Hi. I'm a wedding photographer based in Toronto. You'll probably hear a lot about weddings on here, film photography, and gear - but only the best and beautiful kind of gear. This channel is where I tell you everything I've learned since starting my photography career in 2013.

Hi Luke, and what about group photos?
Thanks for convincing me that the Z 24-70mm F4 is a great lens. Good review!
Have you shot with Gary Fong at night in open space? No ceiling, nothing to bounce light off of. I have, shot many events at night and I can assure you Gary Fong works and it does diffuse light.
I am not planning on buying it either. I already have the Plena 135mm & 50mm F1.2 and I get what I need done with those two. But of course, like you, I'd love to own it, just because.
i cant buy it wright now because im starting and have no clients.... but i will love to in the future. thanks for helping people that are useless in retouching like me.hahahahaha. all the bestfrom spain.
Hi, I see that payment is only possible with a credit card and not with PayPal or Apple Pay. I would prefer to pay via PayPal.
Just added Paypal for you! Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@lukewtcleland Done! :-) Thanks Luke!
@@lemon58421 Thank you! Hope you enjoy using it!
@@lukewtcleland Ooh yes!😉
Thank you so so much for such a valuable piece of information. The video I was looking for. I appreciate how you put your settings on the screen.
Congrats man! I'm a huge fan of your work, tips and advice. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience! Best of luck in this new adventure you're embarking upon. Greetings from Mexico!
Z6II is not too much different from the previous version which came out at Year 2018.
I love your videos - both the content and your delivery! You have the amazing talent of being able to talk to a camera as if you were talking to me.
This review is great. Definitely now I'm sure to buy the camera with this kit lens
It can also be an amazing lens, but it's not a 50 mm, due to its size. I think it has been very stupid by Nikon doing a 50 mm with this size.. And the price is really crazy. No words. K.
You can actually store the little Allen wrench tool in the included carrying case (there a small internal pouch), very helpful to avoid losing it while shooting!
I really hate this trend of putting video links in while the video is still playing.
Loved the video. Super helpful and makes it much more approachable.
Hi Luke, love your channel, always nice to see how other photographers work. I’m a wedding photographer for 15 years now (in the Netherlands) our weddings are a bit different then in your country, but overall it’s the same. I was looking at your website and what struck me was that you take 80% of the photos vertically instead of in landscape format. Do you have a reason for that, or is it just your style?
Just ordered this camera. Thanks for the review, I’m very excited to try it!
I switched from primes to basically one lens only - Tamron 35-150 f/2.0-2.8. For 2 years it has not been taken out of my Sony :).
Dude, I am have been into photography since I was a kid. I did some professionaly. But there is something about your video that just touches my soul. Thank you Luke - a person whose channel I have just discovered by KZread recommending me this video.
Wow thanks so much - so glad it connected with you!!
I needed that message so bad. Thank you for sharing your story.
Ah I’m so glad!
bought the Preset, Im a learning photographer, I resonate with your style, thank you!
and happy ??
Ah!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Congrats on the 10k! So well deserved & just the beginning! Great video as always!
Thanks so much man!
Sitting here looking at a month full of weddings and sessions, and the tip about a COLLAGE of reference images 🤯
Haha yes - it’s a game changer! Glad you caught that
I had the z6ii but the zf (or the z8) is a huge upgrade. Probably the z6iii will also be.
whats your fav lens ?
probably my 50 1.2
Good video my guy! 👍🏿
thank you!
Great!!! Like always….
Thanks so much!
Well done Luke ! Taking 1 picture everyday for a year is much harder then it sounds. I did it for 45 days on my first try, next was 15 days ! Third time was the charm and I too, like you, made a book, but only for me, containing all my 366 photographs ❤
Thank you! Oh, it's totally brutal. Good for you - it is no easy task at all.
Ha ha. So funny. I also didn't realize it came with the phone mount when I bought it. Ended up using the phone mount more than the regular mount. For more serious work you can get the standard ball head mount and replace the Peak mount with whatever you are currently using. I'd probably use tape to secure the wrench. You don't want to lose it because it also works on screws. I'd suggest a replacement phone mount and a replacement wrench set. They're not very expensive. [Tip: When setting up, open all clips at the same time. Reverse when closing. Saves a bit of time.] I have the carbon fiber version and it is light. Much lighter than the Gitzo carbon fiber I have.
This is so helpful. Hired to do a gig today and you are giving me last minute invaluable pro tips. Also I like your style, immediately subbed
Awesome video. Your excitement is contagious too! And that is why we take photos, not for the perfect shot, but for the memories. Film lets us remember both the subject and the feeling we have as a photographer when we took the shot. I have an F100 and a D750 too and am just as excited as you each time I shoot!!! Enjoy and I’ll definitely watch more of your videos!
Wow, I love this guy ! Thanks a lot for this really good content
Excellent info!!
just came across this while frantically searching for some help on this topic. wow, this was the most helpful & reasonable video on wedding flashes i've been able to find 😅. like, I am *immediately* subscribing to your channel.
Been waiting for this! Ty Luke! Do you mind sharing wheee to get those plexiglass blocks and ceramic dish?
Love the video! So valuable Could you maybe do a follow up video about your thoughts process when actually layering/aligning the flatlays? Thx
Thank you for being that open and generous person
Thank you so much for this content. I love your style.
6:29 - You appear to be a nice guy and appreciate your enthusiasm and instruction here.. But what's befuddling is that this happens to be the 6th Lightroom tutorial video I've watched on YT where the UI demonstrated looks NOTHING like the one I'm using - I'm only seeing 'Cloud' and 'Local' tabs up top. None of those links you're showing. I even hit the 'Help' up top to search for 'Develop' you mention. And nothing. Thanks Adobe! 😆 I only see 'Cloud' and 'Local'. As an aside - Why on this Green Earth would I want others looking at my photo edits in the Cloud ?!?!?!?! I'm using Adobe CC Lightroom 7.2 Mac. The UI I have is 100% COMPLETELY different. For time being I'll just stick with the tried-and-true opening the .ARW file in Photoshop and get all the editing controls I need from there. I mean honestly.. why use Lightroom when you can fine tune the RAW file in Photoshop anyways. 🤷♂
Thank you! So you’re using a different adobe program. That is a simplified version of Lightroom. Called Lightroom Creative Cloud (CC). My tutorial and others you have watched it about adobe Lightroom Classic. You can use them together but they are different programs.
Such a good thing to remember! Tomorrow is my first mothers day and plan on taking our photos myself as well. Happy belated birthday!
Everyone listen to what he just said, it’ll make a HUGE difference in your photography. “I had my camera set to a FIXED daylight white balance level.” Making this change in my photography COMPLETELY changed my photos for the better. Do not rely on auto WB! I have my camera permanently set now at 53-56000 WB and my photos have improved DRAMATICALLY.
Hi! Thank you for this video - super helpful! Is this compatible with Canon? I have the Canon 90D.
Gosh, this is the most helpful video on flash photography l've ever watched! Thanks a million for sharing.
Binging your content as I prepare for my first solo wedding 🫡 thank you sir
You inspire me bro. I’m just a hobby photographer shooting on a 2011 Fujix100, I’ll never be a wedding photographer, but I just love watching you share your passion
How many rolls of film would you recommend for a wedding?
Love this video. I'd love a quick video on your settings for the F100 specifically
The plexiglass blocks is genius! What's your favorite lens to capture details with?
