    I have an older twin cam 03, I did the vance n Hines longshots, a standard k&n air cleaner, and a tune and loved the sound and performance. 30k miles later did the reaper 525 cams and yep. Highly recommend it for the 88 twin cam . Love it.

    Thanks Sean! Great content. As you probably know, I've had Speedway install the torque CAM, headers, etc on a couple of bikes. Plus the Wood 22XE on my latest bike. Night and day difference with the Wood 22XE CAM and Power Vision 4 tuner for your listeners out there. Adding a header and CAM definitely wakes it up and gives it an even better sound, not to mention performance. Great job as always by you guys at Speedway and appreciate your content!

    I think I saw you during my visit on my way back to Maine. I spent a lot of time talking to Greg and Barry in parts. I was glad to see one item I had on my wish list was in stock. I have a 15 RG 103 with D&D boarzilla 2 into 1 and I am adding a K&N intake before my dyno that is coming up i a month. Right now the bike doesn't run right because of the lack of back pressure and the ecm freaks out. It does clear up on it's own but then comes right back after riding a bit. I just got this back in September after owning a Victory for years. Barry in parts had or has the same exact victory I owned.

    You should have yelled at me and said hey ! I would have gladly stopped and talked to you !! So I’ve had a similar issue before, because I too am a huge fan of D&D and ran it on my dyna for 8yrs until I got a Thunderheader. ANYWAY!! The borezilla muffler is for 110” motors and larger, if there is a way, I would get yourself the fatcat, that muffler is for displacements from 88”-103” So you have a 15 RG103 stock breather stock motor but have a D&D exhaust ? If you’ve never had any type of tuner map programmed to your bike then the problem your having will be corrected when you install the breather and have it tuned ! That bike is struggling to run right now brother. Well I’m glad you stopped by the dealership, next time stop me or ask if I’m busy….if not I will pop out and say hey !!

Years ago as I was loading my bike in a friends truck he said chrome don’t get ya home, to which I responded, “yes this may be true but it definitely looks good either way”. I believe the other word he used on me was that I was a “Chrome-A-Sexual”! 😜✌🏽 The other thing was your comment about how Tab mufflers make your motor sound like a “real” H-D. So what you’re saying is that the these mufflers make newer motors especially them M8’s sound like Panheads? 👊🏽😜✌🏽🇺🇸🙏

Ok thanks and I’m glad I found your channel.

  • @VtwinRevolution

    @VtwinRevolution

    3 ай бұрын

    Let me break it down for you… If you do slip-on’s only no tuner needed If you do a air cleaner only it’s best to do a tuner If you do air cleaner and slip-ons you need a tuner If you do a header pipe of any kind with a air cleaner you need a tuner If you do just a header pipe only it’s a good idea to do a tuner So far the best sounding headpipe that clears the new cam sensor is the chrome werks 2 into 1 and the bike seems to run pretty good. I hope this helps 🤙🏻 congrats on your new bike !

    Good video. The only issue I seen is on the Bluetooth tuner that Harley Davison you do not need the cable to plug into the computer. It will pair with a phone and download and install the map. I did it personally with my iPhone on my 23 road glide Limited. And even if you watched the Harley Davison videos, they even show no computer necessary please don’t take it the wrong way now. I am curious if there is different maps to download for your PCM using the computer. I would like to get a cable just to check that out. None taken, so what the cable allows is the BCI to be updated with the latest maps and software. Yes….so if you do a stage 2 power or torque cam there is specific maps for each. There are also maps in there if you do a 119” build or 131” or a 135”. And there is no need to worry about picking the wrong map because as soon as it starts to talk to your bike it knows what available calibrations to present to you to pick from. And yes, once you install the wide band O2’s you have to enable smart tune but you also have to have the whole kit….its the wide bands a module that talks to the ECM. If you don’t have the tools you’ll need to take it to a dealer to drill, tap and install the wide bands UNLESS….you have a header pipe that has the large O2 ports for the wide bands

    Your 21 should already have a ventilator style breather on it. The only thing a tuner is gonna do is add a little more fuel to an already factory lean bike and give you a little more throttle response

    So a few of my tuner buddies I’ve talked to say that the dyno doesn’t like the zombie baffles cause they are a straight through design, and the louvered baffles seem to do better cause it allows the air to slow down enough ( back pressure) to help with scavenging in the combustion chamber, I’m all about making power and getting stuff off that strips power, the added benefit to changing baffles is a quieter exhaust note.

SE, power vision, TTS or a fuel-pak while I’m not a fan of the fuel pak they seem to be ok for just a stage 1. But to finish answering you….those other companies all have just stage 1 maps that you can install the only one that’s EPA compliant is the SE tuner so if you wanna run a powervision you can do so or TTS or the fuel pak.

The target tune or thundermax have generic base maps designed to get close and then they take over and tune themselves….i personally feel like taking it to a good tuner will get your base map perfect to your combo this would be the parameters when lookin at a base map to install for example: 107 ci bassani 2-1 redshift 577 stock injector. Your combo might be : 107 ci V&H powerduals S&S475 stock injectors The tuner would select the closest base map and then fine tune it a bit so that when you leave it runs at peak performance allllllll da time 🔥

I have a older 09 Road king classic and I am getting really low gas mileage like between 28 to sometimes 30 miles per gallon and my question is what should I be getting on this bike it only has 24,000 miles and it has a stage One with a power commander five tuner. Arlen Ness, big sucker air filter and 4 1/2 inch chrome works exhaust tips What do you think might be the problem with the low mileage per gallon?

  • @VtwinRevolution

    @VtwinRevolution

    3 ай бұрын

    Well fuel mileage is subjective….it all depends on the riders wrist lol. Make sure the fuel is fresh and you’re running 91 or better octane. But just based off what you’ve told me it’s possible that it’s running too rich, I’ve seen power commanders do some wild stuff, typically if I have to diagnose ANY bike I’ll look and see if it has a piggy back type tuner (PC,PC3, PC4 or PC5) but not limiting (V&H fuel pak) and I will unplug that specific tuner and see if that clears any problems I might be having.

    Haha all good, the fact that you added a tuner when you put a full system on was the right choice. What you need to pay attention to throughout the rpm range is: hesitation, decel pops, dead spots…these are indication that you should have it tuned. I learned this the hard way. Not all pipes are created equal, for example: a D&D is gonna run differently from a Thunderheader or a set of Vance & Hines power duals. The tunes are “generic” and are designed to get you close enough to be rideable.

    I have an 09 Super Glide Custom. I got it from a friend who got it from the original owner. The original owner had V&H big radius exhaust and a high flow air breather installed at the dealership where he purchased it brand new. There isn’t a tuner installed anywhere on the bike and I have no way of getting in contact with the original owner. Is there a way for a dealer to run the VIN and find out if the original dealership installed a tune when they added the aftermarket parts. Since it was done at a Harley Dealership and shop.

    I love dynas !! More than likely it has a stage 1 SE download, anything 2016 and earlier we can install a download versus a tuner. they can plug it up to the computer and verify this, At your dealer.

    That’s a GREAT question, that I honestly don’t have an answer for. If we were a dealership that had a dyno I could give you a straight answer….but if I had to guess stage 1 would probably get you 3-5HP conservatively….a stage 2 would depend on the cam. Is it a Harley torque cam or a Harley HP cam ? Is it a aftermarket midrange cam….so it’s hard to give you an accurate answer for that one.

    Say someone bought a 2013 Breakout and you can tell the previous owner put a lot of money into it, Vance & Hines big radius pips,sounds like it has a nice cam in it.After market chrome wheels. $$$$$ Runs like a scolded cat. But see no tuner under the seat. And have no idea what all they did to it. Hows a guy tune it? Plugs where a bit on the white side when changed them. And can you take the vin number in to Harley for a history on the bike?

  • @VtwinRevolution

    @VtwinRevolution

    3 ай бұрын

    So the only real way to see if it has a tuner is to take it to a dealer and let them hook it up to the computer and see if it’s either got a download or a street tuner, they can also run your VIN in the service history link and tell you what’s been done to the bike….heres the kicker on that though. If whatever dealer isn’t a participant in the service history program then you either won’t get info or it will be sporadic I

    I’ll agree with that, but if you want to make sure that your BCI is updated and you have a current version of the maps per your model the cable is needed. Also when these new tuners were released we were instructed to use the cable and not connect via BT.
