I bought a cherry tree at farmers market--no name on the pot but the seller said it is a Brazilian cherry tree. I google it and most cherry tree has its own white flowers but this one I bought has its own pink flowers. Do you think this is a a Brazilian tree as the seller says it is? Don't know nothing about cherry tree and this is my first time planting it...Thanks

We have them all over our backyard and we thought it was just another tree till one of my Tongan aunty came and started cracking them open and chewing them to lather it all over her body. She called it Tuitui. She just chewed them just to spit them out to lather on her body but is it eatable?

Yes its edible, you can only a eat a couple raw but you can eat more if you roast them and then combine them with salt. The Hawaian's call this Inamona which is ground candlenut (kukui nut) and salt. They then mix it with chili and other spices to have with their fresh Tuna.(Ahi) Search on youtube many other videos about how to prepare Kukui Nuts. Very special and very very useful tree. Deep history for many Polynesian asian and hawain cultures.
