BTW< I am guessing they inform you of this if you have purchased a ticket, but they are now offering a limited number of VIP upgrades on the European leg of Avi's tour (except in Prague for security reasons). Just thought I would let you know just in case
I was just going to say the same thing!! VIP is definitely the way to go, extra time with Avi is worth it!!
I heard it from you and some others before the info reached me, and I have in fact bought the VIP upgrade as well. So that is going to be amazing <3
Love this song and its beautiful lyrics. To me, it’s about remembering to be thankful for every day, that every day is a gift no matter how life treats us. It’s my antidote to “Chains”. If you find the time, I’d recommend that you watch the third version with a stunning animated video by Turkish artist Mertcan Mertbilek who also created the video for “It knows me”. (The only difference is the video itself.) You say that if played in the background, the song will live on its own and be nice to have there. Another reactor said that Avi’s music lives within us. I agree with both.
I'll absolutely check out that version as well for the video. maybe not as a reaction but will definitely do it. and also, VIP <3 Thanks <3
💕💕💕
At Avi's concerts everyone was humming along, I loved it. There is a video with an animation, really well done, through all the seasons. I am also grateful for Avi's music and that you react to all the songs.❣❣
This song is simply to be thankful for life and the small miracles of daily life.❤ Something we all need to rediscover in our lives.
I've Ikied 😉 ❤️❤️❤️
wooo <3 ;)
Avi always has trouble with glitches. I love his humming in the song.
In regard to the little glitches in the livestream version, Avi's often had internet issues when doing livestreams from his cabin, due to sketchy signals out on his remote 1,000 acres of woods, and I suspect that was the case here.
Avi = Good :-) Both are good listening for programing and writing - for me at least. I like the two-er reactions. 👍👍♥♥🎶🎶♥♥👍👍
I know a few versions of this song, but The Bass Gang's for me is the best. Love it 💖💖💖
Love this version of a much loved classic 😍💖💕 Btw McLean is pronounced like McLane 😉
I think this is one of his best arrangements.
🤠🔥 - the timbre of his voice is just so amazing! My favourite from Geoff is "High and Dry". Take care! 🌹🕊
Geoff's genius for bridge building shines in this. He added a chorus and a bridge section to make the song less repetitive thatn the original by Marty Robbins, And it's seamless. Check out the video that Huldra Draco has made comparing the two versions. I love everything by Geoff but in this genre I was very impressed with his Unshaken. And Ghost Riders. But one of my favourites is Shenandoah.
Completely agree, while I absolutely love his lower registry, there is something about high higher registry that is equally as impressive. 🥰 Thanks for your reaction 😊 Looks like PattyCake Productions is releasing a new song/video tomorrow/later today depending on where you are; if you're interested
i wish he did this cover before fallout new vegas came around. i would love to listen to that while playing....lol
That would have been awesome. On PC we can add music, but that means losing the radio...
I remember this one from when I was 11 in 1962. Marty Robbins wrote and sang this in 1959.
More Geoff's is always good, really hoping for a video with six of him soon 😁 💖💖💖
Oh that would be amazing indeed. Not sure I could take it though. haha
❤️💕💖
❤️❤️❤️
I'm already subscraped in more palces than I care to think about. 😁😁 Really enjoy this version. Geoff add a lot of 'bridge' pieces in this. Made a much more story like song. And the Goosebumps are back. Loved the beginning.🤠🤠🤠🎶🎶♥♥♥🤠🤠🤠
there is something really similar with poets and aha, they both have amazing voice singers and songs are such a blast and also something else similar too. norway rocks :) thanx to great reaction and have wonderful day. poets new album is bulls eye.
Requiem is one of my favorite's of theirs (but then again I say that about a couple dozen of their songs). The harlequin frantically trying to put the makeup back on inside the mirror, and then crying when he can't stop his real self from unmasking is just lovely unstated storytelling. Have you got Choice Millionaire on the list to listen to? I'm really looking forward to your reaction to that one along with Sweet Escape.
love him!!!! He will bring a smile to your face!!!!
😍💖💕
This song was awesome to witness live last year. During their 20th Anniversary tour.
Even though I've watched their video countless times, it still makes me laugh 😂 Plus it's an amazing cover, Cesar's high whistle notes give me goosebumps everytime 😍💖💖

To see an older piece with Rachel Potter that highlights her amazing voice, try Voice Play's PHANTOM of the Opera. It is mind blowing.
There's a guy who does videos of a song in 10 or 20 or 30 different styles. His name is Anthony Vincent and I recommend checking out his youtube page called Ten Second Songs. He was the inspiration for Marwan Ayman of the Bass Gang to do a video for "This is Halloween in 30 STYLES." Those styles can be rock, pop, Michael Jackson, jazz, country, Indian, and anything in between.
This song brought some popularity and fame to The Shriners. I first heard this song as a boy in the 1980's and ever since whenever I see the Shriners asking for donations I give. They do such good work.

My ex-wife is deaf, and her particular type of deafness means she can hear lower tones better than higher ones. I’ve shared a number of videos (Home Free, Tim, VoicePlay, and Geoff) with her and our sons. She’s been a huge John Denver fan her whole life, and I think this song was the only one she commented on. She said, “Where’s all that bass coming from in that skinny dude?!”
It’s hard to decide which version I prefer. I like how the melody is moving forward in the original version but Avi’s voice in the alt. version speaks to my soul and makes me appreciate the lyrics even more. For two very different recordings of yet another wonderful song, I suggest “Full moon”, Avi says it’s his ode to the moon. And what an ode! The original is from his EP “I’ll get by”, and this is the alternative version: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yn2DutGvc6uflag.htmlsi=L__ypo4OC2VQv34d
The whistling in this song always gets me; it reminds me of a cross-country trip I took by train years ago. And when he finds the horse in the video made me laugh the first time I saw it! :D Avi's "remixes" of his own music are so cool. The same song done many different ways makes his catalog feel even bigger than it is, because each version is like a whole new piece. Thanks for another great reaction!
The version I prefer depends on my mood! The original is wistful but hopeful to me because of the swelling and expansion of music plus the whistling. The alternative version is somber and darker with low humming harmonies. While the overall message is the same, the delivery of the message evokes different emotions in me. Cheers!

My first impression of this song was that I wanted to hold Avi in my arms, to protect him even after the fact, with all the longing that was inside him. A tiredness and a longing to come home. How he rides through the desert like a lone wolf, tired, drained, but also full of anticipation. I don't know where this feeling came from, but I had it every time. This song always moved me to tears, as did the song "Full Moon", like a lone wolf howling at the moon. All the songs transport so many emotions, indescribable and beautiful. It always awakens maternal feelings in me.
A few things. I tend to prefer the vocal harmonies at the end of the ALT version to the whistling in the original, but both versions are indeed great. The ALT version is from an EP Avi did during the Covid lockdown, recording it very basically in the nearby home studio of Reid Leslie, his longtime tour sound/tour manager. His awesome cover of Bill Withers' "Lean On Me" is on that EP. Also, the video was shot, mostly by drone, by Jimmy Bates, who as head of FifGen Films has done a lot of PTX videos (including "Daft Punk"). The scenery you see in the video is actually of the Aberdeen, California area, near where Avi's mother grew up. In this live video I took at his August 24, 2019 concert in Dallas, Texas, Avi gives a little fun backstory of the song. (And the man on the keyboards is Daniel Ellsworth, who subsequently played piano on all 4 of the Sunset Sound songs, on "Healing", and organ on a couple of the new songs, too) kzread.info/dash/bejne/jHWTpMiJdqu0l7Q.html
