I usually see a box below your solar arrays. What is usually inside that box? Just a combiner box?

if you hang solar panels vertically they preform much better than solar tracking and its far cheaper. keeping one side shaded and cool boosts the overall output. you would be better off laying them flat and trickle cool them...

I got more excited on this for your customer than for the solar. Dude is living the dream. Alone is a valley, green all around, large piece of land, no utilities to give dime to, building a shop and a house…. I just hope he puts some animal in there and create a series of ponds on those hillsides.

how long can the array be generating (built) without a "load" on it? i would think panel damage could occur if just sitting in full sun without it being utilized.....thanks for any info yall have.

Awesome video, Scott! I love what you've done with the extra solar panels you've had left over. The solar powered golf cart is a great concept and I wish I had one when I'm out on the links. Also, your solar array is huge. Easy on the eyes, and a nice setup. Keep up the great content!

Why did you never upload a follow up video? What happened to the project? I want to do the Organic Rankine Cycle myself, but there are only a handful of videos on yt and they have relatively little to do with real world use. Did it fail because of the wrong cooling liquid, because i think the majority of the gas is in gas form so you cant boil it off (i think)? I want to use petroleum-ether with a boiling point of 60°c and instead of a pump a check valve and gravity, the only problem is how to get the oil into the scroll compressor. I will find a solution but i am disappointed that you don't even comment on what happened because i find it very interesting as an enthusiast in power generation systems to see rare diy projects in these topics and there is just silence but your channel is active, dosent make sense to me.

Scott run strut on top of what you already installed along both sides of the panel from front to back. That would tie the racks back together so the stress is not transferred to the panel. It would also protect the panel from someone trying to reach up and grabbing it like a handle.

i own the previous red frame generation to that northstar PW. Mine has regular household 120v plug, 15amps, 1700psi comet pump. Its been very good over the years and everything about it is solid and quality. I can get parts im told if I ever need to. Great tool! I wish they kept the red frame

Hey Scott. I'm going to be getting in touch with you about a Solark inverter. I have a Magnum MS4448PAE that quit on me, about a year out of warranty. I'm pretty disappointed in the Magnum since its only 6 years old. I'm still off-grid at the moment and will be on-grid, eventually. Thanks for the videos!!

I would be happy to help. Since you are going to eventually connect to grid I would steer you toward a 15k Sol-ark. Send me an email and we will figure out what is best for your situation. [email protected]

Well ironical I last week I was looking into a similar project for my 48 volt buggy. I am live right up the hill in Zirconia NC. I am interesting if you are interested in another "filler Project" to up fit it?
