Excellent review in spite of what others are saying. I think I’m going to have to buy a speed booster for my Nikon Zfc now😂. Thanks a lot…….more gear.😎Regards Gerry

They are not sharp because they were never designed to be sharp in the first place. You end up shooting at F2 anyway, so you are wasting your money. At f2-2.8, the 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 are as sharp as each other. It's how they render colours and contrast that matters, and of the three, the 1.8 wins hands down and it's no contest at f5.6. Save your money.

Fuxk dude. 🎉 As a rapper, I'm not usually speechless. As a photographer, I'm not easily impressed. As an Alfista, I love that 4C. Truly epic video. The reflection in the glass shots, the gun blast at the end, but the shell/casing hitting the ground after the video goes out... Man. ❤

how about wide angle converter infront of the lens, typically x0.79. Am I correct to assumed my F stop would be reduced by 0.79x. Given that the F stop = focal length / diameter. ; now diameter remain the same but focal length reduced by 0.79x, so F stop would be 0.79x equivalent?

What I question is the relationship between full frame and aps-c and bokeh. It makes sense of the crop and the f stop change, but why would the amount or size of bokeh balls change when using the same lens and the same settings relative to sensor size. I haven't tested it but a f1.2 on a full frame should have the same size bokeh whether is cropped or not.

I've literally used the 7artisans 7,5mm Fisheye with distortion correction for shooting real estate content for over two years now. Shot like 50-80 properties with it and the client is always happy :)

yeah we get it, this system is actually so fricking arcaic the lenses should be called by their FOV not the focal lenght milimeters. and "F" number is also a fraction, by replacing it with an actual number that we get from the fraction would be much more consistent in describing how much blur the lens is able to get.. Because for example 50 f1.8 would get less blur than 85mm f1.8 even though at face value the f numbers are same... if you catch what I'm trying to say I'm just dissatisfied with the unchanging status quo from the early days which doesn't make much sense or could be better today.

hay dude, How about the shorter flange distance of the MFT cameras, doesn't it compensate the focal length issue? Say your 50 mm for example, it has a different FL on a MFT camera to be fractured in than an original full frame camera.

Hi Jimmi, I just watched this video and it was very helpful. I bought the Samyang and expect it tomorrow. Specifically using it for video calls to capture the whole room. You mentioned in the video that it's possible to correct the fisheye distortion. Is it possible to do that with live video?

I'm not familar with the live video workflow... there might be a software that lets you do that, but I haven't seen one yet.

I use my old FD 50mm f/1.4 with the same speed booster on a Pocket Cinema 4k and the results are as solid as we see here. My favorite application -- shooting under a full moon with no other light source. The speed booster offers a flat depth of field, though it adds a bit of coma. But as long as you aren't using this for astrophotos (and looking for pin-point stars), the slightly lower contrast sharpens up nicely in post.
