I don't have an Apple laptop but I've noticed if I leave my laptop on it will go to sleep and will not easily wake up. The power button is lit but I have to keep pushing it until it goes out and then press it to start again. Sometimes it takes quite awhile for it to work. If I shut the laptop off then I have no problem getting it to start. So now I make sure to shut it down even when charging.

I'm in the same boat! Partying a lot in my 20's, avoiding any form of responsibility - after 3 years of trauma therapy I finally started sitting in the driversseat of my life! Yes when you are in your 20s you can make more mistakes and experiment but I have found that all the things that i put away I now can tap from. No matter how or what - the years we spent 'hiding' are still years of experience. For example you now creating a video that inspires young people to make the most out of their 20s and connecting with other 30+ people to show that the moment is now ;) All the best and thanks for the vid!

Thank you for this comment! I feel understood. I hid myself in pursuing a career and being a perfectionist, people pleaser. you can run and hid but the trauma is still there waiting for you. Even the act of hiding and running is a trauma response. Phew, it's a mad one. I think i need to start trauma therapy seriously. I'm so so glad, you're in a great place now. Thank you for the encouragement. I know it will all work out how it's supposed to. xoxo

I loved watching this thank you for sharing. Also maybe try to explore and dismantle your beliefs on adult friendships! I find that the more I used to think like that, the more I would attract people that were closed off like that. But honestly I’ve made so much close amazing friendships in my adult life, I think you just have to find those people who feel confused like you. We all are. Just food for thought! You’re doing great :)

Your message speaks to me. I had just turned 31 this year. Last year, I had lost my job and remained unemployed for 8 months, despite actively searching. What little I had left was nearly gone, and I accumulated so much debt that I never thought I would have in my lifetime. I was finally hired just two months ago, and slowly have been working my way out of debt and desperately putting whatever I have left towards saving for a future, but it feels like an impossible task, especially while seeing so many people my age (and younger) starting families, traveling, and seemingly feeling so sure about their lives. What kept me going was this piece of advice: "don't aim for perfect, aim for progress."

It's so hard not to compare yourself to others. We all do it. I'm sorry you are struggling to conceive. You have a lot going on: this channel, school, making your health a priority, wife, trying to make new friends. Would it help if you got a part time job? Not for financial purposes rather just a chance to get out & meet new people & have it be something fun, not something for your career or for financial reasons. Just a chance for you to get out of your head put yourself out there. There has to be so many unique jobs in the city. As for the friends not calling you back or inviting you to other events forget about them, they weren't your friends to begin with. Keep your tribe small. I'd rather have 2 or 3 really good friends than 100 so-so friends. I know it sounds silly but I think it would feel good to volunteer, or work in a florist shop & create flower arrangements, or work at Sephora & give ppl suggestions on products. Would it help pay for all living expenses probably not, but it would give you a chance to put yourself out there, meet new ppl & maybe do something u enjoy at the same time 😉 without feeling like another day has went by & you don't feel like you got anything accomplished. I think us women pit enormous pressure on ourselves to cross everything off the checklist every day & if not we feel like a failure-BS. Right now I should be exercising before work & instead I'm being lazy on my phone 😂

I can totally relate to you. I would say write a list and prioritize those things. Pick one or two things off that list and start there. Trying to do it all will continue having you filling stuck. Income seems to be the most important so I would say start there and work on a second thing that would require you to get out of the house such as going to the gym and then that could lead into you meeting other people. So I would say to start there. Take it one day at a time and enjoy the process or journey. You will get there in your own timing. No more comparing your life to social media ok! People of all age groups have this problem. I just moved to a different city about 3 years ago and I felt that way. It takes some time but it slowly starts to come together. Letting go and enjoying the process and enjoying the journey will make the destination that much more enjoyable.

All solid advise, thank you for taking time to write this. I think when we are in the thick of it, we can't think straight and just clutch at straws. I'm realising structure is so damn important. Phew comparison being the thief of all joy. I'm getting off socials for a while so focus tbh, only staying on youtube to post and connect but i'm off insta. It's hilarious that despite being in the psychology field, I still fall into the social media comparison trap. Anyway, I'm letting go so I can breathe and rest. Will see what happens. :)🥰🥰

I paused after 1:23, I have been exactly where you are, actually just shortly over a year ago. When the circumstances are changing and you still feel a heaviness second to second, that is your spirit crying out for attention. We have an ego and a spirit. Our ego is moved by all things that we can perceive with our five senses. Our spirit, when recognized, only perceives love in all things, people, and places. It may be time to go within and start the journey toward wholeness. Because no matter how far you climb, unless you have an awareness of the higher powers at work, and wellness practices based on what you need, there will be this continuous longing feeling on the inside. Getting in-tune with source, your true self, will solve all of that instantaneously! Allow me to be a testimony, as I have been transformed by the renewing of my mind! ❤️🤞🏾🪷😇

I can't say that I'm a late bloomer except from the perspective of a recently retired woman who now has time for meaningful friendships and haven't been able to find that tribe you speak of. I have one close friend from high school but she lives 2 hours away and is still working. We get together when we can but I miss a more spontaneous connection with others. I've had some lunches and dinners with women I would like to connect with but so far am not feeling the kind of close friendships that I had hoped for. I'm a bit of an introvert and a homebody. I have 2 adult daughters and a 6 month old grandson I get to take care of 2 days a week so I have those connections but it's not the same as having a close girlfriend that you see frequently. My spouse of 40 years passed away shortly after I retired so being alone is much more pronounced than it would have been if he were still here. Making friends as an adult is difficult for many age groups so if it helps you are not alone.

Hey Patricia, I'm truly sorry for the loss of your spouse, and thank you for sharing your story. I can't begin to imagine. I'm so glad you have your children, that's so beautiful and I love how you phrased this "I get to take care of 2 days a week". It's a privilege rather than a burden. I love that. I guess life happens are friendships drift apart with distance and as people build their own family units. Are there any local groups / hobbies you can join to meet more people? honestly, it's comforting to know I'm not alone in this but also hope things change for both of us. xxx

I love having my grandson nearby and want to be a constant on his life. I think it has also brought my daughter and I even closer which is a bonus. I hope you find people too. My one advantage is that I've lived where I do for almost 40 years so I do know a lot of people and just need to work a little harder to stay in touch.

Hi Hauthor, remember that everyone’s blessings come at different times. Just because you see others with things you desire doesn’t mean that they aren’t facing their own challenges. I understand how difficult it can be to make friends as an adult; I also moved from London to the US, and it hasn’t been easy. I’ve kept myself busy by exploring different hobbies and focusing on my professional development, much like you. Being a late bloomer can be frustrating,as it often feels like you’re behind. But I believe this is part of Gods plan for you. You might be surprised at how many people would love to be in your position. Though you may have doubts about your faith, remember that the almighty God (Jesus) never fails when you trust him. Everything will turn out beautifully for you. Don’t worry.

  • @justhau

Heey Faith. thanks for the encouraging words. Where in the US are you? You're definitely right re: blessing, it can just be so hard when your blessing doesn't seem to be turning up. I've started exploring different hobbies / activities too now hopefully will meet like-minded people. It's funny, but keeping busy with work means less time for socialising. also I work from home which can be isolating but I am so grateful I don't have to do office / commute every day. On the whole, I'm happy that I am at this phase where I am self-aware and brave enough to do something about my life. Anyway, how are you finding the states? 🙂🙂

I've been to NYC 2x, once when I was 15, & once at 19. Never long enough. I've always wanted to go back & stay longer & see & do more. I love learning about other cultures, cuisines & trying new things & NYC is great for all of those things. I also have a degree in Fashion, however; what those jobs pay I would barely survive on in NYC. At 36 I don't want roommates. I'm from Iowa it's in the Midwest. I used my degree for 7 years in Iowa as a designer (sewing & designing samples for customers & getting them ready for Production)& currently I'm learning a new trade as a Pharmacy tech. I was beating myself up for the longest time for not using my degree anymore, but now that I'm not in a creative job, I have more time to work on my own creative projects. We are all capable of being multi faceted. Why stick to the same profession for 40 years?

I was getting a rash on my stomach every day after work on the days I would work. I worked in a hot factory 80 degrees daily inside & the last 2 years have been nothing but stress trying to figure out what is causing my severe dry eyes=$$$$, went through most of my savings (& moved) had 2 procedures that weren't covered by insurance & they cost almost $1600 & they didnt help my problem =super frustrating. I recently switched jobs less physically demanding & now I no longer get a rash on my stomach. My Mom was right, Moms are always right, so glad I didn't waste $$ going to a dermatologist. If u have allergies & you have to take medicine daily I highly recommend doing allergy shots, been doing them for 5 years now & I'm off my 2 daily nasal inhalers & allergy pill. They are an investment & time commitment, I get them weekly. I have 1 year of shots left, they have changed my life, I'm no longer miserable daily because of my allergies 🎉

I don't get hay fever but my Dad does. Never move to the Midwest. With the changing of the 4 seasons & being heavy in agriculture the dust & dirt makes everyone's allergies go crazy when the seasons change. Right now the pollen is so bad it looks like pieces of cotton floating in the air. Since you try not to take medicine I recommend this for your allergies (it's an old wives tale that ppl swear by in the Midwest), buy local honey (not processed from the grocery store) from the local Farmer's Market. Consume 1 Tablespoon of the local honey daily to help with allergy symptoms. Put in hot tea, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. If you Google it you will find lots of contradictory information on its effectiveness, but its still cheaper than allergy shots (the only thing that has worked for me), taking medicine daily, or going to the Dr every 6 months.

Im so happy for you! Usually after it storms there is a 🌈. When you were talking were you saying PTSD or PCOS? I assume the 2nd one since it's geared more towards women. You will be so much more relatable going forward in your life journey helping other women because you yourself have experienced it ❤ helping others is such a wonderful feeling. My friend I was telling u about prior her mother in law is from Africa & whenever she was in pain from female problems her mother in law told her to drink Raspberry leaf 🍃 tea. Something in the Raspberry leaves helps with female menstrual & pregnancy issues. Africans usually take the more natural route, & as $$$ as some medications are & they have all these nasty side effects, natural is more safe. So recently I've been to several specialists for dry eye disease, my eyes are getting worse, my vision is near perfect. I have to have eye drops made from my own blood at a lab, I'm on these super $$ Xiidra ($500 eyedrops for 3 month supply, no generic on the market, hence the crazy price), I use eyedrops from a Drugstore $18 a box, wear a sleep mask at night & put in special eye drops before bedtime. Do a heated eye mask in the AM & PM.The Dr thinks it might be my birth control I'm on.🤯 I'm currently on YAZ & I haven't had a period in 5-6 years. I struggled with PMDD (Premenstrual Dishorphic Disorder). I would get really depressed 2 weeks prior to my period starting, couldn't sleep for 2 weeks prior, irritable. Once I started started YAZ taking my period out of the equation stopped all my symptoms immediately. Now the Dry Eye Specialist thinks I have a hormonal imbalance because my eyes aren't producing oil on their own. When I don't take fish oil everyday I get bad headaches. She wants to put plugs in my tearducts so then my eyes will produce oil more naturally. She discussed the importance of eating healthy. Whenever I eat fish I swear it helps with my depression & my dry eyes from the Omega 3's. I can't wait to put this chapter in my life behind me. The stress of all of these medications & things I have to do everyday is a lot of work. I can't help but wonder if it really is the birth control or antidepressants I'm on that are causing me all of these issues. Or is there a hereditary component as well? Both Grandma & Great Grandma on one side of family have maculuar degeneration. Usually dry eye disease occurs in women in menopause, I'm only 36. The Dr said we will have to try one thing at a time to help us pinpoint what the issue is. The Dr does research & I told her I would gladly be her guinea pig if that meant getting discounts on checkups or procedures. Thank you for shining light on women's health issues, they are far more complicated than anyone realizes! ❤

I don't like being first but I guess I am. I must say I really enjoy your vlogs. Short but lots of wonderful content. Very relaxing. I like the bars you unintentionally spat at the beginning where you said you were looking for something to eat. 😂 mind linking the spring roll recipe you said you got from IG? It looked delicious. Here's to your growth.

Your makeup is stunning 😍 after a good cry session I put on a full face of makeup to hide the fact that I've been crying. Girl problems 😅

Hi! Just watched this post. My good friend is African American & she struggled to get pregnant. In between her 2 sons being born she suffered 2 miscarriages 😢 devastating. My friend struggles with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It's more common in African Americans. Just wondering if this is what could be contributing to your miscarriages. Im so sorry for your loss 😢Your apartment is beautiful. I agree with what u said: "u can't be healthy all the time" 🙏 after all everything in moderation. Glad u are keeping busy. Have you ever heard of "Better Help" supposedly it matches u with a therapist online. See it brought up from other ppl I follow. Seems like it would be much more convenient especially living in the city, this is done through your phone or computer

Ahh Ashley thank you so much for this lovely comment. Honestly, it's such a hard journey. Very unexpected. But it has made me a different person, for the better. I've been finding out a lot about my health and working on it but yes, PCOS / fibroids are part of the equation. Thankfully, I've got some great doctors and insurance (America!!!!) so feeling hopeful and supported. really appreciate your kind words. I hope you're having a good week! xxx

I'm so glad you are getting answers! Once you find out what is going on with your health you can move on & be more aware of these issues & what not to do to help your condition going forward. So glad u found a good Dr you can trust, that is half the battle!

As a New Yorker, I also find NYC to be inspiring. I also find London to feel like home for me. My husband is British and we plan to live in London part time in the future!
