a varied hobby base and rather than have a set of channels place all my videos into one basket.
First off I love travelling in the caravan to nice places and usually it is by the sea somewhere, hence the beachy sort of videos. You will not find drunken screaming OR parties in my videos.
We also live in a beautiful area so why not showcase this in videos.
I enjoy technology and attempt to show some in this format BUT keeping it simple and not much techno speak.
Art is another hobby....... no, not a paint a picture type as I havent got the skill so I use a glue gun and acrylic paints and then try and sell them on our Trade Me Web site

Beautiful caravan. Really new and modern.
Thanks John, it's been a worth while struggle but we got there. Hope all is well
May you have many hours and days enjoying it. We have called the transit, Campy. Lizzie is very creative with her titles. I've fitted 2 deep cycle battery's under one of the beds and an inverter 1500 watts, as well as two wall plugs. We've done one day, nighter and a few afternoons. We are pleased with it and believe it an honest and well looked after vehicle. Happy trail's 😀👍😎🚐🚐
Yes please. Can you put me in contact with him?
Nice work. Not sure that it is totara - old totara usually is a bit redder.
Thanks Colin. I agree but have been told twice it is left me guessing. I certainly dont remember it being that hard when I worked with it in the joiners shop.
Thanks John, your not lacking in talent yourself......keep it up eh, cheers
Lovely to see talent show up on video and I hope the younger generation seeing this appreciate the skills from the older generation.
Hey mate, I am all new to this. What is the bungee cord doing? It looks like it’s going up the mast?!
It runs part way up that line to keep some tension on which can stop the downhaul catching on the cross trees
I had to google some words of this, as it is a second language..so it keeps tension on the line, that is keeping the rear tip of the jib-boom up, so it doesn't get caught in the spreaders?@@dreamjewels
Nice to see my old place where I spent the first 20 years of my life
Part of the "old" New Zealand I feel Thanks for your comment
beautifully constructed
Thanks for your nice comment...will pass it on to builder
💥 Promo sm
A lovely yacht, looks absolutely immaculate.
Certainly is Fay, I never saw it as the pics were presented to me to make a record of the build. Another video is coming on a clinker buid Alan Wolstenholme designed dingy..... as he is selling that as well
What is "lockdown"? Why do you have it in new zealand?
We were all asked to stay home when covid was at its height.....I believe it was the same in many countries 😊
They perform so well with a good constant breeze.
I agree, they seem to glide rather than bob up and down..... Cheers
are all these DF 65 but custom painted hulls and custom bought sails?
Hi to you ,None of the yachts in this video are DF65s they are All International One Meters or I O M Most are hand made and all have standard sized mylar sails. They are as the title tells us 1 meter in length and all have to weigh in excess of 4kg complete and ready to sail. Hope this helps, cheers Peter
No.142 is a fast boat, not that I'm biased 😊
Thanks Fay..... can't imagine how you would be so biased....lol 😆
Beautiful Pond and sailboats thanks for the video.
Thanks indeed, It taken a while to get here but well worth the work the members have put in . Cheers
A venue to be very proud of. A major change from when I was in Nelson several years ago sailing in an orchard. Congratulations to everyone involved.
Thanks a lot for the nice comment. The members have certainly been busy when not sailing.
Looks a great season opening and the grounds and facilities look lovely. Good fleet and they all seem to sail well in the light conditions 🥰
Thanks Fay, Its a relaxing day when the wind is quiet. There is still more to do at the grounds and we are trying to raise money for a ride on mower. Cheers
Looks like a very nice tidy unit.
Thanks, I do enjoy making things work and look good, P
That's one off the most pleasant videos i've watched , that was a great build Peter , i'm you and your wife will have many happy memories in the Elgrand . I hope to get my hands on a Elgrand for the same type off build. Great job Peter.
Thanks for your kind words, We have had some great times out on the roads here. Follow your dreams.....it would be a miserable life if we didnt have them 😀
😅Well done Peter hope you enjoy your new EZI Rider bikes. From your friendly Nelson agent CHRIS HOBBS
Thanks Chris. Have already had a chch chap ask who to contact.....
Hi how do you pump up the tyres?
I would suggest at a bike shop if you don't have a pump. Pumps are available at an additional cost.
Are there any rules? There are lots of infringements Durrington each race
Of course there are rules!!!! As it is an interclub race we have new members racing with the experienced members. As you may realise not all clubs have perfect members who are aware of all the rules.
really appreciate your efforts at putting these together, thanks
David Jensen from USA is designer I believe
Yes, you are correct. Thanks for taking the time
This dude has skills!!! #1 view provider 'promo sm'!!
Thanks for your kind words
Lovely video, but pleeeeeaaaase no music 🙏
Thanks for your comment, I had a look at your videos and noted that the length was in seconds, the noise of the wind and a language I could not understand. I am not saying your are wrong but 15 mins of wind noise or no noise has to be considered. I cant talk for that long and I dont like silence in videos that I watch and in my past 40 +++ videos no person has ever commented re no music, quite the opposite in fact so I believe we shall have to agree to disagree re the rights and wrongs of music. Loved you boom vang by the way Cheers
Great video, very good to watch, nice work.
Thanks, its a great club we have here
Please don't use background music... I couldn't hear what you were saying. Good looking boat though, enjoyed the way you suspended it from the ceiling for painting!
Sorry about that, usually i dont talk on video but will take more care in future
Beautiful boat s ! Well done indeed .
Can anyone recommend a UK to Australia version of this video?
Hi, Im not sure what you mean there. I am in New Zealand and would presume an English caravan exported to your country would be the same as it is when it arrives here Please feel free to ask more questions. Must add that the video was made here in NZ by me ..Cheers, Peter
Great photography,. not keen on music
Nicely done - looks great. Happy sailing .
Thank you kindly! It has won 2 Trophies since this was done.....very pleasing.😀
Wow
Is the cx625 the same a scx675 other than it doesn't have internal memory?
Loved the yellow !
May the gods of wind bless this IOM class event... what a music choice was this, ha! ;) Keep it up guys, enjoy to the fullest!
Thanks for your great comment the music was called Entrance Of Sporting Heroes by Rafael Krux I thought it was rather apt for what we do.
Hi my orange yacht is number 21.
HI John, yes, it was me who took the pictures. Hope you got your battery sorted.
Great video. I can't see the price.
Sorry about that, asking $1990.00 or $1995.00 buy now. Trade Me Listing No 3489928806 Cheers Peter
A real super looking motor home you've got there Peter and I have no doubt that it'll be admired by all and sundry.
Lovely work! :)
Fascinating stuff and must be great stuff
Such a lovely peaceful day on the water, much be lovely being o the houses opposite with such a view. And the music, fits the mood though a touch melancholy.
Great video. Some informative dialogue would have helped me.
I see so many of these IOM hulls on video. But with Covid BS, where can you buy one? All I see are the Dragonforce Flites, which are ok for racing, but I don't race, I want looks and color.
Hi and thanks for the message. It depends where you are for boats for sale. If you were here in new Zealand I could help but contacting your local club may be a start as most clubs have extra boats with the odd ones for sale
Great video.Peter
Looks a lovely peaceful scene. What's Linleys boats number, btw.
Thanks for the comment and it is a peaceful spot, the boat number is 42
Looks great Peter, love the layout.
Glad you like it!, we needed more room to relax and this gives it to us. Its all white Oak inside, just been sanding the table edges and smells great.lol
Looks fantastic Peter 😃
Thanks 👍, looking forwards to going away for the first time
Great video
Thanks Gary, it sure was a fun day
Hola, muy buen vídeo , fascinante…
Thanks very much Its a great club to sail with
Some serious contact going on with the IOM’S.
Quite hard to stay within the rules in strong winds but penalties are taken.....
