The song that Fred Barton sings (14:05) is "I Hold Your Hand in Mine," words and music by the great satirical songwriter Tom Lehrer.

Put on your thinking caps and name a young barely-known actress who appeared in the 1975 movie 'Smile', and later went on to be a working girl.

Wow! I'm in tears. What presence! He becomes the character as he introduces the song. And the way he sings from the heart is real old style singing.

The musical score CD for the “Grass Harp” musical show’s cast recording - includes Elaine Stritch performing one of the musical’s most memorable songs …

Elaine Stritch was the original cast member, in the role of “BabyLove” - Stritch was in rehearsals for a new Broadway musical, unavailable for “The Grass Harp” scheduled Broadway engagement… KAREN MORROW replaced Stritch’s “BABYLOVE” role…

Karen Morrow “Baby Love” solo clip is a rarely captured solo musical number… Karen was part of the “entourage’s team” that flew to Cologne, Germany, - to “record” the show’s musical score with the city’s Cologne Symphonic Orchestra … the “entourage City of Cologne Team members” - included, the composer, Claibe Richardson; the score’s arranger/orchestrator - Johnathan Tunick; the lyricist Kenward Elmslie; Principal cast member Karen Morrow - whose solo musical number was recorded live with the orchestra. By being involved in the orchestra’s reading rehearsal, in identify, gave the orchestration the theatrical impression vivid enthusiasm bounty required…! Johnathan Tunick conducted the orchestra. Returning to NYCity, going through US CUSTOMS, both Claibe and Kenward had carried the “orchestra tapes” as personal luggage. Johnathan Tunick’s involvement had concluded how expensive the show’s musical score’s recording, using any NY union members of required musicians, was over-budgeted- recording the score in Germany with a fully membered symphonic orchestra was half the cost of the NY required, using, Union-contracted musicians…

Carol Brice’s career was principally as an opera ensemble performer… her Broadway performance was a rare career achievement … as well, a coup for her casting in the shortlist musical production…! Remarkable - that this TV interview segment included her appearance…

There was a period sometime in the mid-'90s when my mom cleaned Mr. and Mrs. Bock's Pound Ridge home once a week. She brought me with her sometimes. I was 14 or so. (We were basically Polish peasants.) Mr. Bock allowed me free reign in his home. I was particularly fond of his studio, with its countless music albums and the beautiful swimming pool I was graciously given access to. I was made to feel like I was visiting a blood relative's home each time. My mom was never received or treated as a housecleaner but welcomed and affectionately embraced as a family member. One of the most excellent, genuine, and admirable people I have ever known. (I still have my cherished Fidler on the Roof CD he signed for me. ) --Patryk (and Ewa) 🟦
