    I am about to do this Job on my 2023 Roadglide ST this weekend and have one more question. I have seen some of the 2023 models already have the improved cam bearing from the factory? If so is it necessary to replace it? Got the bike new in April and I am at 3000 miles.

    Hey dude, awesome video great information. I was told that as long as you have an EPA regulated tuner Harley cannot void your warranty., like Vance and Hines fuel pack4. Is this true?

  • @VtwinRevolution
    @VtwinRevolution3 күн бұрын

    Thank you ! Yes that is partly correct….harley has to be able to prove that having an aftermarket tuner was not the cause of a particular power train failure, now…..I would stay away from the FP4 they are junk, I’ve had one and hated it. Powervision, TTS or thunder max are your best bet. This whole tuner thing is a very grey area kinda thing. It’s just another way for Harley to get out of having to pay for warranty claims

    @VtwinRevolution4 күн бұрын

    Thank you. No not really, but it doesn’t hurt to replace it. I think I’ve replaced 3 of them…..and the only reason I replaced them was because they wouldn’t stay in place when I removed and cleaned the pump for install. They’re like $10 at most so I would just do it for piece of mind kinda thing

    Thanks fo this! BIG question...im looking at a 2019 RGS that is coming with the extreme air flow air cleaner (round one with center bolt and exposed filter media along the sides and front). He rode the bike 13k miles and did longer trips. He didnt add any slip on mufflers, and I don't THINK he did the tuner. So ...if that's the case I'm guessing the engine ran lean during his rides. Should I be concerned about this if purchasing this bike used? He had all work done at a harley dealer supposedly. Could they have programmed the bike with their equipment, and the bike doesnt need the tuner in that example? Or am i mistaken?? Thanks

  • @VtwinRevolution
    @VtwinRevolution5 күн бұрын

    If I’m not mistaken, 19-23 came stock with a ventilator style stage1 breather. So that’s probably why he just replaced it to a different style. Also if you do buy it, you can always take it to any dealer have them hook it up to the computer, and see if there has been any type of tuning software downloaded onto the bike.

  • @rbljackson
    @rbljackson5 күн бұрын

    @@VtwinRevolution ok thanks for the response....so engine probably didnt suffer damage from running too lean most likely. So one follow on question....does the Pro tuner (or similar) get mounted/stay on the bike or is it just used to program the computer thats on the bike. Or....is the tuner stay on the bike with the programmed map?

  • @VtwinRevolution
    @VtwinRevolution5 күн бұрын

    So, tuners like the SE, FP4, PV4 are tuners that can either be left on or off the bike plugged into the data port. Tuners like the powervision and TTS are tuners that you flash the ECM and then put the tuner somewhere safe. OR ! The powervision can be mounted to the H. Bars lol

    Well…..to be honest you’re probably still under factory warranty, so really I wouldn’t mess with it. HOWEVER ! If you’re not concerned with losing your warranty at this time, bout all you can do is throw a good exhaust and breather on it and have it tuned. I’ll be 100% honest I’m not sure there is a lot of “performance” stuff out yet for the VVT motors I would wait a little longer and see if some of these aftermarket companies like star racing, fueling, S&S etc. come out with cams for these motors. The VVT is here to stay so there will be aftermarket support at some point.

    Hey Sean, I have a question for you. I have a 2009 Road king and I was thinking of deleting the cat so that my chrome Werks muffler would sound louder and the Bike can breathe better is that something I could do and would it make the muffler sound louder? All that cat is doing is holding the sound and Power back. Please correct me if I’m Wrong. Thank you in advance

  • @VtwinRevolution
    @VtwinRevolution9 күн бұрын

    Hey buddy, so deleting the cat will do two things…..1) it will get rid of a TON of heat generated from the cat 2) it will deepen the exhaust note a little nothing drastic but will also help it breathe and move air more efficiently. Personally I would get it out ASAP ! Can you do it….sure ! If you have access to a welder or someone with a welder it would be beneficial. The way I do it is cut the pipe in half and get out ALL the catalyst material (it’s platinum) plus it’s easier to do with two small halves. once all is removed and cleaned out I’ll weld it up and BAM it’s done

    I for one can appreciate what you’re doing here. I’ve had to start working on my bike more and more over the past 5 years. I do like doing it but I’m not as fast as a seasoned guy. It takes me longer thus less riding time. I did have a mechanic I trusted and went too for all my work. He retired. I’m sure we have a lot of great mechanics here in the Cincinnati area. I’m still feeling a couple new guys out. Then there’s the fact that my bike is 21 years old. One HD shop has already said they won’t work on it because it’s too old and my parts are starting to be considered vintage. I’ve still been able to get parts but sometimes it takes a few weeks. I will probably buy a new one in the next few years. I’ve held off this long because my “Twinkie” (I love that) has been so reliable. I’ll never get rid of it, but a newer tech bike would be nice as well. Oh, the Ryan Newman Buffalo fun fact is pretty cool!

    Thank you ! The goal here is to help people whether that’s giving food for thought or it’s helping them be able to work on this stuff the correct way. There is a lot of bad info out there and I just want people to be safe, I weighed the fact that what I’m doing could potentially hurt my business in the long run….but it’s a risk I’m willing to take because of some of the most REDNECK ENGINEERED !!! Stuff I see come through the doors and it’s unsafe. Look I still ride an 07 dyna. I get it I love my bike and have held off as well on getting a different bike because, well they don’t make it anymore AND it’s paid for haha in a few years I’ll be faced with obsolete parts issues but for now I just keep on digging! Thank you for watching ! I appreciate your support.

The cylinders are still air cooled and you could cook them if you got stuck in an extended traffic stop situation. Road mode is gonna give you the best possible fuel mileage

    Tight spot in the chain? I don't understand that part.

  • @VtwinRevolution
    @VtwinRevolution11 күн бұрын

    All chains have a spot where the deflection is less than the rest of the chain, you find that spot and adjust your chain deflection off of that. Let’s say you check your chain and it feels super loose and you get your adjustment correct, then roll it over and the chain doesn’t move cause it’s TIGHT !! Well that tight spot can cause the chain to prematurely fail or cause sprocket damage. If you have any other questions I would be happy to help !

    Hey buddy, I apologize for the late response….i was off yesterday for my birthday. I spoke to one of the other techs that just moved from Cali to confirm info before I told you wrong. so there is a California part number to the street tuner and then there is a 49 state part number the Cali street tuner is obviously more restrictive but they do offer one for California bikes. But if I can get one witch I already know how to. would it work on my bike. The main reason I’m asking is I’m picking it up Saturday the 49 state pro tuner. But if you know for sure it’s not going to work I won’t even open it I’ll just send it back because I heard once it’s opened it can’t be returned. Thank you and sorry I’m asking these dumb questions I just wish it will work thanks again

  • @VtwinRevolution
    @VtwinRevolution14 күн бұрын

    Thank you ! And you’re not a bother or asking stupid questions….this is what this channel is for, helping people. With that said I believe that if you put a 49 state tuner on it’s possibly gonna throw a code for your EVAP, the only reason a day this might be a possibility is because if I accidentally install a ECM software update that’s for a California bike on a bike in NC or 49 state bike it throws codes I can’t get rid of. I will verify this for sure from my co-worker that’s from Cali tomorrow morning and message you back so that you are getting 100% accurate info.

    Hey brother, so I just spoke with my co-worker and a 49state tuner will not work because the software recognizes the VIN as a Cali bike and will not let you download a tune into the bike. If at some point you are looking for more tuning capabilities I would look at the TTS tuner….they were the ORIGINAL manufacturers of the old SE race tuner before Harley got their pecker slapped by the EPA.
