Trial Mountain and Grand Valley are two of my favourite circuits. That says a lot for the fictious tracks in Gran Turismo. For RL tracks, nothing beats The Nordschleife.

I think VGT works best either as something like the Tomahawk and these insane “what if” type cars or very serious attempts at essentially making a normal concept car like the Honda sports VGT. So many of them are these bulky pancakes (long, wide, and flat) styled into oblivion that are too implausible to be a road car but still make a halfhearted attempt to be kinda realistic in a way that ruins a lot of the fun of them, at least to me.

When I played Forza Horizon 4 (first of all Forza franchise) I thought - what the hell the Forza Edition is - it's the same car! Or Preorder Car - it's also the same car! Only their specs vary a bit. Now, that I've discovered marvellous GT universe with GT3, GT4 (love it) & GT5, I finally understood that Forza went very, very easy on the aspect of duplicate cars)

This is the first video of yours I’ve ever seen, loved the detail and, as an ardent pedant, loved the lack of any historical inaccuracies - which would be so easy to do in a video of this scope! My adolescent years were spent playing Toca Race Driver 1 - 3 and there were a few obscure circuits in there like the Vancouver Street Circuit, Mantorp Park and the pre-F1 layout of Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City - it was even the pre-CART/Champ Car layout without the first baseball-stadium bypass of the full Peraltada final turn. TI Circuit AIDA, Oran Park (before it was demolished ☹️) and the Canberra Street Circuit were also crammed in there. I also played Race Pro years later which had a very similar feel to it to me. That game had oddities like Curitiba, Pau and Boavista. I miss the days of these obscure circuits and beautifully balanced cars to hoon around in them!

I haven't finished the video yet, but i bet the Toyota LMP car you get for winning the 24 hrs of Le Mans in GT5 is on here. The entire 24 hours race and all you get is an LMP car that's probably worse than the one you just used.

OK, let's be real here. It is absolutely ridiculous to try to convince me that adding a fetch quest and make no mistake. That's all these are her fetch quests. I could come up with 500 of them in an hour by simply saying race this car on this track against these cars that's not a game and it's not an update and Sony screwed consumers over so badly that they think that this is going to help as they continue to degrade the economy in the game I have to admit you had the only video saying anything negative out of the 100 videos that I looked at after typing in GT seven that was it just GT seven no negative reviews. No smack talk about the economy, just influencers talking about watch me do this I'm so dam good at sim racing when 98% of these people have never even sat in a race car Gran seven that I paid for was not the game that I got. I paid for an exclusive PlayStation five game not a PlayStation 4 compatible piece of crap it was broken from the very beginning, and Sony did nothing but lie through their teeth, I did a video with 27 absolute points about what was missing or wrong with Gran Turismo seven to prove that the real Gran Turismo seven we were supposed to get for the PlayStation five is sitting on a shelf somewhere at Polyphony and it will be called Gran Turismo eight. Did you notice every car at the 2023 pikes Peak race had Gran Turismo splattered all over their windshield yet we did not get pikes Peak in Gran Turismo seven even though the escudo was included. and there are many more points like that to prove that this was a quickly thrown together game when the pandemic hit because they knew they couldn't sell enough copies because they couldn't make enough PlayStation fives this was a fraudulent sale and screwed over every single consumer that bought copy, fortunately for them in the EULA it says you can't sue us because we're going to rob and steal from you at every opportunity and if we tried to do that without mandatory you can't sue us clause we'd be out of business very soon. You have to go through arbitration no other business on this planet operates like the gaming industry, there's no tennis company or golf company or bowling or boating or water skiing or snow skiing or tennis or baseball or football manufacturing company that tells you what you can and cannot do and then nickel and dimes you to death after you purchase their product and you bought something once you got home you realized wasn't what you paid for you would take the product back and say give me back my money every person who bought copy of should take it back to the store and say give me back my money. This isn't what I paid for gamers to be taken advantage of by doing nothing over the last 15 years to stop this behavior except for when the Xbox one came out, sorry is bothering me. I'm using speech to text. You may have to do some interpreting.

This is a fascinating and very well considered/executed critique of GT7 by a fellow Brit. It's a game I bounced off because the career mode café talking heads part you get dropped into is so baffling and to be honest, kinda boring. Bad game design and it pulls down the amazing visuals, sound design and gameplay. If I like a car and want to read up on it, I can do that when I'm not gaming. Having to click through lots of Wikipedia summation waffle rather than drive the thing, that happens far too often. It's a video game, not an automotive history documentary. GT6 is still my favourite, honorable mention for GT4 as well obviously. GT Sport I hated a few years after release, but now at end of life where all the single player stuff finally works offline like it should have from day one, it's actually pretty decent and almost up there with GT6. That's one of the problems though isn't it - it takes years of patching to get the last GT games anywhere near the old ones which were already well sussed career wise, off of the disc. It's part of the rot of always on Internet based modern game design thinking - release an unfinished product and patch it later. That being the case I'd rather wait until it's finished i.e. no more patches, even if it takes years.

winning fast cars is fun but i really feel lile gt4 made it too easy. edit: to elaborate, you cant even call these "Progession skips", when like every 3rd event outside the "standard" leagues (beginner, professional) just give you cars that are way too fast for the kind of event. like its almost impossible not to do a "progression skip" in a normal run.

Regarding part 1: With my first Gran Turismo game, GT5, I don’t really remember the starting car experience, for some reason an R32 comes to mind, but anyways… what really stuck was this Ferrari Enzo in Rubino Micalizzato with all of the ugly carbon goodies I added to it. I saved up SOOOOO much for, and as little me, I didn’t understand all of the grinding stuff so I worked up that money from playing the game, that around a million dollars spent was a ton for me and I vividly remember driving that car ingame with so much fun. With GT7, I had that part 1 type experience with the Polo GTI. I love that little car, I had so much fun doing the fake Ascari track with the uphill type corkscrew turn. I drove that for hours, then I modified it and messed with suspension, etc…. Had tons of fun. That’s the car.

One area that nobody talks about in GT7 which needs more attention is how bad these cars sound, better than previous GT's but honestly it's the biggest disconnect for me Driveclub, PC, AC all sound organic and raw and get the blood pumping GT sounds manufactured and muted some cars sound decent but redline, burbles, backfires sound horrible

Who cares? I think most racing fans cares about the real world circuit races, not these generic circuits, which were fine in PS1, but pointless in this day in age when they can get the licenses of other circuits such as Spa and Suzuka. The only real blunder is the complete lack of street tracks, those added a much needed variety in the game. As far as the other tracks (Apricot Hill, Midfield, etc.) goes, i couldn't be less interested in seeing them again. I agree that they shouldn't even bother bringing these tracks back at all in future updates.
