    Klein drawers seems to have more reinforcement. Just bought into the pack out system a lot of versatility, however did not purchase the drawers , I’m going to wait hoping Milwaukee designs a reinforced drawer system. It’s a lot of money spent on something that seems a considerable amount of pack-out users complain about.. until then Ridgid especially for the price seems more acceptable drawer system to live with. Especially Home Depot having a big Ridgid Modular sale. So a combination of Packout boxes and Ridgid drawers seems like a good compromise.

    Great comparison, I actually have both, Gedore also makes very similar and also blue tools. From the start I can tell you I like the knipex ones more, I have some older versions slightly different from the new ones and also heavier. Weight is not a real problem here. Actually this lever action button is not the best when you work outdoor and some debris can go under that lever on the hazet. If that pivot pin is not fully seated you can do some damage to the teeths. The knipex is easier to clean,and that lever doesn't make much difference for me. Also the heat treatment is better on the knipex cobra, more durable teeths on the gripping jaws. Don't get me wrong, hazet makes great tools, sockets, torque wrenches, and special tools for automotive industry. But I mostly choose knipex when it comes to pliers.

    I just returned a CXS 12 to get this one. The CXS 12 screams like a Banshee at full power! Plus I prefer the mechanical clutch. I found the electronic clutch on the CXS 12 to be unreliable. Also, I know this does not have an offset head, but I think the right-angle head is small enough to fulfill that need in many situations.

    I own rc cars and they get dusty after running them would this work for blowing the dust off when finished?

  • @garnerreviews
    @garnerreviews28 күн бұрын

    This could work. It has limited capacity so it will run out of air quickly but for an RC car it may be just fine. Another option you could consider is the high speed blower/inflator from Makita. They have both a 40v and 18v. May be perfect for a task like that and you could take it with you to the track. 👍🏻

    TP6B was my first veto purchase. I really liked the idea of this bag, however there were some issues with it. It tends to tip rather easily, and because there is no flap, the tools just fall out. I work out of a vehicle and we're always driving around back and forth, so the bag is gonna move around no matter what. I ended up going back to a regular ol' tool bag that I can zip up. I gave away my TP6B to my brother in law and he loves it, he works inside so these issues don't bother him. Veto has since come out with the TP-LD which is more-or-less this bag but with a flap cover and a wider base. I'm seriously considering it.

  • @garnerreviews

    If I am understanding your question correctly, you are asking if this will replace a ratchet and a screwdriver. It would to some extent. I am positive that even in a DIY setting you will find situations where a ratchet would be better or a screwdriver. That isn’t to say that this isn’t useful, but I wouldn’t necessarily think of it as a true replacement for both tools. 👍🏻 Hope that helps and thanks for watching.

    How is the VDE handle (I assume you have that as well) + slim blade combo compared to the Wera Kraftform Kompakt ? Does it have any play ? The Wera has some and I don’t like that. But a Wera set is less than half of the price of PB Swiss here in Europe (40€ Wera with 6 slim blades vs 100€ PB with 5 slim blades). You could do a video on detailing/testing the quality of the PB Swiss VDE kit as there is absolutely NO such information on YT (other than unboxing and just briefly presenting the tools). Tightening the screw in a circuit breaker and checking if there is any play in the handle when you torque down the screw is a good test for lateral stability. Pressing with a flathead blade (like in those push-in wire connectors) would check if there is any front-to-back wiggle.

  • @garnerreviews

    Thanks for watching and commenting. I like the idea of doing a follow up video with some testing of the PB Swiss VDE drivers. Stay tuned in the future. But I will say I think there is very little if any movement. As with everything else PB Swiss, the quality is very apparent. 👍🏻

    Nice review, thanks for the time and effort you put into it - always instructive to see follow up reviews a year or two down the line. These machines aren't cheap, we want them to last! 🙂The only extractors that exceed the Festool range are those made by Starmix - Metabo, Mafell and 3M have the iPulse in a comparable size to the CT 36 E AC. Out of interest do you ever use the AC function with a closed bag installed? And how is this holding up after another year of use?

  • @garnerreviews
    @garnerreviews28 күн бұрын

    It has been running great, certainly a machine worth the cost. I have run the AC function with a closed bag, especially in situations with fine dust (drywall etc.) because I figure some of that dust may escape the bag and I can’t see it hurting the machine to run that function. I would say that if you can afford a top tier dust extractor, like the Festool or Starmix (I don’t have experience with them but have heard they are phenomenal) then you should get one. 👍🏻

    @@garnerreviews Thanks for getting back to me. On using a closed bag + the AC function while sanding drywall compound - what sort of intervals are you setting for the AC? No problems with overheating? Are you managing to fill the bag or at least, close to full? And are you noticing a build up of residual dust in the body of the extractor?

  • @garnerreviews
    @garnerreviews27 күн бұрын

    @@okafka5446Great questions. To be clear, I am not using it exclusively for drywall. So I can’t speak to how it runs only doing drywall although I assume it would handle it just fine since it was designed around that purpose with the Planex. I have played with the cleaning intervals and it doesn’t seem to heat up if the intervals are higher. Usually if I am doing a lot of drywall sanding I use the maximum auto clean setting. And in my experience so far, it will fill a bag completely with almost no loss of suction. My last bag I decided to check it only because the machine felt heavy when I lifted it. It was completely full and I hadn’t noticed a change in suction. There is little to no dust in the bin with my usage so far. 👍🏻 Hope that helps.

    I was just looking at my collection of caulking guns. The convoy lite is actually my first or maybe second dripless gun I have tried and it is the reason why I went out and bought a bunch of other caulking guns that make a similar claim, but with a higher ratio this time. I have a bunch of Dripless brand and they work….only if the tube does not have any air bubbles. newborn has a few good ones too, but they also experience similar issues like the Dripless where it drips about 1 in. Then I came across the Ox drip free gun….P045910…and this thing works flawlessly. 12:1 ratio perfect for finish caulking, but expensive as hell. It costs at least 5 dollars more than the Tajima convoy super that has a similar ratio. The best part about this gun is the ability to turn drip on and off. Highly recommended.

Im 90% sure the heads are interchangable too, so you could take the regular zyklop head and pair it with the pocket body for bit storage, then put a square drive extension and rapidaptor in the extention slot. It's a bit of a project, but if mechanical retention is your desk breaker then that would be the way to go.
